Not sure I'd described the bearded wonder as 'dynamic' to be honest.

I really want the Lions to win - although I'm a little disappointed with the balance of the side

The Lions, as an over-financed, over-hyped, outdated, Bwitish Colonial concept, will be buried this Saturday
For the sake and long-term future of NH rugby, I'm so glad. It has become a running, corporate, rugby, joke.

Sad bunch of individuals, jealous because more of their nations were not selected in the first place. It's such a tragic indication of how rugby supporters have gone.
WELL DONE GATLAND AND ALL THE BRITISH AND IRISH LIONS.
No doubt the scum will crawl from beneath their slime ridden rocks regardless of the result.
It's already been identified which nation brings success to the Lion's, accept it.

Are you Welsh? Because jingoistic nationalist myopia is the only reason I can think of as to why you, and (some) other apprently Welsh posters, cannot seem to read what is being written. My favourite player is Welsh. Two of my favourite players in the England set-up (Tuilagi and Cole) didn't make the final cut and I agree Roberts and Jones are both better and more deserving. The issue is that this isn't the best XV and that Gatland has picked what he knows rather than who's best or what is/isn't working.
Re your final comment, Lions' two best players (North & H'penny) are Welsh. But I see nothing else to justify that statement as no other players have stood out and certainly no country has done enough to claim they're the ones bringing/driving 'success'.

One of the non-rugby reasons highlighted above as to why the Lions failing on Saturday might be a good thing.

Its a shame the Welsh public (not to be confused with Welsh rugby fans) didn't follow the 2001, 2005 and 2009 tours with such interest.

What annoys me is the hypocrisy. None of the Welsh can see the similarities between this tour and 2005.

Why would we have to eat humble pie - fundamentally we are not happy about Wales winning a test match by beating up the opposition.

Lions every day of the week. Dont care what anyone says there is as much arguing over Lions selections as there is over Irish selections. So I am still proud how the Lions brings B&I together for one month every 4 years arguements or not. I will always back them.

It's only hypocrisy if exactly the same posters as 2005 are now having a different opinion. Are they the same posters on 606v2 as the thing they had on 2005?

Maybe they did, maybe they didn't. But the Welsh fans have to understand this tour has been slightly runined for the rest of us.
Although the Scots, Irish and English should all be really thankful. It's unlikely we'll have to support Gatland or his style of rugby ever again. As for Wales.... he'll be going back to his day job after

Hardly! WUM's typically post up hyperbole and never back it up with facts. I post my opinions and back them up with facts. Just because I disagree with you, doesn't make me a WUM mate!

Hahahaha he will be looking a long time consulting that load of crap won't he. Similarities with 2005!! what utter and complete nonsense, 2005 was the circus of the decade unfortunately managed by the biggest clown ever to coach the Lions. If ever there was a tour to disband the Lions it was 2005.
Fact is there has been a stink of sour grapes since Gatland was selected and the squad was then also picked.

Re: Who's 606 supporting on Saturday?
Radge, Scotland play the same way as Wales IMO. Strangle the game up front, turn the screw, and kick the points. See Scotland v Aus the last two times. See Scotland v Wales in the 6N. See Ireland v Scotland 6N. It's Gatlandball in a kilt!
I'm not trying to wind you up, but if you think Scotland are some sort of opposite to the Wales and Lions game plan then I think you're mistaken.

Thing is Griff, between the four nations we should be able to play a little bit of rugby, don't you think? It would be nice to think so.Griff wrote:Radge, Scotland play the same way as Wales IMO. Incorrect. Scotland used to play like that. Mainly becuase we lacked distribution in the centres. Scott, Dunbar, Laidlaw hardly fit into the Gatland style of bish bash bosh that Wales play.
Wales play more like South Africa these days. Big powerful runners trying to punch holes in the oppostion and intimidate.

Of course Cyril, but the joke is on Radge if he thinks that Wales will go back to Gatlandball and Scotland will go back to being some sort of Harlem Globe Trotters of rugby!
Glasgow play nice rugby. Scotland do not (neither do Wales). There are many, many similarities.

Well I didn't see any of that in the 6N, apart from against Italy. And most teams cut loose and throw it about against Italy, even Wales. I didn't see it in the South Africa cup recently - very direct and abrasive rugby.

Maybe because it's 1-1 in the series with absoluetly nothing in it as opposed to the 2005 circus in which we got oblitetarted in every Test in spite of the experienced Alastair Campbell being on board. Maybe it's because in 2013 the coach has pciked a lot of the players (not 23 mind you) who have dominated in the 6 Nations in the last couple of years as opposed to virtually ignoring the Grand Slam champions of 2005 who had less than 1/2 the contingent of their english counterparts. With the series levelled at 1-1 and The Lions with a chance of winning the series I see very litttle resemblance to the circus that was 2005 in which we were on the back end of record defeats.

Most teams play direct rugby these days, the only one that doesn't are the All Blacks, and they are looking to reinvent their kicking game at the moment.
It is all due to law ruck laws, big organised defences.
The more things change the more they stay the same, perhaps why Dr Danie Craven set out a directive in 1784 that SA will always play the same style, it eventually comes back to the same thing.
