First topic message reminder :

Hi all,

I, like many others i'm sure are excited about the release of GTAV on the 17th September 2013. I am extremely excited about this and today there was a gameplay trailer released and i have to say, like the other trailers so far it looks absolutely amazing. I think this game is going to be one of the best of all time. It is releasing for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on release.

Here is todays gameplay trailer if you wish to check it out.

While the single player was a fantastic gaming experience, the online side has been awful so far. Servers have been overloaded, and games are constantly timing out. I managed to get on for a bit today, created my character, did 3 missions before allowing it to autosave.

However when I went back on later to carry on non of my progress was there, in fact my character wasn't even there. They need to fix this which I'm sure they will just wondering how long it will take them.

This has happened to me. I didn't even manage to get to the online game, then when I gave up and went back to carry on the story, the game seems to have completely forgotten where I've got to! I'm unable to switch charactors and when I go to the icons such as freeks, the game doesn't recognise I'm there........it's like I'm the invisible man! Looks like I have to start again. furious

Just been playing the game and I was busy minding my own business walking down a street, hear some sirens so think immediately I've accidentally brushed past someone and I'll be shot by the idiot police, but I check and there's no stars flashing.
Before I have chance to look around though the cop car that's giving chase to a taxi for some reason ploughs into me on the pavement at full speed and kills me!
I died due to a random chase not involving me taking me out!

Got mauled by a shark early hours of this morning - saw the red dot coming my way and thought it was the guy whose boat I had jacked - and Jaws mum comes and thrashes me around. Need an underwater weapon I think. I think one of the surprises of this game are that the darts, the tennis and the golf are really quite fun to play despite their simplicity. Have been exploring the map and get all the cash available.

Im debating doing the storyline again and saving Lester's missions for last so as to do the stock market thing. (The missions are kill competing company bosses etc)

If you do play the stockmarkets in conjunction with the missions, at end game you can supposedly have 1.5b in cash.

Linkage to guide on it:
http://gamewise.co/games/17254/Grand-Theft-Auto-V/Cheats/Easy-Money-Guide/Assassination-and-Stock-Market

Also it gives me the chance to replay the heist missions and pick the other option for mission type.

The Golf Club costs $150m i think Chris, which is the highest costing property if i am correct but it would be nice to have the $1.5b in my opinion.

Its a great game but has anyone managed to purchase the properties before completing the story?

I reckoned I would have to rob just under 200 trucks to get a million. Do think its a flaw that you cant get enough money till after the end.

If anyone fancies some online shenanigans my PSN ID is Paulscott1972. If you haven't been online yet make sure you do and Rockstar should give you half a million ( steady its online cash ) to make up for the issues.

Played for the first time for about an hour today, did the prologue and a couple of Franklin's missions before running about a wee bit, new controls, car physics and a new map will take some getting used to but I think I'll get there in the end.

Frak me that Lester is annoying, reminds me of Ryder from San Andreas.

You've gotta save your money and purchase the stocks before assasination mission (one o them just after) you'll end up with a few million and as you complete the game complete the side missions. Michael starts off rich and he buys the more expensive properties so you should have enough money to make a lot of money - once you complete the assasination put all money into the relevant stocks (you can't lose!) for each player and you'll make enough to get most of the properties. You can also do things like purchasing some properties and make alot of money from completing tasks (like nuclear waste in sonar property halfway up the left of the map= $690000). Also do all the random events and you'll get 50000 cash or 100000 stock (mostly you get 50 odd dollars)

So did you manage to purchase all the properties before completing the story?

I'm still wondering about the golf course for instance?

The golf course is a hook to keep people playing.
Either keep playing to get the cash to get it, or redo storyline including playing the stock market to end game with enough cash to buy it.

The middle sized theatre gives more weekly return than the golf course, and is a snip of the price.

The Assassination missions you do as Franklin for Lester is a great chance to earn a lot of money for all three of your characters, as they can greatly affect the stock market. In fact, Lester even tells you this whenever you do the first mission, Hotel Assassination. Note that the BAWSAQ is linked to Rockstar's Social Club and requires an internet connection, so if Social Club is down, the BAWSAQ will also be unavailable.
Each mission will greatly affect a single stock, either in the LCN or the BAWSAQ. Before beginning the mission, you want to go to each character and invest a large sum of money (or even all) in the stocks listed below. If you wait until the mission starts, you are only limited to Franklin and will need to fail the mission to allow switching. It's best to do a Quick Save via your phone before starting the missions.
Once you do the mission, go to one of your safehouses and sleep around 3 times, which will pass time 6 hours each. When you wake up, you should have a huge return on the stocks you bought, so sell them all and roll in the money you earned. The following is a list of stocks to invest in, along with their corresponding mission.
Hotel Assassination - BetaPharmaceuticals (BAWSAQ)
The Multi Target Assassination - Debonaire Cigarettes (LCN)
The Vice Assassination - Fruit (BAWSAQ)
The Bus Assassination - Don't invest in anything, but invest in Vapid after if you want
The Construction Assassination - GoldCoast (LCN)

Something somewhere really doesn't want me to enjoy this game. Originally pre-ordered it this time last year for when it was scheulded for the May release, before it was pushed back to September. I was away for work for the first 2 weeks when it finally did release, and then the folks arrived from the UK the day I got home for 2 weeks.

This weekend was Thanksgiving here in Canada meaning Monday is a Bank Holiday. Mrs (nurse) on a late shift so plan on getting a good few hours in. As usual I'm first up in the house Sunday morning so play for a short while, just enough to look around San Andreas and unlock Micheal before the game freezes. Had no choice but to pull the power and it loads up okay before freezing again less than a minute later. This time I get 3 flashing red lights around the power button, follow the wizard on the xbox website and now it has to be sent away as it's a hardware problem. 6 years of use without so much as a crash and then this mad.
