If Wlad says Haye has been living in his shadow since the Olympics, we'll know that Chunky has definitely had a had in this somewhere...and that Wlad should probably proof read things a little betterrowley wrote:coxy0001 wrote:Scottrf wrote:Don't jump on Wlad's intelligence too quickly.
"Maybe you should change the H for a G on your magazine, it might sell more quickly."
Sky: "We apologise if you were offended by Klitchsko's wordplay."
Seriously?
He's blatantly thought of windup comments... has he employed a 10 year old to help?!
Think he has put James DeGale on the payroll, that one is right out of the Degale "you've got ginger hair and bad breath playbook"

Read bottom to top:
Adam Booth finally steps in and calls a halt. Everyone scurries off to the interviews, which is my cue to leave you too...
2:17
The camermen crowd round... and Haye and Klitschko are stood staring. Six minutes this lasted in Germany yesterday... we could be a while folks!
2:16
Now for the head-to-head...
2:15
Wlad offers a pound bet that he KO's Haye in the 12th and final round... and that is that!
2:14
Both are asked about predictions... Haye won't give an exact prediction. "I'll send the text out at a later date. As a start to hone in I might see I can hold him for five or six rounds, or take him out earlier. We'll see what the odds are... not that I'd ever bet on myself!"
2:13
Wlad conducts a straw poll. Hands up who thinkls Haye is going to win. Team Hayemaker, including George Groves who's here, shoot their arms up. I'm keeping my head down and typing away... he's not more than 10ft from me! And if Haye thinks Wlad's chinny...
2:12
"I can outbox him, out-fight him, mid-range, long range... and I can out-jab him. I can out-jab you you know," says Haye.
2:11
Does David Haye respect anything abotu Wladimir Klitschko?
"You've got to respect his consistency. For boredom..."
2:10
Wlad tells us he didn't care about the nationality of the boxer, says it was his manager's choice. "I am a fighter in the ring and I care about nothing else." Boente points to the Lewis fight... when big brother Vitali was stopped on cuts, ahead on the cards, of course...
2:09
"I hope it's going to be more exciting that the Audley Harrison fight!" Klitschko hits back!
2:08
"If any of you are struggling with insomnia, watch a few Klitschko fights," says Haye when asked how this is not going to be horing...
2:07
Adam Booth says the only reason the fight wasn't in Britain is because Wladimir wanted his German doctor in the corner with him and the British Board of Boxing Control don't allow that... but Haye will have an English doc with him!
2:07
The Sun's Colin Hart asks about the officials and Boente tells us nothing has been decided. "All we want is absolutely neutral officials." Adam Booth says the governing bodies will get together to decide the man in the middle...
2:06
Fair enough Paul L - but not everyone is a Haye fan! Even over here!
2:05
Comment From Paul L
Can someone tell him to stop trying to charm us - it won't work. It's like trying to convince me to support the Ukraine at football when I'm Englishman - get off!
2:04
Bernd Boente tells us the first plan was to box at Stamford Bridge - Wlad knows Roman Abramovich! But obvioyusly that never happened and then, once Gelsenkirchen was ruled out, Hamburg it had to be!
2:04
Haye makes it clear he was willing to give away - suggesting Klitschko wasn't.
2:02
"There were a few concessions to be made," says Adam Booth.
"If he needs me to come in second, go to a certain corner - I thought we could flip a coin as we're both champions - then it wasn't a big deal for me. If he wants to walk in second for his final fight, that's fine."
2:02
Wlad, not known for his fast feet in the ring, sidesteps the question and sings the virtues of the Imtech Arena and the atmosphere we can expect on the night.
2:00
Wlad is asked about how he is first on the poster, second into the ring and boxing at 'home' - he lives in Hamburg - and whether he shou'd have shared more of these advantages in a unification fight...
2:00
"I won't underestimate David Haye," says Klitschko. "For all the joking this is a serious business. You can play basketball, you can play rugby, but you can't play boxing."
1:59
"It might be if I break my hand on his face." Boom!
1:57
"Could this be your last fight? If you lose it will you quit?"
1:57
Sky Sports News Craig Slater kicks off the questions...
1:57
There wll be another press conference in Germany fight week...
1:56
"I don't want to under-estimate David Haye. I want to give David Haye as a fighter a lot of respect... in a cetain way. It's going to be tough."
1:56
He then says his brother, Vitali, a doctor will treat him for post-traumatic stress, for free, as a favour!
1:55
Disrespectful and rude... Wlad tells Haye he will teach him how to behave in the ring. And he says he wll fight him for 112 long rounds and knock you out in the 12th and final round...
1:55
Klitschko says he made this fight happen... "You're gonna be number 50 and be my number 50. Congratulations. You're gonna get the biggest pay cheque of all my opponents."
1:54

