----------------------Hooper-----------------------
Tactical Instructions:
Ruddy - Command the back three/five today. Anything floated up in the air, you come and get it. They will take shots from long range, so be ready, nothing will beat you from there if you keep your concentration. Look to distribute to the CB's or through the full backs.
Martin/Martins Indi/Bassong - Expecting a one up top, if so Martins Indi picks up, if two up top Bassong/Martin pick up, Martins Indi sweeps. All three of you have pace and are athletic, so have been chosen to deal with the pace in there side. Due to this we will be playing a high line, looking to squeeze the space and win the ball high up the field. Bassong/Martin help your wingback in defence when possible. When distributed the ball from Ruddy, find any of the midfield three.
Whittaker/Olsson - Big roles for you guys today. With the 3 CB's you have more license to get forward, as one will cover, however you must not forget your defensive duties. Look to force their wingers inside into the congested area. In attack get down that wing and get crosses in for our strikers.
Strootman/Fer/Howson - Strootman I want you to sit deeper, pick up the CAM, and nullify him. Howson/Fer due to this you will both be playing your best roles of box to box midfielders today. You two need to add pace, power and dynamism in attack, but also hussle in defence. All three of you are comfortable on the ball, so either look wide to the wing backs, or into RVW/Hooper's feet. Don't be afraid to have a shot yourselves. As a three keep us high up the pitch by really pressing them in midfield, and look to win the ball back high up the pitch.
RVW/Hooper - RVW you sit a little deeper and link the midfield to the attack. You have clever movement so look to find space, and then turn and look for Hooper or the wingbacks/Howson or Fer. Hooper you play on the last shoulder and use your pace to get in behind, and your poacher's ability in front of goal. Both get in the box from crosses and work as a pair when closing down the CB's. Don't let them play it out from the back.
Team Talk - Big game to kick off the season today lads. I want us to play high up the pitch and really show a lot of energy in pressing them when they are in possession, not allowing them to get into a passing game. We've got the athletic pacy back three to deal with their pace in attack, and the wingbacks as well. Howson/Fer look to dominate the game in the middle going box to box, whilst Strootman nullifies the CAM. RVW/Hooper finish your chances, with RVW sitting deeper linking the play. Lets get the season rolling with a win today lads!
Free Kicks - Fer
Corners - Fer
Pelanties - RVW
Substitutions:
If winning - 70 mins - Snodgrass for Hooper, Pilkington for Howson. Go 5-4-1 with conventional FB's, and Fer/Strootman CM, with Snoddy RM, Pilks LM and RVW up top. Shut up shop.
If drawing/losing - 70 mins - Hoolahan for Howson, Snodgrass for Whittaker, Redmond for Olsson. Go 3-4-1-2 with Hoolahan CAM, RVW/Hooper up top, Snoddy RM, Redmond LM. All out for the win

Teamtalk:
First game of the season so I expect you all to be up for this. We hope our opponents will feel the same, and as such draw them onto the front foot and expose the space in behind with our pace on the counter. Extra man in midfield today, should allow us to either match or dominate them in that area.
Defensive:- Rio to use his experience and read the game, Ogbonna to get more hands on with the main striker. If 2 play, Rio to take the 2nd striker.
- Pereira and Willems to be defensive primarily, I expect Toivonen and Wijnaldum to track back if their FBs get forward.
- Hoffmann to be the deepest of the midfield 3, cover a zone rather than a specific man. Be mindful of a striker dropping off the front.
- Paulinho to be box to box, Maher to be more advanced, both get stuck in midfield, deny them time on the ball. maher in particular to disrupt Strootman if he tries to control the tempo from deep.
- Front 3 to harass their defense when in possession
Offensive:- FBs to get forward 1 at a time and offer an overlap option.
- Look to find the wingers or Aubameyang quickly if we nick possession, Maher to move into the gap between the midfield and defense and make himself available.
- Paulinho to make runs later to make himself hard to be picked up.
- Maher to get on the ball in front of their back 4 and pick threatening passes or take a shot if the opening arises.
- Toivonen and Wijnaldum to run at the FB, look to mix it up outside and inside to keep them guessing. Look for a shot or cutback.
- Aubameyang to sit on the shoulder of the last man, use your pace to petrify their CBs and try and run in behind. Move the ball on quickly to avoid being overpowered.
Sub:
Narsingh for Wijnaldum: 70 minutes, like for like, fresh input of pace and energy
If losing, Matavz for Hoffmann, 70 minutes, go up top with Aubameyang. - Rio to use his experience and read the game, Ogbonna to get more hands on with the main striker. If 2 play, Rio to take the 2nd striker.

1st game lads, we want tight compact football, get the passing game going look to get the ball to our 3 attacking mids, let them at the opposition while the DMs act as an insurance policy, use Streller as a hold up man, get the ball to him when clearing.
GK, be in command, shout orders and keep things organised , come for crosses and either throw out the ball or kick long to Streller.
FBs, get on top of your man, control your flanks, dont let the behind you, keep them where your in control, dont commit and try to stop them getting into dangerous positions, look to get forward though, burst down the flanks and swing in crosses for streller.
CBs
if they go 1 up top Dragovic will mark the main man, If two i want zonal. either way get stuck in , throw your wright around, let them know there in for a fight.
DMs
Sit back Marshall the tempo, quick incise passing , act as the link between defense and Attack, look to dictate the game, look to get it to the 3 attacking Mids, when defending Die will track the main AM while Frei will hassle any deeper men and look to intercept passes, when attacking Die will remain deep while Frei will push forward slightly to try and collect and clearances.
LW/RW, look to get on the ball, run at your man, either push wide and get crosses in, or use the overlapping full backs as an option for a a distraction to either take it alone or link up which Neymar however i expect tracking back to cover 2v1s and double team the wingers.
AM, Free role, do what you do, run at and beyond players, us the Attention needed to mark streller to find room, defender will try to get at you so use that as a means to play it to others in space, Basically enjoy yourself, Shot from range if it it opens up.
ST
Use your strength and size to attract defenders, make them focus on you leaving room for other, look to get physical with the defenders, look to hold it up to get other into play and watch for runs coming off you, get in the box for crosses, look for our clearances and look to win headers and hold it up.

Leitner - Xhaka
Mirallas - de Jong - Eriksen
Milito
Subs: Moisander, Schone, Anelka, Bojan, Poulsen
Team talk:
Start of a new season so we want to hit the ground running. We want to play an attacking game and maintain possession when we get ahead to slowly kill the game.
Cillessen: Communicate, catch what you can and parry anything away from the goal.
van Rhijn/Blind: Both of you are encouraged to support the attacks so get up the field when we are in possession and provide width from deep. Don't get too deep into their half and always be aware of the break. When they're attacking make sure you hold your line with the CBs and push the wingers wide if you can to isolate them. Don't commit yourself so at worst you're slowing their attacking momentum.
Ruiz/Zapata: Stick together and communicate. Neither of you is assigned to follow the striker so take a zone and track him when he enters it, don't get dragged up field. Be watchful for people breaking from deep and keep your midfield informed of who they need to be following.
Leitner: Defensive role, so sit deeper and break up attacks by getting a foot in and hassling their advanced midfielders. Use your positioning and take smart angles to try and cut out passes and through balls.
Xhaka: Get on the ball from deep and move us forward with crisp incisive balls forwards. Make quick decisions and be on the move to be available for the next pass. When they are on the ball sit alongside Leitner, and see if you can win the ball back and set us on our way. When Leitner wins it, get going up field.
de Jong: Sit in between the midfield and defence and try to pick passes out to the wingers and the strikers. Don't be afraid to take a shot yourself and be keen to get up alongside Milito for any second balls or rebounds to gobble up.
Eriksen: Nominally on the left, but I won't shackle you there. You can go outside and get the ball across for Milito but equally you can drift inside to link with Siem and try to carve through the defence.
Mirallas: More of a traditional winger on the right, be direct and go both inside and out when taking your fullback on. Hang on the shoulder for balls over the top and use your speed to get on the end of things and either cross or shoot if you're in the right position.
Milito: Classic single forward, try and keep the CBs occupied and hang on their shoulders with an eye on where the space may be to get the ball to. Operate in the 18 yard box and be on the move when we have it wide.
Subs if winning
75mins
de Jong for Poulsen - Poulsen to sit deep alongside the other CMs and keep the lead.
If drawing/losing
75mins
Xhaka for Bojan - Bojan moves up top and we go 4-4-2 and just go for it.

TACTICS
Looking to start our campaign off with a victory. When defending move defensive to a 4-5-1 with everyone getting back behind the ball but when we have it we have three upfront with Marvin Martin looking to create in behind.
DEFENSE
Basa is the bigger and stronger of our defenders so he should look to win the headers and be the physical guy with Kjaer in behind looking to sweep up and cover. They lack a cutting edge upfront with Romarinho likely to play upfront, but he prefers to play deeper. The full backs should ensure they deal with their man first, come narrow if necessary as they may play with wide forwards. Balmont and Mavumba should work hard in front of the back four with both being good ball winners and Balmont having a fiery personality to stamp his authority on the game. If they play with Arteta in deep then Cassano should stick tight to him so he can't have time on the ball to play pretty passes forward.
ATTACK
Balmont has good vision and should try to play long passes forward, with our forwards having pace. Roux is strong and should battle with his full back in the air for the ball, exploit that weakness and look to cut inside, even come centrally with Cole and Beria expected to provide the width. Navas is our star man and should see plenty of the ball, take on the man and have a go, again cut inside when possible. Cassano is a tricky customer and should be full of running, be difficult to pick up and if they do try to man mark, then drop deep and cause a massive hole in the defense. Martin should get in behind and roam in between the lines, find the killer pass, run with the ball and shoot from range.
SET PIECES
Left Corner - Martin
Right Corner - Navas
Free Kicks - Navas
Penalties - Cassano
SUBSTITUTIONS
If winning bring on Thauvin for Cassano, move Roux upfront and Thauvin left midfield.
If drawing bring on Kalou for Martin, move to a 4-4-2.
If losing bring on Kalou and Olivera for Navas and Balmont. Move to an attacking 4-2-4.

Julio Cesar: There main route is down the wings so if any balls go in the box come collect then as they have small forwards. When in control release it into Arteta or out to a winger.
Defence tactics: Squeeze in to make a tight back 4 let them cross the ball we're taller then them and better in the air. Play a deep line so their pace can't get in behind
Gamez: Id expect your be up against Kalou/Roux, Squeeze on him and show him down the line, if cuts inside Ralf will help you. What we want to do is make sure he's tracking back so when we have the ball bomb forwards and overlap Joaquin to take advantage of the spare LB.
Gil: Keep in line with forward make sure if they try to pass into feet then get there before him, Make sure you keep in line with Ginter. If he goes onto Ginter watch for the AM coming on. With pass get it into Arteta or hit out wide for a counter
Ginter: I want you to watch for AM coming as Gil will pick up the forward. If sticks on you then force him away from goal with your physical presence. If their out wide help Felipe with Kalou/Roux
Felipe Luis: Your be up against Kalou/Roux, He's not quick but he's trick so watch the ball not he's feet , Gil will help you double him if he comes inside, Try force him down the wing. When we have the ball i doubt he'll want to track back so overlap Gomez to give their defence issues.
Ralf: Playing as DM today i want you to sit infront of the defence if one of them follows the forward out you drop in, When their outwide left then go out to cover the inside, If come through the middle get your tackles in and force them from goal
Arteta: Your going to be deep laying playmaker, I want you to spread the ball about out wide, into feet which ever is the best option, When having to defend just pick up another midfielder and make sure he doesn't have time on the ball
Renato Augusto: Your going box to box today i want you to get forward and link up with the front 3 when you can but when without the ball sit on their outlet for attacks.
Joaquin: Your playing as an inside right forward today, Gamez will overlap you to give you space to cause issues, look like switch sides with Gomez on occasions, When defending follow the winger back , if the full back goes stay and wait for the counter attack.
Ibai Gomez: Your playing as inside left forward, Their RB isn't a strong point for the side so we're going to attack him with help from Felipe , When on the ball take him on at pace go inside and out charge in towards their CB's if Felipe goes down the wing, When defending follow the winger back , if the full back goes stay and wait for the counter attack.
Guerrero: Expecting Basa/Kjaer to start at CB for them so it's all about movement, Stick to Kjaer and then make runs in behind the slow Basa. Use the pace you have to get in behind them and make sure when you do take your chances, Physically bully them with your presence.

