Chickblacks
Not sure if there was a thread congratulating the NZ women on their 3-0 series clean sweep over England.
Returning the favour for England's equivalent victory at home.
The best two female teams in the world by a country mile, so well done to the Kiwi women.

The badminton team was called the Black Cocks but some idiot complained and they had to change the name. No different to the hockey Black Sticks who were able to keep theirs.

My mind is too warped for that. Happens if you YouTube 'The most offensive jokes ever'. There are 5 videos too. Not for the faint hearted though some are pretty gratuitous.

England ladies are ranked 4th in the world and were beaten by both France and Ireland in this years 6 nations so to claim that they are way ahead of the rest is just wrong. Just to get back on topic like.

I think you'll find we're all over GG. From my circle of friends I know Kiwis in Dubai, Berlin, Moscow, Avignon, Paris, Trieste and Paris. The concentrations may be different but language in Europe is an obstacle for some.
How did the intercambio by the way?

I was more referring to GG's casual racism in generalising New Zealanders and the ironic tense of him doing so in a claim that such people are themselves unable to sufficiently differentiate individual cultures. This belongs in the Guiness Book of Irony.

And they just lost the series in NZ. But...
They had beaten NZ in the UK, and had an experimental team in the 6N due to the attempt to get a decent 7's team together.
Wonderful achievement for Ireland to get the GS but a quick look at history shows that the previous 7 years England have won every time (6 GS)

I think everyone who follows the game realises the NZ and ENG are the top two sides by some distance.
ENG have the advantage of a more established, better funded, more professional set up. At home and at full strength, they are a tough nut to crack.

Its just a facade. I actually think he is obsessed with England. Most of his posts are related to England. Granted he does live there. Anyway in my experience the NZ media view of Europe is quite anglo centric so its no surprise.

I realise that alright. There are plenty of New Zealanders in Ireland too. Sometimes the NZ media really annoys me. GG embodies some of the nonsense I have read in the Kiwi press.
The intercambio went very well. I am doing another one tonight. Best way to learn a language for free. It really is. For anyone interested:

I said a lot of Kiwis. This is based on what I have read in the NZ press. If I was generalising I would be more likely to say all Kiwis. As for the claims of racism approx 80% of New Zealanders are of European origin and therefore of the same race as me not that you have any clue what race I'm from.
You think you're smart but you're really not.

You can generalise without saying all. Saying "most" is still a generalisation. If check the definition if I were you.
Also you can't generalise "most" kiwis by reading the press - that's just non sensical. You can only generalise journalists who write for the NZ press. And believe me when I say most kiwis don't write for the press.
And your stats:
It's 69% rather than 80% and that includes mixed race residents who at least partially identify with the group.
As to your other point - You don't need to be faster than a lion to avoid being eaten, you just need to be faster than the guy you're talking to.

Wrong again I didnt say most I said a lot. A lot can actually mean anything unlike your ridiculous lion analogy with doesnt mean anything at all.

Re: Chickblacks
I contest that "a lot can mean anything".
According to various dictionaries it can have about 6-10 different meanings.
In the context you are using it can only mean "a significant proportion". Which would be a generalisation and my "most" argument still stands.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that a few of them are (Sh)amateurs... eg they have jobs with some rugby clubs as physios, training assistants etc. but are not paid players.
Although I also seem to remember reading how a couple of them had to quit their jobs to play in the WRWC as their companies wouldn't release them for that amount of time off.
I think in general that the 'paid players' is a an easy jibe to throw at them by other teams and used as a smoke screen.

Please don't confuse me like that (and yes it is easy to do).
