Wimbledon - Mens Semi Final Day 12
First topic message reminder :
Well here we are at the business end. Centre Court will be the gladitorial theatre. Here's hoping for some blockbuster encounters and winners by the bucketloads!
Novak Djokovic v Juan Martin Del Potro
Andy Murray v Jerzy Janowicz
The first one certainly the pick of the matches.
The money is on another Andy v Novak final. Can Delpo and Jerzy cause the top seeds a massive upset to rival the biggest upsets?

Probably partly due to the boorish Polish contigent who make the Murray lot look mild mannered. And JJ's histronics

Murray's getting his racket on a lot of first serves at least.
Interesting to see a match with so few rallies, quite old school wimbleon, could be evne more so with roof closed

Murray played some smart points in that game. I actually like the short low slice and come to the net at 0-30. it was as good a play as he had available in that tricky position

Bl**dy hell - well done Murray. Some really cool and clever play.
Janowicz is going to be a monster v soon, even if he is looking flakey atm. First set he looked almost unplayable at times and he covers the court in a stride and a half.

Murray is really giving hard time for Janowicz. The young lad is bit nervous here.

Janowicz's errors are not helping him either. Stark difference between first and second sets, as noted earlier.

I meant classless as in his attitude. Very unsportsmanlike when he gets a point.

I meant that to make the Murray box look mild mannered they must have been beating people up.banbrotam wrote:bogbrush wrote:What are they doing? Beating people up?banbrotam wrote:Chydremion wrote:Crowd now turning really classless celebrating double faults.

It's great over here, we're not getting much of Judy. Bliss.

Henman Bill wrote:Well done to both players for the quality of the first set. For quality rather than entertainment, it was better than the first set of the Djokovic-Del Potro match. Does anyone else think that match was overrated a bit? Set 1 was average, set 5 was OK, set 4 tiebreaker pretty awesome. I missed sets 2, 3 and half of 4 though, were they better?
HB : Djoko/Delpo was in no way overrated, not for me. One of the very best semis I've seen at Wimbledon

I can't stand the aggressive fist pumping from Janowicz or the wagging finger at his box after crucial games........other than that, he's scarily impressive.
Great service game from Murray to hold.

Yup agree with that. In the first semi both del porto and Djoko showed a true sportsman character, with djoko applauding del's point and del was waiting for djoko after the match. Hats off to two great players of this game.

Yea it was so nervous so I didnt comment, but Del Po didn't let me down, he was a bit unlucky but thats part and parcel of sports, what I liked is he gave his best yet came short but that didn't make lose respect for the winner, he paid due respect the winner deserved at the end of the match.

A break point for Murray, a good response to ruthless behavior of Janowicz.

Del Potro - Djokovic was undountebly a good match but what I heard ranged from match of the tournament (OK, maybe) to one of the best of all time (no) although to be fair it was more the BBC than the forum overdoing it.

I'm not certain I've seen two SF's as thrill bound as these today
As I suspected, this is turning into a needle match
May the best man win!!

Did anyone else think "one too many" the instant Janowicz hit that drop shot on break point down? Wasn't as bad as the one Murray hit but still..
Shame that Murray broke with a netcord, he was almost broken with a netcord earlier but got away with it...lucky

Murray has this in the bag, JJ's got great potential but not consistent enough as of yet. Murray in 4. Djokovic/Del Potro game was immense compared to this.

Re: Wimbledon - Mens Semi Final Day 12
Janowicz is still very raw, very much a work in progress.
Don't think he's playing particularly well though.
All that said, I don't like it when the crowd get this involved.