Andreas Weimann - Gaston Ramirez - Bryan Ruiz
Romelu Lukaku
Subs: Mickey van der Hart, Nacho Fernandez, Morgan Schneiderlin, Lianne Rutherford (by request as she was next to me while writing), Adam Lallana, Francesco Totti, Jay Rodriguez
----------------------------
Manager's note: Tough opener against FC Zwag, they have a lot of quality players however moulding them into a team will be tough for them. I want us to play a flowing possession game, I want the wingers to cut inside but also remember their aim is to create chances for Lukaku. I want Gaston to roam, in a free role rather than as a statutory AM, drag their DM out of position if they play one, if they go with a pairing of Carrick and Gerrard then even better as neither can play the DM role very well. Fullbacks to be dominant, not to overcommit and be caught out of position. Enjoy yourselves, relax and keep the game flowing.
Boruc, distribute from the back to the fullbacks/CM's, stay in communication with your defence throughout, be wary of long range efforts and ensure you stay big for any one on ones.
Lovren/Rekik, if Zwag play two strikers I want you to take one each and Wanyama to drop back as a third CB, this will be no issue unless they field an AM and two strikers, in which case McCarthy will track the AM. If they only play one, Lovren to mark the striker and Rekik to clean up and be the CB who tracks any runs from midfield/out wide. When in possession, bring the ball out of defence. You're Croatian and Dutch respectively, it's not like I'm asking an English CB to do this. Feed the midfielders and wingers and also look for the free roaming Gaston.
Clyne/Fox, both good footballers but I need you to have more emphasis on defending today. Use the ball wisely, play the ball into the channels for the wingers Ruiz and Weimann, or pass infield to the CM's/Gaston. Against your opposing winger, force him outside, don't allow him to cut infield otherwise there will be too much pressure on our CB's/Wanyama. Force him wide and close him down tightly to prevent a cross coming in.
Wanyama/McCarthy, Wanyama to be our main DM, sit infront of the back four, fill in as an extra CB if necessary and track their AM if not. We anticipate Taarabt playing the AM role so if that happens, don't be dragged out of position. If Taarabt drops into midfield, let him go and McCarthy track him. Wanyama to sit and wait for Zwag's midfielders to get close to him. Don't allow Taarabt to shoot though. McCarthy to be our box to box player. Strength to win the ball and ability to find the passes to hurt Zwag. Look for the trio of Weimann/Gaston/Ruiz and if the pass is on, Lukaku. Without the ball and under pressure, join Wanyama as a DM and stop the likes of Gerrard.
Gaston, I want you to have a free role, however that free role must be in and around Michael Carrick when we don't have the ball. If we give Carrick time he can hurt us, if you harass him he will do what he always does and panic or go backwards. When we have the ball, drift deep, further forward, or out wide. Don't give Zwag's DM an easy ride. Attempt to drag him out of position to leave space for others. On occasion, switch with Ruiz to confuse the Zwag DM and RB, Ruiz can become the AM comfortably as can you become the LW. Look for Lukaku making runs or backing into the defenders, utilise the ball to feet with Lukaku's back to goal, so he can turn the CB and shoot like he can.
Weimann/Ruiz, Weimann a more traditional winger, used to linking up with Benteke so doing the same job for Lukaku should be no issue. Use your pace to beat their LB and get crosses in, alternatively cut inside and link with Gaston/Ruiz to supply Lukaku. If Lukaku drops wide, swap and get into the middle. Shoot if you get the opportunity as you have a good eye for goal. Ruiz, you will be more likely to cut inside anyway, link with Gaston and switch roles on occasion to keep the Zwag defence guessing. Shoot if the opportunity arises, but look for Lukaku as well.
Lukaku, lone striker but I want you to mark one CB. If they double mark you, drop wider to allow Weimann to run into the space. Look to turn and shoot, hold up the ball and supply the AM's of Weimann/Gaston/Ruiz as they make forward runs around you. Be bold for crosses, get a couple of yards run up to beat their CB's in the air and be your clinical self. Bully and torment their CB's as much as you can, and use your pace to run in behind when counter attacking.
------------------------
Subs 70 mins;
If winning: Weimann off, Schneiderlin on. Change to 4-5-1 with Schneiderlin joining Wanyama at DM, Ruiz and Gaston the wingers as we look to absorb pressure and counter attack.
If drawing: Ramirez and Ruiz off, Lallana and Totti on. Like for like, Lallana to LW/LM where Ruiz was, and Totti where Gaston was. Use fresh legs and fresh minds to create openings for Lukaku and to push on and win us the game.
If losing: Wanyama and Ruiz off, Totti and Rodriguez on. Gaston to LW, Totti to AM, Rodriguez joins Lukaku upfront as 4-2-3-1 becomes 4-1-3-2. Push for goals, fullbacks to advance a lot more as well.

Jallet----Campagnaro----Ricardo Costa----Yoon
Carrick----Gerrard
Hoilett----Candreva----Taarabt

Team Talk:
Tactics:
César: Read the game & keep your defenders informed. Keep focused & alert. Try claim crosses/corners around your 6 yard box. One on ones be quick & stay big.
Jallet: Keep an eye on the opposition winger, keep him wide, dont let him come inside, block crosses. Provide support for Hoilett, overlap when he tucks inside, low/med crosses from the touching or just stay in the central part of the pitch as Candreva will also be drifting. Do not cross from deep, pass infield to our midfielders.
Campagnaro: Expecting Lukaku as a lone striker, man mark him, stay close & dont let him turn you. Keep him away from goal, track his runs & use your experience to stop him getting in behind.
Ricardo Costa: Cover for Hugo or if a second strikers plays mark them. Use your reading of the game to be one step ahead. Use your in air ability to win headers & go up for our attacking set piece/corners attacking the ball around the 6 yard box.
Yoon: Your defensive duties are essential today, stay tight to the winger, stop him playing but as I want you attacking more today this should help to nick the ball from the opposition & break. Taarabt will drift inside a lot so you will have the room to get up the pitch & get crosses in.
Gerrard: Assist Carrick but play as a deep lying play maker. Due to your great work rate I want you covering for Yoon when hes out of position. Keep play ticking over, play the range/cross field balls when you can get Hoilett/Remy in behind. If the opportunity to get into the box from deep & attack the ball late arises take it but get back into position. Aim you corners/set pieces for Costa.
Carrick: Play you usual holding role, making tackles & interceptions. Cover for Jallet if hes out of position. With Gerrard you shall dictate the tempo. Want you to slow it down when required, always be on for a pass so you can keep play ticking over. Generally keep your passes short & simple, Gerrard will handle the range passing. If you do spot that ball for wingers or Remy to get in behind play it.
Candreva: As your playing in between the line of midfield & defense you should have space to operate. Your distance shooting ability is one to marvel at so feel free to shoot if you have the chance. Want you to rush the central players & win the ball. Look to play through balls for Hoilett & Remy. Look to always be on the move pushing on to support Remy. With Hoilett tucking in you have flexibility to drift out to the right, support Jallet & play in crosses. With our "wide" men playing narrow the option to drop back & form a three man midfield will provide stability & look to neutralist any counter attack.
Hoilett: Want you to use your pace to attack & pin the opposition back. Look to get in behind, at times drift inside to effectively play alongside Remy. When wide take your man on, he will expect you to cut inside so on the ball take it outside & look to cross. Off the ball drift inside. Track back if required.
Taarabt: With Gerrard covering Yoon you may need to drop central if Candreva are drifted out to the right. I want you tucking inside today, Yoon will use the space on the flank so he is an option to play in, make sure you are an option for his to pass inside to. Use your dribbling ability & trickery to beat your man, its essential to create space around the opponents box as I want you acting as our play maker in the last third. There will be plenty of passing options on the attack, use others runs as distractions when going on one yourself. Shoot on sight in & on the edge of the box.
Remy: Stay up top & stay central. Make your runs in this area, your pace will be key as Southampton lack it in central defense, passes from deep will come from Gerrard & Carrick & in the final third Taarabt/Candreva. You should always have some form of support but on the off chance you dont if you can hold the ball up, it shouldnt be for long before you do. Shoot on sight in the box. Look to win crosses/set pieces & always go for goal if its on. If one on one with the keeper, as your quick simply try round him, most likley outcome is an open net or you get brough down for a penalty.
Set Pieces:
Corners: Gerrard
Long Free kicks: Gerrard
Short free kicks: Taarabt/Gerrard
Penalties: Gerrard
Subs:
If winning in the 70th minute bring Barton on for Hoilett. Change to a 451, Barton to play alongside Gerrard & Carrick. Candreva will play on the right, Taarabt to play left. On the attack Candreva & Taarabtto drift inside to make a 433. See the game out.
If losing on the 70th minute bring Mackie on for Hoilett. Change to a 4132, Carrick holding. Gerrard push into central midfield, Candreva right, Taarabt left with Mackie partnering Remy.

TEAM TALK:
This is it lads. The first game of the new season. I bet you’re itching to get out there and prove you belong in the team. We have a tough opening fixture - FC WHU Do You Think You Are – but I know you’re capable of going out there and beating them. Let’s get our season off to a flyer!
TACTICAL SUMMARY:
1. Play to our strengths – a solid defence with Kehl protecting them, pacy wingers putting crosses in, the playmaking of Pirlo, and the trickery and directness of di Natale and Benteke.
2. Kehl and Pirlo need to control possession centrally, then bring the FBs and wingers into play so that we can capitalise on our team’s pace and get crosses into the box for Benteke and di Natale.
3. Di Natale has a free role behind Benteke to move wherever he needs to to get on the ball. Play alongside Benteke, off his right, off his left, wherever the space may be. Double up on the FBs with Holtby and Puncheon if you like, just attack them from all angles and gets shots on goal!
DEFENCE TACTICS:
* Stekelenburg must marshal the defence and ensure that everyone knows where their opponents are; when you have the ball try to release the wingers on a fast counter, if not possible, look to use the defence to start a move from the back
* Hangeland to look after Mandzukic – if we stop him they will struggle to score. Get tight on him, get your head on everything, make sure that he can’t go half a yard without bumping into you. Get inside his head and stay there
* Amorebieta to support Hangeland and if they play one, mark the second striker, if not, beware of wingers cutting inside the FBs and above all, make sure that if Mandzukic does steal free from Hangeland, that you’re there to clear the ball away
* Riether and Riise to keep the wingers out wide, stand up to them, ensure they can’t get balls in to the box. Get the ball to Kehl, Pirlo or your winger to start the attack moving.
* Kehl and Pirlo are to provide a defensive screen for the defence, make sure that their midfield is constantly hounded and pressurized into making mistakes. Don’t let them settle on the ball, especially Verratti, get in tight and make them nervous.
ATTACK TACTICS:
* Benteke will be playing off the shoulder of the slowest CB, as his pace will gain him the space he needs to get free of his marker. If the other CB tries to mark you, move to the slower CB - this confusion will open space for di Natale to burst through. Finally, look to make late runs into the box to connect with the crosses coming in from wide.
* Di Natale has a free role behind Benteke to move wherever he needs to to get on the ball. Play alongside Benteke, off his right, off his left, wherever the space may be. Double up on the FBs with Holtby and Puncheon if you like, just attack them from all angles and gets shots on goal!
* Puncheon and Holtby to beat their men for pace and get crosses into Benteke and di Natale and Pastore; they have license to come inside, bring the ball forward, do whatever it takes to give their FBs a torrid time
* Pirlo will dictate the tempo of the game, draw the opposition towards him and find the wingers with clever passes that will spring an attack
Subs:
If winning – on 70mins – Berbatov on for di Natale
Sit in the hole, draw players away from Benteke and play him or the wingers in.
If drawing or losing – on 70mins – Lambert and Januzaj on for Puncheon and Holtby
Change to a 4-3-1-2, with Lambert and Benteke the target men and di Natale in a free role off them. Januzaj to harass the opposition with his young legs, and use Kehl and Pirlo to get the ball forward asap.

