Berto v Soto Karras

I'm surprised this one gets so little publicity, as it has the ingredients of a violent encounter in waiting. Berto, once tipped for great things must win. Both his sternest tests have showed him lacking the toughness and skill needed at the top level. He experimented with a philly shell in his last fight but looked pretty ridiculous in attempt to go Broner on Guerrero. A winner here may see him earn a chance to learn how it's meant to be done from The Problem himself...

Karras has multiple losses, little speed and often relies on a pretty outstanding chin and iron will to get results. It took 8 rounds of walking forwards against Maidana before he cracked after eating multiple counters and a finishing right hand from the heavy handed Argentinian.

This is chin v power. Will v speed. Berto must and should win, but he's had some tough fights and may have aged prematurely.

Could be a fun fight but unfortunately neither are A level fighters, both have been found wanting at the top level and while dangerous are beatable

Dont know who wins, if Berto can't get him out inside the first 4 you'd bet that Karass can beat him. Berto can be hurt and doesn't have a great work rate, but is explosive early. Karass doesn't get stopped early, but he has been in a lot of wars so may be stopped. He throws so many punches and will pile the pressure on Berto and try to beat him up and wear him down down the stretch like he tried to to do to Maidana before his chin failed him

Good win for karass, berto has got heart and is usually entertaining wouldn't mind seeing berto vs khan at WW

Massive set back for berto. You would imagine that this is the end of his time in to level fights. Usually in exciting fights though so should still have options

Berto fought one handed for 2/3 of the fight. He got sparked, but showed great determination. Great fight.

You have to take your hat off to Berto

He has been in a lot of wars and was probably was lacking confidence having had those losses, but he dug in and could have easily pulled out

Karass is a hard enough guy to beat as he throws so many punches, yet alone with one hand after the 4th. It took Berto hurting his right shoulder to realise he has a left hand, and a good one at that

He's a fan friendly so will be able to get big fights but its hard to see where he goes from here, maybe malignaggi after his good showing against Broner

Would love to see Karass-Broner, karass is tough as nails and hits a lot harder than paulie. Broner beat paulie but was outworked a lot and was caught a lot to the body and his own power didnt look all that impressive. Karass is bigger, stronger, hits harder, is tougher and knows how to dig in. Broner is better than Berto, but Berto hits harder and has survived wars yet still couldnt halt Karass so id doubt Broner could

I didn't see the fight but the reports suggest Berto was a bit unlucky to have been deemed unfit to continue by the ref in the 12th.

Karras was ahead on points anyway apparently.

Berto can still get fights but it looks like they will be as a gate keeper.

Absolutely great fight. Got to respect the pure guts of Berto as around the 4th and 5th rounds it looked certain he'd be stopped soon. As soon as Andre got it in his head he couldn't throw his right he did some great stuff with the left and rode dozens of clean punches.

The finishing punch wasn't a massive shot but it was perfectly timed and landed clean on the chin. He was out and can't complain about the stoppage. He got up but he was gone.

Does this mean Soto Karass gets Mayweather?

Ha maybe the new Mayweather in Broner since it sounds like team Broner aren't looking at Maidana and the only 2 fighters that the public would like to see him up against are tied up now

I honestly think that Karass can beat Broner, and if Malignaggi can outwork you and hit you to the body then Karass should have no problem
