Fury came across pretty well, he was pretty honest about things. Clearly his twitter comments are just for a bit of controversy & hype.

Well
Well....
He's still a poor boxer, but seems like a nice enough bloke away from the bright lights and such. He visits this forum, I'm sure of it. Maybe he wants to get us on side?

Great interview, I enjoyed his assessment of the Haye fight, not often you hear that level of honesty.

Re: V2 Boxing Podcast Featuring Tyson Fury
Fury always comes across well in interviews etc, but acts like a prat when excited (end of a fight) or when someone puts electronic media his way. He has admitted that he suffers mood swings and that could be a sympton. He gets a lot of "gyp" on here, from me as much as anyone, but I don't think he is too bad and wish the guy luck. I just hope he doesn't do a Bruno and go off the deep end.

Re: V2 Boxing Podcast Featuring Tyson Fury
Great podcast. Fury has the ability to infuriate me with some of his internet outbursts. But when he's interviewed he comes across as a levelheaded guy. He internet savvy and maximises his ability to self market. He has talked himself into a 50 /50 split with haye. Chorizo couldn't do that with a press conference fight.
I really like his disdain for the belts, honesty on the haye fight. I hope he meets and beats haye.

Re: V2 Boxing Podcast Featuring Tyson Fury
I think his disdain for the belts will disappear as soon as the Klitschko brothers do, Tyson knows deep down that he'd have no chance of winning a belt whilst Wlad and Vitali are holding them.

Re: V2 Boxing Podcast Featuring Tyson Fury
I don't for a second think that he actually posts, but there have been various hints I've picked up from quote a few boxers/promoters that seem to reference "forums" and considering there are what....2 or 3 big internet forums and its highly likely we're the best (honestly, I've been on the other forums and I'd put 80% of our fraternity against theirs and know who'd win in a debate)
So it leads me to believe Fury isn't alone, think Warren comes here often as does Cleverley, Froch and Hearn, Adam Booth but not Haye, Degale, Price, Maloney etc.

Re: V2 Boxing Podcast Featuring Tyson Fury
Warren is 100% a lurker on these forums. Always answers questions about his fighters in interviews that we raise when referring to "the internet" - and these questions are quite specific, like the guy from iFilm London - he defo lurks here.

Re: V2 Boxing Podcast Featuring Tyson Fury
Did you see the interview with Warren in Boxing Monthly. Says there are a couple of journalists lurking on forums posting under various aliases posting stuff about him they know to be lies. Frank says he is going to sue them into bankruptcy. Watch what you say lads. Am glad I have only ever described Frank as Britain’s best ever promoter and been highly complementary about his match making and business practices.

Your questions on the weightlifting forum are in line with where I think Furys fitness level is, FoF. If you hadnt outed your height as significantly shorter, or your weight as a cruiser, I would probably believe you

His obsession with weight should have told you that straight away - Functional strength only!

Is the weightlifting forum still the simmering hotbed of barely concealed homo eroticism it was the last time I looked in?

Actually they were celebrating gay pride on that day - the rest of the time they extol the virtues of jerk and the perils of snatch.

Oh yes Jeff, still going, oft inspired by the Blue Oyster's very own American Hero.

So back to the actual podcast content, did anyone believe his sincerity in wanting the fight?

Could someone who is a member of eastsideboxingforum (and any other forum for that matter) post it on their for me too.
Re: V2 Boxing Podcast Featuring Tyson Fury
Adam, to be honest - of course he wants the fight - 5 million reasons
Re: V2 Boxing Podcast Featuring Tyson Fury
Fury strikes me as a man with delusions of adequacy, I would think at the very least he feels capable of not embarrasing himself vs Haye - there is also a lot of money on the table

Re: V2 Boxing Podcast Featuring Tyson Fury
Very rare to hear a boxer be so honest with his limitations. Like he doesn't genuinely believe he can beat Haye which is what most people believe. Seemed very realistic about his career and said what everyone thought about the reasons he isn't fighting Pulev.
Enjoyed it and hope he does well after that.

Re: V2 Boxing Podcast Featuring Tyson Fury
Great podcast again. Tyson Fury is actually a decent lad deep down I'm sure, he always come across well in interviews like this. He's done amazingly well to get himself to where he is, and his honesty regarding the Haye fight is very refreshing. I agree with his assessment, whoever lands big first will likely win the fight. Really hope this one gets made, though we really have been spoiled this year, all the fights the fans want seem to be getting made. Rigo v Donaire, Mayweather V Canelo, Wlad V Povetkin etc. Could be something to the theory that the promoters/fighters are checking out the forums etc, maybe Floyd saw that 606v2 wanted Canelo and he made the fight! Okay, maybe not, but 2013 has been an amazing year for boxing.

Anyone remember when Anthony Small used to post on the old BBC 606?