Team Talk: First game of the new season with places to fight for. Fool Em are very strong up front so we have gone with a strong back three to combat Benteke/Lambert/Berbatov. Diamé as the enforcer who is there to break legs behind another solid three in our central midfield. Fulham are lacking out wide so we are going to slow it down in the middle. Noble to stick to Pirlo like glue and prevent him from settling. We need to get it wide to Vaz Te or Jarvis whenever possible for them to ping it in for Mandz to put away. Three points to start off is essential
Jaaskelainen - Control your box, claim the ball in the air
Reid/Collins/Tomkins - Work as a three to snuff out any problems, I would expect they will play two up front so we will outnumber them. Reid to lead us at the back. I want very much zonal marking today
Diamé - Break legs and mess people up! Its what your good at so do it today. I can see Holtby being near you to start with so throw him off his game, likewise you have the strength to muscle Bentekers off the ball so do it then as well. If we dont let them play we win!
Noble - Marking Pirlo is your goal today, go where he does. When the ball gets to Pirlo... BAM its Mark Noble! When we get the ball I don't want you getting forward too much. Keep it simple and get it to Verratti/Lamps
Verratti - They have Pirlo but we have Pirlo+. Play your gorgeous passes out wide to Vaz Te and Jarvis, Fool Em are week at fullback so lets exploit that. If you get a chance to shoot do. When they have the ball get back and make sure we win it back
Lampard - Captain fantastic! Run the show today. You have license to get forward and prove that you're still a huge goal threat. With you and Mandzukic we have two of the best goalscorers in the league
Vaz Te/Jarvis - You could well be our MVP's today, keep running and attacking. Aim crosses in for Mandzukic or get the ball into the path of Lampard. Their defence as a whole lacks pace so exploit that today
Mandzukic - In the side for goals today, simple as. Get on the end of everything, dont let the work rate drop and look to either get a shot off or bump it into the path of lampard. We can win today, and whats more you can make it happen!

Team talk:
Great start but we’re hit a bit by injuries today so I’ve shuffled the pack a little. There is some method to the madness though. We’re expecting a 4-2-3-1 from the opposition (although I’ve not much to base that on) so we’re going to keep a solid back four and a DM back in front and the rest of the side will keep narrow and try and make the most of the numbers we’ll have in the middle.
Vermeer: Welcome back. Don’t be a prat. Catch everything you physically can, read the game and feed back to the defence.
van Rhijn/Blind: Both of you will likely be up against a winger one on one, so stick with them all game. Keep your shape though, if they drift inside let them drift inside and the midfielder or spare defender will pick them up. Stay in line with your CBs and support to the half way line but no higher.
Moisander/Zapata: You’re both responsible to mark the main forward, so communicate with each other and let the other know he’s covered. The spare man should be watchful and snuff out any midfielders bursting forward. Don’t get dragged deep; solid line today.
Leitner: Sit deep in midfield and disrupt their attacks when they come central. In the unlikely event a FB is out of position, cover him but otherwise get your foot in, make an interception or two and play the simple ball forwards.
de Jong/Xhaka: When we have the ball be aggressive and get up field. If you have it, drive forward and try and make headway. Any time they lose it we want them to be frightened of our counter attack. If we lose the ball, funnel back and operate in the middle to try and neutralise their threat. Always be looking to get back up the pitch when we have it. Always be an option in the middle.
Varela/Mirallas: Directness and pace from you both today. Get on to the ball and run at men, try and commit them but play the pass at the right time. We have a centre forward today so getting to the byline and getting it across will reap rewards. If you’ve got the space inside though, don’t be afraid to duck in and either shoot or slip someone else in. If their full backs are uber attacking, start to track them but with an eye on beating them back up field when we win it.
de Jong: Stay central and be an outlet for the long pass if we’re pressured. Mostly though you’ll be getting balls across from wide or played through the middle to your feet. Be on the move if we’re attacking at pace and try and find the space where you can. When the ball is whipped in, stick your head in. I don’t care if you get kicked in the face, you jerk.
Subs on 75mins
If losing
Throw on Milito for Leitner, go 4-4-2 and get a goal at all costs.
If winning
Bring Mirallas off and stick Poulsen on. Go rigid at 4-5-1 and put de Jong on the left.

GK: Communication is key, instruct and inform your back four, tell them what is required from them with direction and purpose, command them and they shall respect you. Be dominant on crosses, make yourself big on shots. Look to be the first line of attack when you have the ball with your distribution and catch the opposition on the break.
CBs: Alderweireld to marshall the back line, a physical approach to the game, go toe to toe with the main striker and time tackles keeping goal side of him. Dominguez is to deal with a SS or any runs that have broken through
FBs: Look to keep their wingers pushed to the outside as much as possible, don't go to ground and hold up play. When the opportunity arises then use the flanks going forward and work with the high wingers to whip balls into their box.
DM: Kramer tasked with the role of disrupting the flow of their AM, timely tackles and intelligence of the game rather than clumsy lunges and heavy handedness is key, ensure as the anchor that you break up the flow of their attack and don't let them get control of the game.
CM: Xavi, the playmaker of the team, move the ball into space, always be one step ahead of the opposition and control the flow of the game, know when to hit a killer pass into space and when to slow the movement of the game down, infuriate the opposition with this misdirection and then pounce like a cat with its prey.
AM: Play in the hole and look to link up play between Xavi and our forward three, also don't be afraid to crack one from distance. When required drop deeper and assist in midfield duties to take pressure off Xavi.
WG: Bernard and Hermann have a fluid role as wingers, both with the remit to come inside whenever available, use their speed and creativity to always be one step ahead of their defensives with tricks and movement, when the other winger has the ball then ensure you get into the box to assist Villa. Pressure their FB in their half but look to retain the high line of pressure.
ST: Villa come from deep dragging markers with you if possible, look to time runs into the box from the deeper position to beat through the offside trap and meet the passes from Bernard and Hermann
Subs:
If losing at 70m. Fischer > Bernard: like for like but with fresh legs the speed against a tired FB should push through.
At 80m Bakkali > Villa: 10 minute run out for the new wonder kid with the simple remit of go out and impress.

Candreva----Carrick----Gerrard----Granero

Klose
Team Talk: Let go for the win today. We have set up to be solid at the back, play on the counter & using Taarabt as you attacking focus. Defensively we are set up as a 4411, when attacking our wide men will push forward setting us up as 4231.
Defence: Set up with two banks of four. Stay organised as this will make us hard to break down. Carrick & Gerrard will look to win the ball back quick in midfield & move it to Taarabt.
Attack: Based around Taarabt. When pushing forward or breaking we will look to get the ball central to Taarabt. Carrick & Gerrard will distribute the ball wide or to Taarabt. When wide we will look to cross for Klose. Gerrard will also look for the ball over the top for Klose with Taarabt running on.
César: Communicate with your defence, keep the organised. Claim any balls around your 6 yard box. Be quick & stay big for one on ones.
Simpson: Defensively you'll probably face Muniain, he's a threat so you will need to stay with him, he at hes best coming inside so try keep him wide, if he comes in try force him into bodies, crowd him out with Kirchhoff or Carrick. Aim crosses for Klose.
Kirchhoff: If two strikers mark the second, Its doubtful though. Act as cover, sweeper as such. Watch for SS/AM on coming runs, if the wingers gets inside of out fullbacks get across to them.
Costa: Man mark the striker. With Drogba injured the main threat is out. Any of 2/3 could start but you have the attributes to beat all in the air, mark & keep away from goal.
Peluso: Defensively you will need to mark the winger. Keep him wide or if he gets inside of you we will crowd him out. When attacking get crosses in from deep or touchline to aimed for Klose.
Gerrard: With Carrick holding you can roam the central area. Help him keep the lay ticking & ball moving. Cover for Peluso if hes out of position & also assist him to control the winger if he comes inside. When pushing further up the pitch look for Taarabt. Shoot from range if the chances arises.
Carrick: Play your game making tackles & interceptions. Keep the ball moving & the play ticking over. Don't take too long on the ball, I have a feeling you will be targeted so make a short simple pass soon as you spot it. Cover for Simpson if hes out of position, assist him shutting out the winger if he gets inside.
Candreva: Track opposition fullback if the push forward. Stay in that wide area, get crosses in aimed for Klose. Get up the flank, come inside on occasions. If you come inside shoot from distance, look for Taarabt runs or Remy on the far side.
Granero: You get the nod ahead of Remy as I need your to work defensively as well as offensively. You give more of a balance then Remy. Track the opposition fullback if he goes forward. Push up the flank, can come inside at times. Get crosses in for Klose. When looking inside find Taarabt.
Taarabt: You will be out main attacking focus, I am building the attack around you. You can roam that central area, try not to drift wide. Look to play the wide men in. Support Klose, make the runs into the box, off Klose. Attempt dribbles, shoot around the box or look for that "eye of the needle" ball to Klose.
Klose: Play off the last defender. Hold the ball up when support is required. Stay central & stay in/or around the box. Go for all crosses, they will come from deep & the last third. If you cant head for goal try knock down for Taarabt. Shoot on sight in the box, use your experience to find space & keep your composure.
Set Pieces:
Corners: Gerrard
Long Free kicks: Gerrard
Short free kicks: Taarabt/Gerrard
Penalties: Gerrard
Subs: If losing or drawing on the 65th minute: Remy on for Granero. Play 4231 with Candreva & Remy playing wide but making runs inside to get closer around Klose. Our fullback will push further up with pitch providing width. Crosses aimed for Klose who can go for goal or knock down for the three men supporting him. Gerrard & Carrick will sit deep breaking up play & playing the ball forward in the air to Klose. We will look to use Klose' in air ability to will the ball high up the pitch which he will feed the runners.

We go with a possession game today, keeping the ball with our central players. Our width will be provided with our FBs bombing on at every opportunity. Defensively, we keep a tight unit centrally and flood the middle of the park, stopping their ball players from having the space to play.
GK Stand tall, come for crosses that are close to you making them need to aim crosses further out. Distribute short as much as possible. Be on your toes for balls in behind the defence and sweep them up.
FBs Today you are attackers as much as defenders. When you are back, pick up your winger and keep them facing away from goal. But as soon as you have the opportunity to attack, do it!.
CBs – Barzagli will pick up the main striker. Martinez will pick up any second striker, or play spare. He will sweep up loose balls and watch for runners from midfield.
Deep Mids –. Iturasppe will sit and break up the opposition attacks. He will protect the back four and will slot in alongside the CBs when the FBs bomb on. Benat and Oscar will get on the ball and keep it moving. Plenty of short passing and moving, being patient until opportunities appear. Benta will sit slightly deeper as the “quarter back” whilst Oscar will play more box to box. Defensively, support Iturraspe in protecting the back four to give the FBs the freedom to get forward.
Attacking midfielders –Both of you have a free role today to cause maximum damage Keep passing and moving, get in support of the CF, go wide, drop deep to collect the ball – whatever your instinct, go for it.. Defensively, pressurise the ball as soon as we lose it
Centre Forward – focal point of the attack. Play off the shoulder and look to get in behind. When the ball is out wide, the ball will be coming across the keeper, and your job is to get on the end of it. Defensively, pressurise the ball as soon as we lose it.

