Froch is made of stern stuff. Do people think Golovkin hits harder than Kessler? Kessler landed plenty on Froch and never had him in trouble.
All this talk of him obliterating Froch is a little silly. His best win is a macklin who has been Ko'd twice before.

History is littered with fighters who look a million dollars against a certain calibre of opponent but struggle with the step up.
Look no further than Broner, looks fantastic slapping around the likes of Ress but steps up to fight a barely top 10 Paulie and wins a close fight. The same Paulie who Hatton and Khan stopped.

Should also be worth remembering this is not the lower weights as well. It is 8lb difference in weight. For a smallish middle that is not inconsiderable. Benn used to look an absolute beast power wise at middle. Whilst he was hardly feather fisted at super middle he did not look the same devastating force.

You're so right. Good as GGG is, has he fought one worldclass fighter yet?
When he hits Froch and he doesn't fold, just blinks takes it and hits him back with super middleweight power how does he react?

It's what I keep saying...........He'll be fighting guys that can take his shot.....and he isn't Sugar ray leonard.............Best to clean up 160 and make his name before "risking" all.........

I think people are underestimating Golovkin.
He looks a startling talent and an unusual puncher.

I rate him highly..........Haz !!...Look of Julio cesar sr about him...However I'm not sure of his punch at 168.........Looking at Macklin's body structure.. I imagine on the night Ward would be a stone heavier than Macklin was....!!
If he can't hurt Ward ...He has no chance...

Don't forget that super middles are just bigger as well, froch is three inches taller, and will have a two inch reach advantage. I can tell you from experience that makes a big difference.
If Truss is right re: Ward a stone is a big difference, and whilst it might not even mean he's a bigger puncher, it'll mean he can soak it up better.

I thnk Ward takes him but would favour GGG heavily over Froch.
Chavez is Ward's money fight. GGG is his biggest challenge.

Re: Froch v Golovkin?
I don't understand how you've come to that conclusion Haz, at all. Smacks of Froch underrating to me.
GGG has never fought anyone at Froch's level, let alone weight. As mentioned, 8lbs is actually quite a big deficit in weight, just because a small middleweight is powerful at his current weight doesn't mean it travels up, because with the additional weight, speed is more often than not lost in footwork, so he may have the same power, but he may be hit harder and more often. Favoring Golovkin over Froch "heavily" makes no sense in the sense that I'd favour Mayweather over Klitschko if they fought at the same weight, but simple fact is its a different ball game. I'd favour Rigo over Broner, but they don't fight at the same weight.
Wish a little bith of objectivity could be used sometimes. GGG hasn't fought anyone world class like Froch, so to favour him is somewhat of a none starter.

Technically, they could fight at heavyweight tomorrow.

Very true, but then of course I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be able to be a strictly legal affair.

It would be perfectly legal wouldn't it?

Floyd won't take it. He is a ducker.

Re: Froch v Golovkin?
He wouldn't have to duck, as Wlad never throws body shots all his punches would go whistling over Floyd's head.

Re: Froch v Golovkin?
Why wlad though - he'd knock mayweather out clean with a jab - no sustained punsihment. Put him in with ward or froch - much more satisfying

Why would he duck klitschko when he's already beaten the Big Show?

Can we seriously ease up with the wrestling references on here. Is a worrying trend that is creeping into the board that needs nipping in the bud. Don't think you have to pretend to like it to suck up to Adam. You can treat it with the contempt it deserves.

There aren't that many references. It's like finding a needle in a giant haystack

A few is a few too many. My post was a pre-emptive strike. Wrestling is like a cancer, your best chance of stopping it is catching it early.

I haven't seen any myself, just good honest talk about Froch, who as we all know is the ultimate warrior of the ring.

Union Kane got stitched up proper by the swear filter there! He will most probably hulk for a few hours now.