Cheers Scott, seems a bit more lively than yesterdays!
Re: Haye Interview With Links to press Conference and More
Wlad seems the more relaxed of the two guys but not sure what to read into really. I though Haye looked similarly subdued at times during the Harrison press conferences as if he was bored by the whole thing. He may just not want to alow himself distractions now the fight is actually hppening.
I dont really see why Haye has to persist with his classless behaviour though. The fight is happening now so is there really a need to show such a lack of respect?
He could maybe justify it a couple of years ago as an attempt to get in the picture but now it looks to be in poor taste. Refusing to shake hands or offer even an ounce of respect is just childish. The stuff about Wlad being a fraud makes no sense now as hes signed to fight Haye for a second time. So unless Haye considers himself a small, fat and unhealthy American then I dont see what his point is. His argument falls down pretty quickly if you look at the rankings of their respective oppositions.

Haye said on Sky sports news a couple of hours after the press conference that he never respected Wlad, he said he had to earn it. Made him sound like a tool.

Haye looked a lot more comfortavle in front of his own press. Think he knew the German media don't like him and are pro Klitchko. He just wasn't interested in being their/ The fact their is no PPV in Germany might have something to do with it they already know how much money they are getting from that end he will really sell it over here when the fight is a few weeks away.

Yeah agreed Kev he looked far more on form yesterday than in Hamburg. That is a pretty good point you make regarding the ppv sales, it's not like he has got to rope a load of Germans into watching it too.

Listening to Talksport this morning and Colin Hart was on. He's gone for a close Klitschko win. This guy rarely gets it wrong.

Hope I'm very wrong, but I cant see this fight going past 9 with Haye flat out on his back and retirement beckoning.

Hmm, not sure how it can be close to be honest. I can't see Haye racking up too many points (especially in Germany), and think his gameplan will be purely KO based. So realistically it has to be a Haye KO or a wide Wlad UD/Stoppage late on. I don't think we will have another Valuev type fight where nobody has a clue who may get the nod.

Colin Hart predicted Ali would beat Foreman in the Rumble in the Jungle. Just thought I'd mention it on the off chance he hadn't mentioned it in the last five minutes (unlikely)

I think Hart may secretly envisage a fairly one-sided victory for Wlad but is perhaps just being diplomatic to the British fighter by claiming it will be close.

I'm not sure it's in Hart's nature to be tactful or sentimental. I think he picked Mayweather to dominate Hatton didn't he?

Did he? It would have been a pretty bold move considering Hatton was seen as a national hero at the time.
Most sport commentators tend to sugar coat their predictions if they feel that the British athlete is about to fail/lose.

Mayweather or Pacquiao, he was talking about it the other day. Actually I think it was that he said Pacquiao could knock him out when he chose.J.Benson II wrote:Did he? I remember reading an article by him prior to Pacquiao fight. He said Pacquiao would murder Hatton.

Ps agree with Benson. He probably said it would be close as he was on the Sky affiliated talksport. He's not going to say it'll be a moida for fear of the PPV.
Genuinely believe Haye thinks he's gonna win this one, but i reckon it'll be a bigger let down tthan Hatton Pacquiao