Cassio: There main route is down the wings so if any balls go in the box come collect then as they have small forwards. When in control release it into Arteta or out to a winger.
Defence tactics: Squeeze in to make a tight back 4 let them cross the ball we're taller then them and better in the air. Play a deep line so their pace can't get in behind
Gamez: Squeeze on winger and show him down the line, if cuts inside Gargano will help you. What we want to do is make sure he's tracking back so when we have the ball bomb forwards and overlap Joaquin to take advantage of the overlap and get the ball in
Vidic: Keep in line with forward make sure if they try to pass into feet then get there before him if not try and bully him, Make sure you keep in line with Ginter. If he goes onto Ginter watch for the AM coming on. With pass get it into Arteta or hit out wide for a counter
Ginter: I want you to watch for AM coming as Vidic will pick up the forward. If sticks on you then force him away from goal with your physical presence. If their out wide help Felipe with the wingers
Felipe Luis: Your be up against a winger, they use tricks so watch the ball not he's feet , Ginter will help you double him if he comes inside, Try force him down the wing. When we have the ball i doubt he'll want to track back so overlap Augusto to give their defence issues.
Gargano: Playing as DM today i want you to sit infront of the defence if one of them follows the forward out you drop in, When their outwide left then go out to cover the inside, If come through the middle get your tackles in and force them from goal
Arteta: Your going to be deep laying playmaker, I want you to spread the ball about out wide, into feet which ever is the best option, When having to defend just pick up another midfielder and make sure he doesn't have time on the ball
Xabi Prieto: Your going to be AM today i want you to get forward and link up with the front 3 when you can but when without the ball sit on their outlet for attacks. Look to get in behind the defense
Joaquin: Your playing as an inside right forward today, Gamez will overlap you to give you space to cause issues, look like switch sides with Gomez on occasions, When defending follow the winger back , if the full back goes stay and wait for the counter attack.
Renato Augusto: Your playing as inside left forward, Their RB isn't a strong point for the side so we're going to attack him with help from Felipe , When on the ball take him on at pace go inside and out charge in towards their CB's if Felipe goes down the wing, When defending follow the winger back , if the full back goes stay and wait for the counter attack.
Guerrero: it's all about movement, Stick to the slowest defender and then make runs in behind . Use the pace you have to get in behind them and make sure when you do take your chances, Physically bully them with your presence. Make sure you in the box for crosses from out wide

Team Talk: Injuries have not been kind for us again this week so we have gone 3-5-2 to combat a strong Lille side. Cole and Jarvis to work very hard on the wings with Noble dropping deep to make a back four when they have the ball. Look to break quick and get it wide to Cole and Jarvis, aim for the big head of Carroll with him knocking it down for Lamps or Mandzukic. Lets kickstart our season with a win and prove we mean business
Jaaskelainen - Command your box and claim any crosses
Tomkins - Marshall the defence, it is imperative that you communicate where their forward line is. When they have the ball you will have Noble in beside you
Rafinha/Rat - When they have the ball I want you to force their wingers out wide, Navas is dangerous but in Tomkins we have height in our favour on crosses, I need you to keep the energy up throughout as you will be kept busy. When we have the ball form a strong back three alongside Tomkins, I don't want you getting forward today
Noble - When they have the ball I need you back to form a back four, you are a solid defender and thats what we need today, when we have it then you have permission to move forward providing that you can get back. Keep things simple and get the ball to Verratti/Lamps
Verratti - Play the Pirlo role you do so well! Spray the ball out to the wingers or up to Carroll. Dont shy away from getting forward and supporting our attacks. We will outnumber them in the middle of the park so lets make that count
Lampard - Boss the game, bursting forward when appropriate. As already mentioned we will be winning numbers wise in the middle so you should always have an option. When you are in position have a crack at goal, afterall you are still one of the worlds best
Cole/Jarvis - As stated in the team talk big games today. I need you to be aiming crosses at the big head of Carroll. Joe, if you want to drift inside then you can as long as you are back in position when they have the ball. You can win the game for us today. Beat their fullbacks on the outside before whipping it in or cross from deep
Mandzukic/Carroll - One target man, one poacher. As simple as it comes. Aim for the big ponytailed god up front in the air who can then knock it down. Their CBs are relatively weak so lets exploit that, and they will not appreciate being roughed up. Mandz to focus on goals goals goals, they will only be expecting one cf so we can catch them by surprise by Carroll keeping whoever is set to mark you busy which will then allow Mandz to play off the shoulder

TACTICS
A 4-4-2 this week, we are expecting our opponents to dominate the middle of the park and make things difficult for us to play. We are going to focus on using the wings today to win the game. When we do not have the ball, one of the two forwards should drop deep to pressurize their defensive midfielder/deep lying playmaker (presumably Verratti) with the two banks of four in behind.
PLAYER INSTRUCTIONS
Elana - Very experienced keeper, obviously look to make saves and look to distribute the ball short.
Coleman - Look to get forward whenever possible, get crosses into the box and have a real go. Defensively, match Jarvis for pace and jockey him wide.
Basa - Mandzukic and possibly Carroll will be upfront, use your height advantage to beat Mandzukic aerially. Be strong in the air and lead the back four line.
Kjaer - Use your pace to sweep up, let Basa go for the headers as you are the quicker of the two should get in behind.
Cole - Get forward if possible but look to stop the winger first, be a solid part of our back four. Use all of your experience to be a defensive leader.
Navas - Loads of runs down the wing, have a real go at the full back and get to the byline or into the box. Use your passing and shooting ability, make something happen. Look to stretch their RCB out wide if they have three at the back, stretch the defense.
Balmont - Sit deep and be part of a midfield unit. Be able to receive the ball and look for long distance passes. When they have the ball don't be shy to dive in and win back the ball. Don't let Lampard have any space to get shots away on the edge of the box.
Mavuba - Again, looking to go in with tackles but expecting more running forward. Obviously watch out for them on the counter attack and you should be in a position just outside the box so that you can get back and help Balmont.
Großkreutz - An intelligent player, can get inside or go out. Cross low, with Roux and Cassano making the runs, and look to stretch the defense by running wide.
Cassano - A tricky customer and should be full of movement, be difficult to track. They lack pace in defense so that could be something for you to take advantage of. Be full of clever runs and be sneaky getting on the shoulder of the last man. When we don't have the ball, either you or Roux should help out defensively with the other staying high up for the counter.
Roux - Like Cassano, plenty of clever movement. You have the power to cause problems and are prolific in front of goal. Their centre backs are not the most mobile so we should be able to create chances if we drag them out of position.
SET PIECES
Left Corner - Großkreutz
Right Corner - Großkreutz
Free Kicks - Navas/Cassano
Penalties - Cassano
SUBSTITUTIONS
If winning bring on Martin for one of the forwards, move to a 4-5-1 and hit them fast on the counter attack.
If drawing bring on Martin and Thauvin for Mavuba and Großkreutz. Remain in a 4-4-2 but Martin provides a more attacking threat to the midfield, with Thauvin providing a different threat.
If losing bring on Sanogo and Martin for Balmont and Mavuba. Großkreutz and Martin should play at CM, with Roux and Navas wide in a 4-2-4.

Fool Em FC vs The Nodge

- Fool Em FC v The Nodge
-------------- Stockdale
Riether – Amorebieta – Distin – Balzaretti
------------ Kehl --------- Pirlo
Giaccherini ----------------------- Holtby
---------- Lambert ---- Benteke
Subs: Etheridge, Puyol, Riise, Boateng, Januzaj, Berbatov, Duff
Injuries: Maarten Stekelenburg + Brede Hangeland + Antonio Di Natale + Alexander Kacaniklic
TEAM TALK:
A fantastic win last week lads – now we have a chance to make it 2/2! Let’s attack The Nodge from the off, run at them, put the fear of God into them with our directness, and put their CBs under pressure with our two fantastic headers of the ball. Let’s go out there and score some goals! They are missing three quality strikers, let’s keep them pegged back in their own half so they can’t create anything!
TACTICAL SUMMARY:
1. Play to our strengths – a solid defence with Kehl protecting them, pacy wingers putting crosses in for two excellent headers of the ball, and the playmaking of Pirlo making things tick
2. Kehl and Pirlo need to control possession centrally, then bring the FBs and wingers into play so that we can capitalise on our team’s pace and get crosses into the box for Benteke and Lambert.
3. Lambert to play alongside Benteke, bully your CBs, swap markers so they can’t get comfortable, and win your headers to get attempts in on goal.
DEFENCE TACTICS:
* Stockdale must marshal the defence and ensure that everyone knows where their opponents are; when you have the ball try to release the wingers on a fast counter, if not possible, look to use the defence to start a move from the back
* Distin to look after Altidore – if we stop their main outlet they will struggle to score. Get tight on him, get your head on everything, make sure that he can’t go half a yard without bumping into you. Get inside his head and stay there
* Amorebieta to support Distin and if they play one, mark the second striker, if not, beware of wingers cutting inside the FBs and above all, make sure that if Altidore does steal free from Hangeland, that you’re there to clear the ball away
* Riether and Balzaretti to keep the wingers out wide, stand up to them, ensure they can’t get balls in to the box. Get the ball to Kehl, Pirlo or your winger to start the attack moving.
* Kehl and Pirlo are to provide a defensive screen for the defence, make sure that their midfield is constantly hounded and pressurized into making mistakes. Don’t let them settle on the ball, especially Strootman, get in tight and make them nervous.
ATTACK TACTICS:
* Lambert to play alongside Benteke, bully your CBs, swap markers so they can’t get comfortable, and win your headers to get attempts in on goal.
* Giaccherini and Holtby to beat their men for pace and get crosses into Benteke and Lambert; they have license to come inside, bring the ball forward, do whatever it takes to give their FBs a torrid time
* Pirlo will dictate the tempo of the game, draw the opposition towards him and find the wingers with clever passes that will spring an attack
Subs:
If winning – on 70mins – Berbatov on for Lambert
Sit in the hole, draw players away from Benteke and play him or the wingers in.
If drawing or losing – on 70mins –Januzaj on for Giaccherini
Same formation, Januzaj to harass the opposition with his young legs, and use Kehl and Pirlo to get the ball forward asap. Everyone to attack more.

--------------Howson------------------
--------------Altidore-------------------
Team Talk - Good point last week, we look to build on that this week against Fool em. We are setting up with a solid two banks of four, with Howson in support of Altidore. We are looking to dominate the midfield and play a good possession based game, with patient build up stemming from the middle, and with our wingers offering a great threat. In defence we hold a high line, with our athletic CB's able to use their pace to cover anything, it also allows us to press high up the field. Go out there and get the win today lads!
Ruddy - Communicate, catch what you can and parry anything away from the goal.
Martin/Davies - Both of you are encouraged to support the attacks so get up the field when we are in possession and provide width from deep. Don't get too deep into their half and always be aware of the break. When they're attacking make sure you hold your line with the CBs and push the wingers wide if you can to isolate them. Don't commit yourself so at worst you're slowing their attacking momentum.
Martins Indi/Bassong - Stick together and communicate. Neither of you is assigned to follow the striker so take a zone and track him when he enters it, don't get dragged up field. Be watchful for people breaking from deep and keep your midfield informed of who they need to be following.
Strootman - Defensive role, so sit deeper and break up attacks by getting a foot in and hassling their advanced midfielders. Use your positioning and take smart angles to try and cut out passes and through balls.
Fer - Get on the ball from deep and move us forward with crisp incisive balls forwards. Make quick decisions and be on the move to be available for the next pass. When they are on the ball sit alongside Strootman, and see if you can win the ball back and set us on our way. When Strootman wins it, get going up field.
Howson - Sit in between the midfield and defence and try to pick passes out to the wingers and the strikers. Don't be afraid to take a shot yourself and be keen to get up alongside Milito for any second balls or rebounds to gobble up.
Snodgrass/Redmond - Both wingers who can play either side so switch throughout. Want you both to mix it up by cutting inside and shooting or crossing or simply laying off for an on rushing midfielder. Both of you must get back in when we defend and double up with your FB's.
Altidore - Classic single forward, try and keep the CBs occupied and hang on their shoulders with an eye on where the space may be to get the ball to. Operate in the 18 yard box and be on the move when we have it wide.
Penalties - Snodgrass
Free Kicks - Snodgrass
Corners - Snodgrass
Subs:
70 mins - Snodgrass for Bennett, Pilkington for Redmond, Howson for Hoolahan. New creative force going forward, keep them on their toes whether we are in front or behind.

Team talk: a lot of positives to be taken last week despite the loss and we've brought in Capoue to add a much stronger spine to the centre of the pitch whilst our fullbacks are really improved upon last week. Villa is going to play this week as an out and out striker, hanging in an offside role and looking to poach.
When the opportunity arises then use the flanks going forward and work with the high wingers to whip balls into their box for Villa.
DM: Capoue to break up the flow of play of the opposition, keep it simple, no heavy lunges but just well timed tackles and intelligence to read the game, disrupt their flow through the centre and force them to change their plans. When you have the ball then simple layoffs to Xavi or onto the wings. Look to protect the flanks if our FBs go forward.
CM: Xavi, the puppetmaster, pull the strings in the centre of the pitch. Ahead of you is the movement, with Bernard, Kruse and Hermann you have a plethora of options, alternate between them with balls to feet, tire the opposition down chasing shadows.
AM: Play in the hole and look to link up play between Xavi and our forward three, also don't be afraid to crack one from distance. When required drop deeper and assist in midfield duties to take pressure off Xavi. If there's the space knock a few well timed through balls through to Villa.
WG: Bernard and Hermann have a fluid role as wingers, both with the remit to come inside whenever available, use their speed and creativity to always be one step ahead of their defensives with tricks and movement, when the other winger has the ball then ensure you get into the box to assist Villa. If needed go on the outside and whip balls across the box for Villa to connect with. Where needed drop back and assist our FBs to stop them being doubled up on.
ST: Villa to play on the last shoulder, come in from an offside role when available and drag their back line back, use your timing and reading of the game to burst onto crosses or through balls.
Subs:
If losing at 70m. Fischer > Bernard: like for like but with fresh legs the speed against a tired FB should push through.
At 80m Hrogta > Villa: 10 minute run out for the new wonder kid with the simple remit of go out and impress.

