Has Gatland gone for the right combinators?
First topic message reminder :
Confession time: there is no substance to this thread whatsoever, I've just always wanted to use the word 'combinators' in a title, and at last found my chance! So, in the interests of adding some lightheartedness to what has been a fairly tough few days for the board, any other fond memories of past posts that just make you want to giggle?

The mods have a difficult job trying to differentiate the white hats from the black hats and I salute them.
Never forget that a guy wearing a black hat thinks he's wearing a 'white' one. Or to simplify even more, let's not pretend our view is always the 'correct' one.
Some might look at the old 606 as the Wild West, with no law and order and bloody gunfights on the streets. Those same people probably regard this new 606 as a paragon of virtue, law and order, nice Bobbies saying "Evening All" on the street and pleasant parks and pubs galore.
Others though might have enjoyed, or perhaps even prefered, the edginess and earthiness of a Wild West town, where respect was gained from the quickness of a draw. A man's world. They might look at the present place as being 'pleasant' in a way but often overly conformist and often verging on Orwell's 1984, where thought-crimes can get you in a serious pickle, where individual expression is suppressed by the collective's desire for grey, functional, apathetic stat compilations, endless 'Best of' lists and nobody having the right to criticise any annointed 'Big Brothers'

Why's a black hat wrong? I always wear a black hat, I would look dopey (dopier) in a white hat.

I would not be arrogant enough to attribute thoughts to other people.Speaking for myself works for me.

No, there was nothing random about the shameless promotion of questionable English forwards at the expense of the Irish and Scots.
Oh, oops, have I let the cat out of the bag? Don't worry boys, you carry on scapegoating our Warren if that makes you happy.
I don't know, you'd think Wales had won two 6 Nations on the trot and got further than any other home nation in the World Cup was due to a procession of flukes...

Again, you presume too much, Taff. Only I know when my 'Black hat' alarm system is working perfect...as it's only set to catch hats I perceive to be 'black'. You and others will have yours calibrated differently.
But you're right....that was only a joke test run on old Glas.

As in I'd ban too many? Or I wouldn't ban enough?
BTW...interesting point you bring up, Taff. Just how many of the mods in this place are Irish?.... if any!!! I've seen English ones, Welsh ones, South African ones...I think New Zealand ones. I don't think I've honestly ever come across an Irish one. Is that because none of us are interested in the job or because we're generally a little too relaxed about bar-fights and broken saloon tables?

Ah, to be fair I don't really go into the Irish threads (province or international). Scary places for an outsiderJenifer McLadyboy wrote:https://www.606v2.com/t44102p50-munster-2013-14#2183012

What makes a good mod?
Well, a guy who wants the job, who campaigns for the job, who applies for the job............. doesn't
I'm very suspicious of people who think they know what's best for the masses and how to control them.
Yeah, you could add politicians, scientists, doctors, teachers, policemen and criminals to the list
Basically, I don't think any human has what it takes to be a god mod. Let's try hiring a few meerkats instead. They're always alert kinda folks without the ego gettinks in the ways.

I'd make a terrible mod. I'm too pedantic. I'd lock a thread because of bad spelling.
