Re: Ashes: First Test
The top three seamers in the world are Steyn, Anderson and Philander. If that's not being rated, then I'd love not to be rated!
This Agar innings is becoming a nuisence. Need as big a lead as possible with our batting!

Seriously, Agar does look like a decent lower order batting option.

He averages 34 in FC games with a top score of 71*, so he obviously has a bit about him.

Why is he batting 11? A cunning ploy by Lehmann maybe?

Agar is playing rather well for a first gamer at eleven...a useful twenty two added so far by this pair.
England will want to wrap it up smartly now...

Ashton Agar batting at 11
Reminds of me of club cricket when the young kid came in and whoever good he was, he'd bat at 11
Looks very decent with the bat

I kind of want Hughes to get some runs in this series because despite myself I do rate him a little and I enjoy watching him bat.

The little lad is very good and playing a t20 now. Looks very likely finns bad bowling and this lads hitting will see England chasing an aussie lead.
not a good end to the morning.

Agar is 29 from 29. This could be hugely costly. Partnership of 45! Jesus.

you are getting what you wished for and an aussie win could well follow now.
you asked for it Dizzle. This surface is flat. I wouldn't be surprised if these boys take them to a 100 lead at least by tea. world class tail. no tail.

Cook and Root just don't want to bat until this afternoon anyway. Better batting conditions then... Or something like that.

Agar and hughes- Very very good play..
this partnership is a ray of sunlight for the aussies.. Giveing me minor doubts and the aussie contengent minor hope.. All is not won/lost

Better bring Jimmy back. Finn is looking pretty poor here , just donating runs.
Still back Swann to get one in a minute. But that lead is shrinking fast.

Why does this so often happen to England?
Get a team 8 or 9 down, but then fail to finish them off?

Finn not getting his act together today. He has to bowl full and fast at the stumps rather than shortish lengths and inconsistent lines.

lack of killer instinct that the truly good teams have? no depth behind Anderson?
well played them but pathetic from England. a batsman and a toddler have show everyone how easy it is to bat out there.

Fifty partnership
Agar more like a number eight than a number eleven. Depends if he can bowl , I guess...
Does indicate there is nothing in the pitch for the bowlers now.

Well done to Australia... Showing that Australianess that saw them somehow nearly beat us in Adelaide, despite being woefully weaponless

Beefy does my head in sometimes. Moans about not bowling length, bowls length and Finn gets hit for 4 and then something else is wrong.

Trebell, the Adelaide test is the closest we came to defeat since 2011. Dead pitch, with Kleinveldt and Tahir bowling... God that was awful... Think even Amla tried to bowl.

shameful to be honest. he's playing t20 and England have nothing good enough.
I assume broad is too injured to bowl.
he has won the game. England can't bat as we know.