Jallet----Campagnaro----Costa----Peluso
Carrick----Gerrard
Candreva------------Hoilett
Castro
Rémy
Team Talk: Still looking for our first win, todays match is a tough one. Setting up with a 42211 as I want Candreva & Hoilett to drop when we dont have possession forming a midfield bank of four, help park the bus, we want men behind the ball when defending. Going to play on the counter today so we have gone with pace attacking.
Defence: Set up with two banks of four. Stay organised as this will make us hard to break down. Carrick & Gerrard will look to win the ball back quick in midfield & move it forward.
Attack: Candreva, Hoilett & Castro ill be looking for your guys to get forward, support Remy. All three of you can play across that midfield so when going forward id like you to interchange position, this should help find space, drag markers out of position & make you harder to mark.
César: Communicate with your defence, keep the organised. Claim any balls around your 6 yard box. Be quick & stay big for one on ones.
Campagnaro/Costa: Expecting Villa upfront. If so want Campagnaro to mark him, hes not as quick as he used to be but he can still be a handful so do your best to restrict his play. Costa to cover, read the game & clean up, watch for any runs from a SS/AM or any other attackers. Costa to go up for corners & attack the front post.
Jallet/Peluso: First half dont attack. Go up to the halfway line to support midfielders when we are in possession. If the opposition play with wingers/wide men mark them & try take them out the game. If their wide men want to come inside you may need to track them, try force them into a crowd with our DM.
Carrick/Gerrard: Look to dictate the tempo & play. Carrick will hold while Gerrard will have more permission to roam that central area. Look to retain possession. Going forward try find any of the three in front of you or Remy's runs. Gerrard to shoot from distance if the shot is on. Gerrard to aim set pieces to Costa.
Gerrard: Defensively, when we don't have possession I want you to stick on Xavi, follow him, get physical with him & restrict him playing.
Candreva/Hoilett/: Defensively drop to make a four man midfield. Assist our fullbacks in winning the ball off the opposition wide men. If their fullback attack I want you to pick them up allowing our fullbacks to stick with their man. On the counter, look to move up the pitch quick & get into space. Limit crosses today keep the ball on the deck, if we can get interchanging positions, with Castro too, some quick movement with one/two touch passing should see us create chances. Both have permission to shoot from the edge of the box.
Castro: Defensively drop onto one of the deep lying & try restrict his influence on the match. Attacking do what you do best, roam in between lines, pick the ball at & run at defenders. You movement in this area will be vital to breaking though their defense. Support Remy when central. Interchange with Candreva & Hoilett. Shoot from inside the box. Look for Remy's runs & use them as a distraction or play him in.
Remy: Play off the last shoulder, use your pace to get in behind. Want you to pressure the oppositions centre backs into mistakes. Shoot when in the box. Stay central & let the three behind you provide the support on the break.
Set Pieces:
Corners: Gerrard
Long Free kicks: Gerrard
Short free kicks: Taarabt/Gerrard

We want to take control of the game and dominate possession. Attacks will be patient but clinical in the final third.
Vermeer: Communicate, catch what you can and parry anything away from the goal.
van Rhijn/Boilesen: Both of you are encouraged to support the attacks so get up the field when we are in possession and provide width from deep. Don't get too deep into their half and always be aware of the break. When they're attacking make sure you hold your line with the CBs and push the wingers wide if you can to isolate them.

Team Talk: Up against Ajax, They like to pass & move so we're filling centre of midfield to counter this. Then we're going to counter them on the break
Cassio: Clear any balls knocked in behind defense, release to full back.
Defense: Sit deep negate their pace, If they manage to get the cross in then Vidic to clear
Jesus Gamez: Up against Varela, Show him inside towards the midfield make sure he doesn't get a cross in. Try make him go the other way by supporting out wide when we're in possesion
Vidic: Stick to the main forward presumably De Jong/Milito, keep tight to them and bully them about, throw yourself infront of their shots, Get forward for corners and bully the keeper he's lightweight
Ginter: Sit and watch for AM's coming through if they don't watch the forward trying to turn Nemanja and clear up if he does
Felipe Luis: Up against Mirallas, I want you to force them inside make sure crosses are blocked, Don't let him get a shot away. Look to get crosses in the box for Guerrero
Ralf: We're filling the midfield so your going to sit infront of the defense and make sure they don't create anything for the forward, if they get in your space, put a tackle in and hassle them backwards.
Arteta: Your going to be play dictator, look to get the ball into Prieto/Augusto, Sit and marshall the midfield look to stop them playing, Get forwards and sit on their outlet if we can push up the midfield. Don't be afraid to hit it long to Guerrero for a knock down to AM's
Gargano: I want you to chase and hassle Eriksen within a 10 yard area infront of you, Follow him about the midfield if he gets the ball kick him hard, Make sure he gets no time to create.
Xabi Prieto: Your playing inside right wing, Your going to be the key to our game today, We need to you to drift from RW to AM to give us the chance to get the forward in, look to take advantage of their spare LB playing, try look to get a ball in behind for Guerrero to chase. Gamez will overlap if you go AM
Renato Augusto: Your playing inside left wing, Your going to be the key to our game today, I want you to drift from LW to AM, Look to link up with Prieto/Guerrero and get on beyond them. Look to take advantage of Victor Ruiz's injury and take on the defense, Felipe will overlap if your not on the wing
Guerrero: Sit on Moisander and bully him with your physical presence, He's fairly small CB so look to use the aerial advantage over him if we get crosses in the box look to knock down to AM's, Look to take your chance clinically we may not get many.

Team talk:
We go with a wing game today, getting the ball into our two wide attackers as much as possible, and our full backs overlapping to provide additional threat out wide. They’re full backs like to get forward, so our width will target the space that is left behind, or work to push them back. Defensively, we keep a tight unit with Oscar and Iturraspe sitting to protect the defence and to allow the full backs forward.
CBs – Gurpegi will pick up the main striker. Ezika will pick up any second striker, or play spare. He will sweep up loose balls and watch for runners from midfield.
Central Mids –. Both will sit and break up the opposition attacks. He will protect the back four and will slot in alongside the CBs when the FBs bomb on. Oscar will support him, using his energy to cover the pitch and fill in for the full backs whilst they are attacking. When they get on the ball, they will look to feed the wingers and full backs, or hitting Drogba to hold up and allow the wingers to get in support.
Wingers – Get on the ball and attack the wide areas. Keep the defence guessing, by going inside and out. Get balls into the box for the strikers. If we are under pressure, track back and support the FB, but ultimately, I want you to focus on attacking. Defensively, pressurise the ball as soon as we lose it
Strikers – Drogba will provide the focal point of the attack as the main striker and Aduritz will look to feed off him. Drogba hold it up, get on the end of balls into the box, use your physical strength to bully the opposition defenders. Aduritz, get around Drogba and look to feed off him when he holds it up, or anything that drops loose from him. Defensively, pressurise the ball as soon as we lose it.

Teamtalk:
Primarily we want to take advantage of our pace via counter attacks, so we'll look to put pressure on our opponents in midfield, force a mistake and strike quickly. I expect plenty of energy to accomplish this, high work rate all round.
Defense:- Agbonlahor and Toivonen look to pressure the ball if it comes into your zone. Look to stay high up the field rather than tracking back.
- Midfield 3 to attempt to get tight to them in midfield, cramp them for room and time and mistakes should follow. Schaars to drop a bit deeper and cover the back 4.
- Pereira and Pieters to stay compact at the back if wider players play.
- Ogbonna to take the main striker, Rio to use his experience to cover, or take a potential 2nd striker.
Offense:- FBs to push up if no wingers play, 1 at a time if they do on the counter.
- Schaars to sit deeper and try to control the tempo if our opponents settle in. If we catch them out of shape, look to go direct to Bony or a winger.
- Maher and Paulinho to break into the space between their midfield and defense and look for layoffs if possible.
- Toivonen and Agbonlahor to look to stretch the back 4 with pace, take on your man and look to find Bony. Swap sides every so often. Come inside if the space presents itself, if not stay wider.
- Bony to get rough with their CBs, be he targetman primarily, then look to bring others into play and make runs off their CBs. Establish a presence from the off.
- Agbonlahor and Toivonen look to pressure the ball if it comes into your zone. Look to stay high up the field rather than tracking back.

Team Talk: We need to kickstart our season today but finally have a fully fit defence! Noble to mark Neymar out of the game, Rafinha/Rat to be allowed to get forward in order to attack their weak fullbacks. We are also packing the midfield to outnumber them, Verratti as the deep lying playmaker with Lampard and Diame going box to box either side of him. Up front Cole and Mandz to put away the goals. We need a win today, pure and simple!
Jaaskelainen - Control your box, look to release the ball to Rafinha/Rat or Verratti
Rafinha/Rat - As mentioned in the team talk I want you to get forward when you can as an option out wide, they are weak on the wings so lets exploit that. Look to get crosses in to Mandz where possible
Demichelis/Menez - Demichelis to mark their loan striker (presumably playing in front of Neymar). This allows Mexes to aid Noble and double up on Neymar when needed. Keep things simple, you have a shed load of experience between you so prove it today
Noble - Mark Neymar out of the game, nothing else. Make his life a living hell. Everytime he turns... BANG its Mark Noble! Keep the energy up throughout. Look to get the ball to one of your other midfielders quickly
Verratti - Deep lying playmaker today. You will have cover so I want you to focus on playing "those" balls. Get it wide to Rat/Rafinha, to the roaming Cole or straight to Mandz. I want you to control the game, you keep us ticking and we win
Lampard/Diame - Both box to box in the engine room, when they have the ball aid Verratti and Noble but as soon as we get it help us get forward. One of you goes forward first with the other protecting Verratti, then the other also goes forward. Their could well be goals in this today for you
Cole - A free role behind Mandz. Roam around and make life hell for their DCM (if the play one). Give Rat/Rafinha an option if you go wide and link up with Mandz/Lamps/Diame when you are more central. Just make a nuisance out of yourself all game
Mandzukic - Goals, Goals, Goals. I smell blood today against a Basel side with limited options at centre back. You can kickstart our season and prove we are a threat to be reckoned with. Lets bang some away today!

----------------------------
Manager's note: It will be tough today against Fool 'em, especially with Lambert and Benteke upfront and us light in defence. This is why I have taken the decision to bring in a new CB.
Boruc, distribute from the back to the fullbacks/CM's, stay in communication with your defence throughout, be wary of long range efforts and ensure you stay big for any one on ones.
Kaboul/Nacho, if Fool 'em play two strikers I want you to take one each and Wanyama to drop back as a third CB, this will be no issue unless they field an AM and two strikers, in which case Barkley will track the AM. If they only play one, Kaboul to mark Benteke, and Nacho to mark Lambert/clean up and be the CB who tracks any runs from midfield/out wide. When in possession, bring the ball out of defence. Feed the midfielders and wingers and also look for the free roaming Gaston.
Clyne/Fox, both good footballers but I need you to have more emphasis on defending today. Use the ball wisely, play the ball into the channels for the wingers Ruiz and Lallana, or pass infield to the CM's/Gaston. Against your opposing winger, force him outside, don't allow him to cut infield otherwise there will be too much pressure on our CB's/Wanyama. Force him wide and close him down tightly to prevent a cross coming in.
Wanyama/Barkley, Wanyama to be our main DM, sit infront of the back four, fill in as an extra CB if necessary and track their AM if not. Don't be dragged out of position. If their AM drops into midfield, let him go and Barkley will track him. Wanyama to sit and wait for Fool 'em's midfielders to get close to him. Don't allow then to shoot though. Barkley to be our box to box player. Strength to win the ball and ability to find the passes to hurt Fool 'em. Look for the trio of Ruiz/Gaston/Lallana and if the pass is on, Lukaku. Without the ball and under pressure, join Wanyama as a DM and stop the Fool 'em CM's.
Gaston, I want you to have a free role, however that free role must be in and around Andrea Pirlo when we don't have the ball. If we give Pirlo time he can hurt us, if you harass him he will do what he always does and panic or go backwards. When we have the ball, drift deep, further forward, or out wide. Don't give Kehl an easy ride at DM. Attempt to drag him out of position to leave space for others. On occasion, switch with Ruiz/Lallana to confuse the DM and fullbacks, Ruiz and Lallana can become the AM comfortably as can you become the winger. Look for Lukaku making runs or backing into the defenders, utilise the ball to feet with Lukaku's back to goal, so he can turn the CB and shoot like he can.
Ruiz/Lallana, Ruiz to use your trickery to beat their LB and get crosses in, alternatively cut inside and link with Gaston/Lallana to supply Lukaku. If Lukaku drops wide, swap and get into the middle. Shoot if you get the opportunity as you have a good eye for goal. Lallana, you will be more likely to cut inside anyway, link with Gaston and switch roles on occasion to keep the Fool 'em defence guessing. Shoot if the opportunity arises, but look for Lukaku as well.
Lukaku, lone striker but I want you to mark one CB. If they double mark you, drop deeper to allow the AM's to run into the space. Look to turn and shoot, hold up the ball and supply the AM's of Ruiz/Gaston/Lallana as they make forward runs around you. Be bold for crosses, get a couple of yards run up to beat their CB's in the air and be your clinical self. Bully and torment their CB's as much as you can, and use your pace to run in behind when counter attacking.
-----------------
Subs 70 mins:
If winning: Ruiz off, Schneiderlin on. Change to 4-5-1 with two DM's, Ramirez and Lallana wide as we absorb pressure then counter attack.
If drawing: Ruiz and Ramirez off, Totti and Ferreira-Carrasco on. Ferreira-Carrasco to RW, Totti to AM. Like for like changes as we push for the win.
If losing: Ramirez and Barkley off, Totti and Rodriguez on. Formation from 4-2-3-1 to 4-1-3-2 as Totti to AM, J-Rod joins Lukaku upfront and fullbacks push on. Go for goals.

