Who is the Australian Player of the series ?
There have been some fantastic performances by the opposition. But who do you think has played the best out of their fielded players?

Folou was exceptional in the first test, front row union were massive in the second.
Kurtley Beale made a huge impact in both games with his vision kicking and running angles...
For me it would be Ben Robinson

Genia, he ran the first test and came up big when it mattered with superb vision for the try and showed times whe he was a big running threat when the lions left gaps in the defence.

Genia or Hooper.
Can't really understand dropping Hooper. He even made a greate Cameo at 12.

Folau gets my vote. He has taken to international rugby like a fish to water.
A few other noticeable candidates though; Genia, Hooper, Alexander.

Horwill, Genia, AAC, Folau, and the front row have all stood out.

Your mum ?...wait one game then decide, only 66% of the way through. That said probably the new zealand citing commissioner.

Seems telling that no one's mentioned LLF's kicking display in the second test. Enterprise and threat seem to be valued...

I think LLF's day will come tomorrow. He looks the new stability type at 12 Oz have been looking for. Smith's going to be fun to watch.
Hate to admit it but BODs cunning is going to be missed, Oz making several inroads in that area I reckon.

Ben Mowen. Has been superb in the Aus back row. Hit's rucks, carries, tackles, great in the lineout, he's like Croft, Lydiate and SOB rolled into one!

Genia or Folau.
Genia for the way he controls the Aussie play (at times he may have overdone it, perhaps he doesn't have enough faith in O'Connor at ten) and Folau for his attacking nous.

Genia has been superb. Already touted by Stuart Barnes as today's "best player in the world"...

He is good, but for me Dan Carter holds that honour.

Barnesy likes to add a bit of gold to the game...!
Genia has been in very good form. But I agree on their being other better players. These tests have been won upfront. I vote Ben Alexander.

Still home in northern New Jersey, about 50km west and slightly north of NYC. Nice quiet area. Hot as blazes though. Already 26°C and the sun ain't up yet.Biltong wrote:It's fine, you'll warm up to it soon. Where are you in America ?
Leaving on a business trip to Sao Paulo then Buenos Aires tonight, for about a week.

Re: Who is the Australian Player of the series ?
I'm used to waking up at 3:00 or 4:00. Probably an old army thing, or maybe I am an insomniac. So I get up, grab a coffee, watch the news then put on some Rugby. Watching Highlanders now.Biltong wrote:how come you are up so early then?doctor_grey wrote:Still home in northern New Jersey, about 50km west and slightly north of NYC. Nice quiet area. As soon as the Wallabies Lions are over, I drive my lads about 90 minutes into Connecticut for a 7s tournament. We are all going to bake in the heat.

Very prophetic maesteg
Mowen for me has been the one who stood out - couldn't do much about it today but still but in a decent shift.

Mowen 100%. Looks a real test class blindside.

Sensible boy.
The poster who suggested that the two Bens, Robinson and Alexander probably wishes he had made the same decison

Ben mowen is more of an offside than a blindside, has played amazingly every game though !

Good call.... People should remember this series was his test debut. Great player. Lineout, tackling, ball carrying.

Mowen for me.
Every time Phillips looked to take off in the first test Mowen was there to stop him dead. Added to that his carrying and line out, the Aussies look to have a real player there
