The net worth of Halfpenny
A lot being made how the Lions win is good for Wales rugby, but it will disastrous for regional rugby.
Halfpenny could command a massive wage, will the Cardiff Blues be able to keep hold of him?
Question also goes for the other exceptional Welsh players on tour?

I was told earlier this morning or maybe it was last night that Halfpenny shouldn't be the player of the series as all he does is kick.
Happy to see him prove today that he is much more than a kicker.

Re: The net worth of Halfpenny
He's always been a great attackher Biltong. He's had some great runs on the wing and was class in a couple of the mid week games- his timing of the runs as good as it gets.
Its the Welsh decision during the 6N that he doesnt come into the line that is one of the most bizzare that creates this misconception of attacking abilities. Reminds a little of Andre Taylors runs in sxv last year a little- theyre both quite short and pacy that way.

Re: The net worth of Halfpenny
It's the game plan Wales and I guess the Lions use - he's told to kick anything in his own half down field and in field and then chase up, and to run anything in the opposition half. Sadly the chances to run in the opposition half are limited when you kick the ball to them from your own half so we don't get to see it much. Luckily today we got the chance.
I wasn't surprised by his play - I've seen him do those runs and set up and score tries a fair amount for Wales over the years but they seem to be forgotten sadly.

It all started here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhQfu1ivJyM
Those performances at the Blues got him recognised, he was an electric winger who scored tries - now he is the very reliable fullback who kicks goals, but he always has that experience to call on.

Re: The net worth of Halfpenny
As for his Blues contract, I am hoping for some good news
He was already in high demand from Clermont before the series, so I don't think it will have a huge difference.