TEAM TALK:
You lads are flying two straight wins! But don’t get cocky, we have a tough match this week against Southampton, I want you to work hard to secure another 3 points. I want to see you attack Southampton right from the first whistle, get on the ball and run at their makeshift defence, make them nervous with our energy and directness, and put their CBs under pressure by getting lots of crosses into the box and setting Lambert and Benteke on them. Southampton are missing three quality defenders so I want you to focus on their replacements – particularly their LB, I want Giaccherini to take him apart. Now go out there and show me what you’re made of!
DEFENCE TACTICS:
* Stekelenburg must marshal the defence and ensure that our defence knows where their opponents are; release the wingers on a fast counter when you get the ball, if not possible, look to use the defence to start a move from the back
* Hangeland to look after Lukaku – get tight on him, get your head on everything, make sure that he can’t go half a yard without bumping into you. He will try to hang off you and beat you for pace – just stick tight on him and don’t let him turn around. Use your huge body in a clever way to stop his movement.
* Amorebieta to support Hangeland and if they play one, mark the second striker, if not, beware of wingers cutting inside the FBs and above all, make sure that if Lukaku does steal free from Hangeland, that you’re there to clear the ball away
* Riether and Riise to keep the wingers out wide, stand up to them, ensure they can’t get balls in to the box. Get the ball to Pirlo, Nocerino or the winger ahead of you to start the attack moving.
* Pirlo and Nocerino are to provide a defensive screen for the defence, make sure that their midfield is constantly hounded and pressurized into making mistakes. Don’t let them settle on the ball, especially their AM, get in tight and don’t let them pass the ball around.
ATTACK TACTICS:
* Lambert to play alongside Benteke, bully your CBs, swap markers so they can’t get comfortable, and win your headers to get attempts in on goal.
* Concentrate on getting crosses into the box for Lambert and Benteke – both wingers are to concentrate on beating their man and getting balls into the box, and the FBs are to support and put in crosses from deep. Their CBs won’t be able to handle both Lambert AND Benteke – so get the balls flying in!
* Pirlo and Nocerino need to control possession centrally, then bring the FBs and wingers into play so that we can capitalise on our team’s width and get crosses into the box for Benteke and Lambert.
* If we need a Plan B, I want to see Benteke playing off the shoulder of their slowest CB and Pirlo to play him through; Duff and Lambert can create the space Benteke needs to blitz the Southampton defence with his pace and power.
Subs:
If winning – on 70mins – di Natale on for Lambert
Sit in the hole, draw players away from Benteke and play him or the wingers in. Look to get on the end of knockdowns from Benteke and steal loose in the box to put away tap ins.
If drawing or losing – on 70mins – Holtby on for Duff
Same formation, Holtby and Giaccherini to play a more attacking role and attack their FBs with pace and directness. Everyone to attack more as the game wears on. If we get a goal, sit back, and get Pirlo to play Benteke in with his pace.

Team Talk: Simple today lads, we are going to take the game to a Lille side that like to attack themselves. We shall press high up the pitch, really high up, not letting them play out from the back into midfield, thus forcing them to go long where our CB's will win any aerial duels. The energy of Fer/Strootman in midfield is complimented by the creative genius that is Wessi, with great delivery from Snodgrass and Pilkington out wide. RVW/Hooper will bag goals galore, with Hooper sitting on the last shoulder, and RVW using his clever movement to create space. Lets get out there, score lots of goals, and win this game!
Tactical Instructions:
Ruddy - Command the back three. Anything floated up in the air, you come and get it. They will take shots from long range, so be ready, nothing will beat you from there if you keep your concentration. Look to distribute to the CB's.
Okore/Martins Indi/Bassong - Expecting a one up top, Bassong picks up, if two up top Martins Indi/Okore pick up, Bassong sweeps. All three of you have pace and are athletic, so have been chosen to deal with the pace in there side. Due to this we will be playing a high line, looking to squeeze the space and win the ball high up the field. Okore/Martins Indi if the winger advances down your side, you go to meet them, with the other two picking up. When distributed the ball from Ruddy, find any of the midfield three or the wingers.
Strootman/Fer - You two dominate the midfield today. Get around winning the ball back for us, Strootman if they play a CAM it's your responsibility to put him in the stands early on, and nullify him. When you get the ball, find Hoolahan or the wingers, and one of you push on in attack, whilst one sits. Make sure you track your runners when we defend. Win this game in the middle for us today.
Snodgrass/Pilkington - You boys do what you do best, terrorise your FB's and look to put the ball on a plate for RVW/Hooper. Try to get in a track back when possible, but your main roles are to create chances and see if you can bag a few yourselves.
Hoolahan - Wessi what can I say. You go out there, find those pockets of space, and create opportunities for our strikers. Do what you do you lovely little Irish magician.
RVW/Hooper - Hooper I want you on the last man, using your pace to get in behind. Play off RVW who will use his movement to create space for you. Both of you should get plenty of chances today, go bag yourselves some goals. Also really press the CB's in possession, crucial to our gameplan.

TACTICS
We are up against a more challenging opponent in the Nodge but we are hoping to get another three points, we have slightly changed our line up this week and we are going to look to play a passing game with clever movement to unlock their defense. When we don't have the ball we will look to put a lot of pressure on them to force it back our way. They look weak down the flanks so we should look to attack them there, especially if they try playing five at the back as I have a hunch they will. If this happens then look to get them as the full backs push forward. They may also try a high line but we feel we can kill them with that with the pace of our forwards.
PLAYER ROLES
Enyeama - Stop the other team from scoring, make the saves and be vocal.
Coleman - Make the runs forward to support Navas down the right. If they play without wingers then get forward at will, Redmond is out injured so they may play Pilkington or nobody at all in a new system. Be conscious of them attacking us on the counter so don't go rampaging into the box but be an option just over halfway.
Rami - Finally available to play for us, be a leader at the back, show your physical side and completely prevent their main striker, who we expect to be Van Wolfswinkel from playing. He is a very limited player who does very little other than put the ball into the net. He doesn't like being pushed around and you should bully him today.
Kjaer - Look to sweep up behind Rami who will be challenging for the balls, try to keep hold of the ball if possible but if in doubt, blast the ball into row Z.
Cole - Like Coleman, support our winger to an extent. But don't get ridiculously far forward. Should they not play a winger, get forward at will though. Likely to be up against Snodgrass if anyone who likes to cut inside so don't let him, make him go out wide.
Navas - Davies is one of their weaker players so have a go, take him on and try to get past in and cut inside their defense, look for the space if he gets forward and force their LCB out of position. If they play a high line, try to sneak out onto the shoulder of the last man and break free.
Balmont - Sit deep in front of the back four, provide protection when the full backs get forward as instructed. Look to play long balls upfield. Be on the edge of the area to guard that space where shots can come in from, slide in and look to be your aggresive self to dominate the middle of the park.
Mavuba - Full of energy today, get into the faces of Strootman and Fer and don't let them dictate the game. Go flying in with tackles and don't let them settle on the ball, be quick to try and win it back.
Großkreutz - Cut inside as much as possible, especially if they play five at the back where you should draw the RCB out wide. Take long range efforts on goal.
Thauvin - Show off the fantastic close control and dribbling ability by running at them and trying to drag their players after you, also looking for through balls to Navas, Großkreutz and Cassano who may be exploiting their offside trap. Be creative, try to make something amazing happen. When we don't have the ball I want pressure on Fer and Strootman.
Cassano - Make loads of runs across the defensive line, do your best to disrupt it to create space for those in behind. They like to have their centre backs playing zonally so get slap bang in the middle to get that area of uncertainty which zone you're in. Try to break free of the offside trap. When we don't have the ball press the centre backs but stay high up the pitch, we want them to be scared of getting too many men forward.

Julio Cesar: There main route is down the wings so if any balls go in the box come collect then as they have small forwards. When in control release it into Arteta or out to a winger.
Defence tactics: Squeeze in to make a tight back 4 let them cross the ball we're taller then them and better in the air. Play a deep line literally 3 yards from the box so their pace can't get in behind
Felipe: Id expect your be up Hermann against , Squeeze on him and show him down the line, if cuts inside Ralf will help you. What we want to do is make sure he's tracking back so when we have the ball bomb forwards and overlap Augusto to take advantage of the spare LB.
Vidic: Keep in line with forward make sure if they try to pass into feet then get there before him, Make sure you keep in line with Ginter. If he goes onto Ginter watch for the AM coming on. With pass get it into Arteta or hit out wide for a counter, Aubameyang will try use his pace so that's why we're sitting deep so he can't
Ginter: I want you to watch for AM coming as Vidic will pick up the forward. If sticks on you then force him away from goal with your physical presence. If their out wide help Felipe with Bernard
Felipe Luis: Your be up against Bernard, He's quick and he's got tricks so watch the ball not he's feet , Ginter will help you double him if he comes inside, Try force him down the wing.
Xabi Prieto: Your going box to box today i want you to get forward and link up with the front 3 when you can but when without the ball sit on their outlet for attacks.
Renato Augusto: Your playing as an inside right forward today, Felipe will overlap you to give you space to cause issues, look like switch sides with Gomez on occasions, When defending follow the winger back , if the full back goes stay and wait for the counter attack.
Guerrero: There strong at the centre of defence so i want you to pull out onto their full backs and look for knockdowns on the the 3 backing you up, We need to link up the play so look to lay it off, If can get in behind then do so and if they send a CB to deal with you then physically back into them

Team talk: A lot more solid performance last week and it showed the quality of our side that our opposition played a defensive game wanting a draw, let's this week push on and get that vital first win of the season.
I've brought in Aubameyang to the forward line and with him being faster than Usain Bolt over 30m I really want to utilise that burst of pace against an ageing Vidic and the youthful Ginter who prefers to play a high defensive line which immediately plays into our hands.
GK: Keep it simple, be vocal early and ensure the defence know their instructions. Stay on your toes and be ready for long range efforts. Look to release the ball out to the wings quickly if their is the opportunity for a counter.
CBs: Alderweireld to marshall the back line, a physical approach to the game, go toe to toe with the main striker and time tackles keeping goal side of him. Dominguez is to deal with a SS or any runs that have broken through.
FBs: Look to keep their wingers pushed to the outside as much as possible, don't go to ground and hold up play. When the opportunity arises then use the flanks going forward and work with the high wingers to whip balls past the defence to speed merchant Aubameyang.
Ahead of you is the movement, with Bernard, Fischer and Hermann you have a plethora of options, alternate between them with balls to feet, tire the opposition down chasing shadows.
AM: Play in the hole and look to link up play between Xavi and our forward three, also don't be afraid to crack one from distance. When required drop deeper and assist in midfield duties to take pressure off Xavi. If there's the space knock a few well timed through balls through to Villa. Look to play balls through the gaps for Aubameyang to sprint onto.
WG: Fischer and Hermann have a fluid role as wingers, both with the remit to come inside whenever available, use their speed, intelligence and creativity to always be one step ahead of their defensives with tricks and movement, when the other winger has the ball then ensure you get into the box to assist the striker. Quick balls where possible past the fullback for Aubameyang to connect with.
ST: Speed, speed, speed. Against the young Ginter who likes to play a high line means timing is crucial today and once you've burst past your marker there's no catching you. The only way they'll stop you is early on so look to make the most of their sloppy tackles and an early yellow for them will have them hesitant for the remainder of the game allowing you the freedom to maraud.
Subs:
If losing at 70m. Kruse> Bernard: like for like but with fresh legs the speed against a tired Defence should push through.

Team talk: Tough game today against potentially the best side in the league. With this in mind we have gone for the formation I have wanted to plague all season... 5-3-1-1. This will allow us to dominate the midfield and attack their fullbacks. I want an upset victory today!
Jussi - Control your box, claim any crosses that come in
Reid/Mexes/Demichelis - Reid to organise the defence and prevent their cf from settling. Mexes/Demibchelis to work either side of him. Stay solid but cover our wing backs when they get forward. We must keep a clean sheet today
Rat/Rafinha - Control the flanks, get back when needed but you have free licence to get forward. When Cole drifts wide overlap but regardless look to whip in crosses for Mandzukic to get on the end of
Noble - DCM today pick up their cam prevent him from playing. When our wing backs get forward cover them. In attack keep it simple
Lampard/Diame - Both box to box today for both of you. Support or attacks and when you are position have a shot. Big games today for both of you! In defence look to get in beside noble and cover your respective wing backs
Cole - Roam around and generally make a nuisance of yourself! Don't allow their DCM to Steele on you and make them follow you. Drift out wide to release the wing back down past their fullback. You can win this for us today!
Mandzukic - Simply tuck away any and all chances, play off the shoulder of the man marking you to feed off any through balls that Cole/Lamps/Diame thread through as well as getting on the end of any and all crosses that come in from rat/rafinha. I want goals, goals, goals, goals!

Team talk: We are expecting West Ham to utilise wingers today with Verratti out injured so we’ll match up with what we’re expecting. Our aim as always is to not waste possession but we do want to attack at a higher tempo and with direct forward thinking passing.
Cillessen: Do goalie stuff and don’t let the white thing past you. Come for crosses in your range but make sure you’re communicating all game with your defenders.
van Rhijn/Antonelli: Both of you are capable going forward so press up the pitch when we have it, but don’t go into the final third because we’ll need you back. Jockey the wingers and stay tight on them when they don’t have the ball. Try and show Jarvis inside. He loves to cross the little tyke, so being infield will probably confuse him.
Moisander/Zapata: High chance that Mandzukic is up front and probably a reasonable chance of Carroll. In any case, if they are both on mark one each and stick to them like glue in and around the 18yd box. Don’t get dragged deep by them; let them go, they can’t hurt us from deep. Attack balls into the box aggressively or they’ll punish us.
Leitner: Sit deep in the middle and hustle around the pitch. Try and win the ball back and then lay it off ahead of you. Keep an eye out for runners from deep and close Frank Lampard down if he is lining up a shot.
S. de Jong: Slightly more reserved than usual in as much as you will need to get back and muck in defensively. When we have the ball look to move up the pitch and get on it, looking for Eriksen to unlock them or out wide to get the ball across.
Eriksen: Sit the farthest forward of the midfield trio when we have it and look to drift into space and find a killer pass. Be patient with it and use the width if that’s where the space is. If a cross comes in, ghost in late and see if you can pick up scraps. When defending drop a little deeper but mostly keep an eye on their deep lying midfielder and see if you can disrupt his rhythm.
Varela/Mirallas: Both of you keep wide until you get the ball, then it’s anyone’s guess as to where you go. Be direct and run at the full backs and if they are showing you inside look for a give and go with Eriksen to get behind them. Crosses are a weapon with de Jong so if you are outside, manufacture a good cross and ask the question of their CBs. When we lose it, hustle back with the full back and take them out of the game as a pass option.
L. de Jong: Bag some goals you tall Poopie. Movement in the 18 yard box and simple link up play with the wingers and midfielders, nothing fancy required, just effective ball retention. When the ball is wide and a cross is on its way make sure you attack the ball and always be trying to shake your markers.
SUBS
if winning 70mins:
S. de Jong off, Poulsen on – CP to drop deeper and sit in with Leitner. Break up play and close out the game.
if losing 75mins:

TACTICS
They are missing a lot of creativity this week with Lallana and Ramirez out, but we should look to have a go going forward and we have some new blood in the side. They are likely to play their usual 4-2-3-1 which we can counter. We are not expecting their wingers to have any instructions to track back so double up. Attack them down the wings where they are at their weakest with full backs who are more known for getting forward than their defensive qualities. Rodelin and Großkreutz can both cut inside or if forced wide, get the full backs to try the 'undercut' where they come infield. When we defend Lukaku cannot have an inch of space. Rami should physically dominate him, not let him have a shot on goal.
Enyeama - Be vocal, make the saves and distribute the ball high up quickly.
Coleman - Get forward when you can, you are quicker than Pienaar so should be able to get back in time. Look to push up and get crosses into the box, full of energy down the right flank.
Kjaer - With Rami being the main marker of Lukaku, look to be slightly behind so you can sweep in. Be intelligent, as Rami will be man-marking today so make sure that you occupy whatever space Lukaku attempts to create.
Rami - Man-mark Lukaku. That's it. Do not give him an inch of space and don't let him shoot. If he drops really far deep the midfield will take care of him.
Boilesen - Like Coleman, full of energy and should look to get forward as much as possible. Ruiz is a tricky customer and today it is crucial to not let him cut inside as that is where he is most dangerous so force him way out wide.
Rodelin - Fast runs down the wing, cut inside and shoot, get right in behind the striker and try and make something happen. Bit of a wildcard choice today but prove your worth against a weak left back in Traore who's head often isn't in the wrong place.
Sahin - Sit deep and dictate the play with a range of passing, look to be an option when we have the ball, make the odd run forward with Balmont staying back. When we don't have the ball make sure you provide protection to the defense, sitting fairly deep and controlling the area to make there little space to work in.
Mavuba - Work with Sahin to protect the defense sticking tight. Make some runs forward, rotating it with Sahin. Look to dominate the midfield area.
Großkreutz - Play as a left midfielder cutting inside, be creative and look to outsmart an inexperienced Clyne. Beat the man and get the ball into the box.
Cassano - Free attacking role today, you can try to run wide, dribble with the ball and take long range shots. Be difficult to pick up, look for the pockets of space and drag their players out of position.
Fred - Finisher in front of goal. Get the ball into the back of the net. I don't care how, just show your predatory instincts, get on the end of crosses and be in the right place at the right time.
SET PIECES
Left Corner - Großkreutz
Right Corner - Sahin
Free Kicks - Cassano
Penalties - Cassano
SUBSTITUTIONS
If winning bring on Balmont for Cassano, move to a 4-1-4-1.
If drawing bring on Thauvin and Roux for Fred and Großkreutz, same formation, new faces.
If losing bring on Thauvin and Roux for Mavuba and Rodelin. Play 4-2-3-1 with a narrow shape.

Subs: Paulo Gazzaniga, Billy Jones, Nacho Fernandez, Morgan Schneiderlin, Ross Barkley, Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco, Jay Rodriguez
--------------------------
Boruc, distribute from the back to the fullbacks/CM's, stay in communication with your defence throughout, be wary of long range efforts and ensure you stay big for any one on ones.
Kaboul/Lovren, if Lille play two strikers I want you to take one each and Wanyama to drop back as a third CB, this will be no issue unless they field an AM and two strikers, in which case Defour will track the AM. If they only play one, Kaboul to mark him and Lovren will clean up and be the CB who tracks any runs from midfield/out wide. When in possession, bring the ball out of defence. Feed the midfielders and wingers and also look for the free roaming Totti.
Clyne/Traore, both good footballers but I need you to have more emphasis on defending today. Use the ball wisely, play the ball into the channels for the wingers Ruiz and Pienaar, or pass infield to the CM's/Totti. Against your opposing winger, force him outside, don't allow him to cut infield otherwise there will be too much pressure on our CB's/Wanyama. Force him wide and close him down tightly to prevent a cross coming in.
Wanyama/Defour, Wanyama to be our main DM, sit infront of the back four, fill in as an extra CB if necessary and track their AM if not. Don't be dragged out of position. If their AM drops into midfield, let him go and Defour will track him. Wanyama to sit and wait for Lille's midfielders to get close to him. Don't allow then to shoot though. Defour to be our box to box player. Strength to win the ball and ability to find the passes to hurt Lille. Look for the trio of Ruiz/Totti/Pienaar, and if the pass is on, Lukaku. Without the ball and under pressure, join Wanyama as a DM and stop the Lille CM's.
Totti, I want you to have a free role, however that free role must be in and around the Lille DM when we don't have the ball. Harass him and make him panic or go backwards. When we have the ball, drift deep, further forward, or out wide. Don't give the Lille DM an easy ride. Attempt to drag him out of position to leave space for others. On occasion, switch with Ruiz/Pienaar to confuse the DM and fullbacks, Ruiz and Pienaar can become the AM comfortably as can you become the winger. Look for Lukaku making runs or backing into the defenders, utilise the ball to feet with Lukaku's back to goal, so he can turn the CB and shoot like he can.
Ruiz/Pienaar, Ruiz to use your trickery to beat their LB and get crosses in, alternatively cut inside and link with Totti/Pienaar to supply Lukaku. If Lukaku drops wide, swap and get into the middle. Shoot if you get the opportunity as you have a good eye for goal. Pienaar, you will be more likely to cut inside anyway, link with Totti and switch roles on occasion to keep the Lille defence guessing. Shoot if the opportunity arises, but look for Lukaku as well.
Lukaku, lone striker but I want you to mark one CB. If they double mark you, drop deeper to allow the AM's to run into the space. Look to turn and shoot, hold up the ball and supply the AM's of Ruiz/Totti/Pienaar as they make forward runs around you. Be bold for crosses, get a couple of yards run up to beat their CB's in the air and be your clinical self. Bully and torment their CB's as much as you can, and use your pace to run in behind when counter attacking.
-----------------
Subs 70 mins:
If winning: Totti off, Schneiderlin on. Change to 4-5-1 with two DM's, Ruiz and Pienaar wide as we absorb pressure then counter attack.
If drawing: Ruiz and Wanyama off, Ferreira-Carrasco and Barkley on. Ferreira-Carrasco to RW, Barkley to CM with Defour. Both play box to box. Like for like changes as we push for the win.
If losing: Totti and Wanyama off, Barkley and Rodriguez on. Formation from 4-2-3-1 to 4-1-3-2 as Barkley to AM, J-Rod joins Lukaku upfront and fullbacks push on. Go for goals.

we want tight compact football, get the passing game going look to get the ball to our 3 attacking mids, let them at the opposition while the DMs act as an insurance policy, use Streller as a hold up man, get the ball to him when clearing.
DMs
Sit back Marshall the tempo, quick incise passing , act as the link between defense and Attack, look to dictate the game, look to get it to the 3 attacking Mids, when defending Eleneywill track the main AM while Frei will hassle any deeper men and look to intercept passes, when attacking Eleney will remain deep while Frei will push forward slightly to try and collect and clearances.
LW/RW, look to get on the ball, run at your man, either push wide and get crosses in, or use the overlapping full backs as an option for a a distraction to either take it alone or link up which Neymar however i expect tracking back to cover 2v1s and double team the wingers.

--------------RVW-------------------
Team Talk - Good point last week, we look to build on that this week against Basel. We are setting up with a solid two banks of four, with Howson in support of RVW.
Whittaker/Davies - Both of you are encouraged to support the attacks so get up the field when we are in possession and provide width from deep. Don't get too deep into their half and always be aware of the break. When they're attacking make sure you hold your line with the CBs and push the wingers wide if you can to isolate them. Don't commit yourself so at worst you're slowing their attacking momentum.
Okore/Bassong - Stick together and communicate.
RVW - Classic single forward, try and keep the CBs occupied and hang on their shoulders with an eye on where the space may be to get the ball to. Operate in the 18 yard box and be on the move when we have it wide.

Team talk:
We are playing with three across the middle of midfield to try and control possession and the game. Our wide attackers will play slightly narrower and closer to Drogba, playing almost free roles. The width will be provided by the full backs bombing on at will. When defending, the midfield trio will sit and protect the back four giving the full backs licence to attack. If under pressure, the two wide attackers will drop back into midfield to make it 5 across the middle, supporting the full backs.
But as soon as you have the opportunity to attack, do it! Get forward, overlap the wide forwards and get crosses into the box for Drogba and the other forwards
CBs – Barzagli will pick up the main striker. Martinez will pick up any second striker, or play spare. He will sweep up loose balls and watch for runners from midfield.
Central Mids – Gonalons will play the destructive role, breaking up opposition attacks. Herrera will sit as the deep lying playmaker, feeding the attacking players. Oscar will play box to box. All three, and particularly Gonalons and Herrera will sit in front of the defence to provide cover for the full backs when they bomb on.
Inside Forwards – Free creative roles today. Move about and get on the ball. Attack the defenders and the channels. Keep the defence guessing, by going inside and out. Get balls into the box for the striker. When the ball is on the opposite side, get in support of Drogba. If we are under pressure, track back and support the FB, but ultimately, I want you to focus on attacking. Defensively, pressurise the ball as soon as we lose it
Strikers – Drogba will provide the focal point of the attack as the main striker hold it up, get on the end of balls into the box, use your physical strength to bully the opposition defenders.. Defensively, pressurise the ball as soon as we lose it.

TEAM TALK:
We’ve had a good start to the season, but we need to keep it going – and we have a tough match this week against Athletic Ballbag, I want you to work hard to secure another 3 points. I want to see you attack Ballbag right from the first whistle, get on the ball and run at their defence, make them nervous with our energy and directness, and put their CBs under pressure by getting lots of crosses into the box and setting Benteke on them. With two good wide men, and Benteke in the box, this game is made for Berbatov to pull the strings. Now go out there and show me what you’re made of!
ATTACK TACTICS:
* Benteke to play ahead of Berbatov, bully the CBs with your strength and knock downs, swap markers so they can’t get comfortable, and win your headers to get attempts in on goal.
* Berbatov to play off Benteke, pick up his knock downs, link with the wingers, play balls through the defence and time your runs to perfection for the crosses from wide. This game was made for you Berba, go out there and remind us of your quality.
* Giaccherini and Holtby to get crosses into the box for Benteke and Berbatov – the FBs are to support and put in crosses from deep. Their CBs won’t be able to handle Benteke and watch for Berbatov arriving late – so get the balls flying in!
* Kehl and Nocerino need to control possession centrally, then bring the FBs and wingers into play so that we can capitalise on our team’s width and get crosses into the box for Benteke and Berba. Nothing fancy required here lads – just keep the ball moving.
* If we need a Plan B, I want to see Benteke playing off the shoulder of their slowest CB and Berbatov playing him through; Holtby and Giaccherini can create the space Benteke needs to blitz the Ballbag defence with his pace and power.
DEFENCE TACTICS:
* Stekelenburg must marshal the defence and ensure that our defence knows where their opponents are; release the wingers on a fast counter when you get the ball, if not possible, look to use the defence to start a move from the back
* Hangeland to look after Drogba – get tight on him, get your head on everything, make sure that he can’t go half a yard without bumping into you. He will try to hang off you and beat you for pace – just stick tight on him and don’t let him turn around. Use your huge body in a clever way to stop his movement.
* Amorebieta to support Hangeland and if they play one, mark the second striker, if not, beware of wingers cutting inside the FBs and above all, make sure that if Drogba does steal free from Hangeland, that you’re there to clear the ball away
* Riether and Balzaretti to keep the wingers out wide, stand up to them, ensure they can’t get balls in to the box. Get the ball to Nocerino, Kehl or the winger ahead of you to start the attack moving.
* Nocerino and Kehl are to provide a defensive screen for the defence, make sure that their midfield is constantly hounded and pressurized into making mistakes. Don’t let them settle on the ball, especially their AM, get in tight and don’t let them pass the ball around.
Subs:
If winning – on 70mins – Lambert on for Berbatov
Double trouble, push the CBs back, get on the end of crosses, make a real nuisance of yourself.
If drawing or losing – on 70mins – Lambert and Puyol on for Riise and Balzaretti
3-4-3 with Puyol sitting as the sweeping CB between Hangeland and Amorebieta; Lambert to play alongside Benteke, win headers, push CBs back, all this will allow Berbatov to hurt them from the hole.

Team Talk: Going with the same setup as last time out, look to have men behind the ball & play on the counter using our pace up front. 42211 so Candreva & Hoilett can drop into a four man midfield when we don't have possession, help park the bus. Want to have men behind the ball when defending. Attacking move the ball quick & use our pace, be direct.
Defence: Set up with two banks of four. Stay organised as this will make us hard to break down. Carrick & Barton will look to win the ball back quick in midfield & move it forward. Castro will drop onto their deepest midfield player, most likely Schaars & pressure/restrict his influence when we are not in possession.
Attack: Candreva, Hoilett & Castro ill be looking for your guys to get forward, support Remy. All three of you can play across that midfield so when going forward id like you to interchange position, this should help find space, drag markers out of position & make you harder to mark. With Ogbonna out we need to use our pace to beat Rio & his stand in partner.
César: Communicate with your defence, keep the organised. Claim any balls around your 6 yard box. Be quick & stay big for one on ones.
Campagnaro/Kirchhoff: Expecting Bony upfront. If so want Campagnaro to mark him, he can be a handful in the air so do your best to beat him to headers. Kirchhoff to cover, read the game & clean up, watch for any runs from a SS/AM, most likely Agbonlahor or any other attackers.
Jallet/Peluso: Don't attack. Go up to the halfway line to support midfielders when we are in possession. If the opposition play with wingers/wide men mark them & try take them out the game. If their wide men want to come inside you may need to track them, try force them into a crowd with our DM.
Carrick/Barton: Look to dictate the tempo & play. Carrick to hold while Barton has permission to roam that central area & make your presence felt with your tough tackling. Look to retain possession quick then move the ball forward with direct play. Going forward try find any of the three in front of you or Remy's runs.
Castro: Defensively drop onto one of the deep lying midfielder & try restrict his influence on the match. Attacking do what you do best, roam in between lines, pick the ball at & run at defenders. You movement in this area will be vital to breaking though their defence. Support Remy when central. Interchange with Candreva & Hoilett. Shoot from inside the box. Look for Remy's runs & use them as a distraction or play him in.
Remy: Play off the last shoulder, use your pace to get in behind. With Ogbonna out they will be missing some pace at the back, use this to our advantage, Rio is a clever defender so you need to up your movement, catch him flat footed & use your pace to get away. Want you to pressure the oppositions centre backs into mistakes. Shoot when in the box. Stay central & let the three behind you provide the support on the break.

Corners: Candreva
Long Free kicks: Candreva
Short free kicks: Ruben Castro

Team talk: Wonderful performance last week to get our first win of the season and I want more of the same this week utilising the combination of the vision and passing of Xavi and the speed and movement of our forwards.
With injuries to our backline I want a tight simple game at the back with the ball quickly moved upfield on the counter for our pace abusers to strike.
GK: Keep it simple, be vocal early and ensure the defence know their instructions. Stay on your toes and be ready for long range efforts. Look to release the ball out to the wings quickly if their is the opportunity for a counter.
CBs: Stranzl has been brought in to physically deal with the potential threat of Bony, at 3 inches taller than him it'll nullify his height, ensure you stay goal side and time tackles. Dominguez to go toe to toe with a 2nd striker if playing, if not to double up when needed on Bony and mop up loose balls, look to hit the ball quickly for counters over the top to Aubameyang.
FBs: Look to keep their wingers pushed to the outside as much as possible, don't go to ground and hold up play. When the opportunity arises then use the flanks going forward and work with the high wingers to whip balls past the defence to speed merchant Aubameyang.
Ahead of you is the movement, with Bernard, Fischer and Hermann you have a plethora of options, alternate between them with balls to feet, tire the opposition down chasing shadows. If they're playing a deep defence then it allows you more time on the ball to control the game and probe for gaps.
AM: Play in the hole and look to link up play between Xavi and our forward three, also don't be afraid to crack one from distance especially if they're playing a deep defence to combat our speed.
Last week you destroyed Vidic, well this week it's turn of Rio. Use your burst of acceleration and timing to blast past the aging defender and slot it home.
Subs:
If losing at 70m. Bakkali>Hermann : go 4-4-2 but with Bernard & Fisher on the wings and Bakkali & Aubameyang up front.

Team Talk: Up against a weird West Ham side, Gregers plays different formations on a weekly basis seems rather defensive at the moment so going 4-4-2.
Cassi:
Be strong in the air, don't take risks. Look to start a counter attack if possible. Command the area and organize the wall if the opponents get a free kick within shooting distance.
Jesus Gamez & Felipe Luis: Be wary of the wingers, they are very fast, Work with the CB's to nullify the threat. Remember to get forwards and overlap our wingers to give them the option
Vidic & Ginter: Work together to track Mandzukic but be wary of the other Attackers coming forwards. Don't give away free kicks near the box, otherwise they will have a very good chance to score. Be solid, if in doubt boot the ball away and don't try and pass it out of danger.
Gargano: I've want you to get amongst the midfielders give them no time on the ball put your tackle in don't let their AM's get a shot away . Help out the full backs if they need assistance.
Arteta: Knock balls up the field in behind the defense to get our pace in behind, if being pressured move forward and look for gaps, Sit deeper when defending and look to get us away quickly on counter with ranging balls
Prieto: Your playing wider today then usual want to take advantage of the LB's lack of pace, so get at him with trickery and run beyond him, look to get on the end of Arteta balls in behind.
Joaquin: Attack the right back with Felipe backing up and don't be afraid to have a shot when near the opposition box. look to play in Muriel/Guerrero or dribble at the defense and get the overlapping Felipe in
Muriel: Your playing just off Guerrero in an SS role, make runs beyond him, Use your pace and dribbling to cause their defense issues. look to exploit the lack of pace. if get a DM around you go up top to a 4-4-2
Guerrero: I want you to use your Ariel presence to effect today, look to drift about the CB's but sit on them, their CB's not the fastest so look to get in beyond him if can't use your ariel presence.

Team Talk: After a superb draw against Ajax last week we need to kick on and go one better to claw our way up the league. With this in mind we have stayed true to our new found style with a strong 5-3-1-1. They will go 4-5-1 so I want us to outnumber them in the middle, Verratti back to play the deep lying playmaker to give us a quick way of breaking. If we stay strong and look to attack in moderation then we will win out
Adrian - Keep it simple and claim the crosses, look to get the ball to Verratti or the wingbacks
Mexes/Reid/Demichelis - Work as a trio to contain them. They will play one up front (i would imagine) so Reid to mark them. Get physical and throw them off their game. Mexes and Demichelis to cover across when their wingers drive inside. Otherwise keep it simple and prevent them from getting away from you
Rafinha/Rat - Big game today and you're going to have to keep the engine going. When they have the ball get back so we have a solid back 5, force their wingers outside and cramp them for room - do not slide in! When we have the ball surge forward to push their wingers and fullbacks back, look to whip in a cross for Mandz or link up with Cole when he drifts wide
Verratti - Deep lying playmaker as mentioned in the team talk, look to pick up the ball in the deep and play your delightful passes out wide to hit the rampaging wing backs. You will also always have a nice simple option to one of Lamps or Diamé. In defence pick up their CAM and dont let him away from you, keep them close to you
Lampard/Diamé - Box to box once again this week, look to drive forward when we have the ball and give another option. Both of you have a great shot on you so lets utilise this today. Take pot shots if you get a chance early on. Get back when they have the ball to form a solid 3 in front of our back 5. Diamé to pick up Arteta and get physical on him as he does not appreciate that at all
Cole - Roam around and generally make a nuisance of yourself! Don't allow their DCM to settle on you and make them follow you. Drift out wide to release our wing back down past their fullback. We need you to keep them busy, in order to create room for Mandzukic
Mandzukic - Simply tuck away any and all chances, play off the shoulder of Vidic. He will struggle with the language barrier being the only non-Spanish or Portuguese speaker in the side. Get on the end of all crosses and be predatory, goals today Mandz!

Team Talk: Up against a tough side but we have the personal to win this game, strong midfield lets not give them time to pass the ball around. Use the pace of our attacking players to get at them.
Keeper: Cesar spread yourself making the goal look smaller, try to catch the ball but if you have to punch it. Hit the ball long to Klose or big throws to wide men to hit them on counter.
Defence: The priority of my FB is to defend first and only one pushes up at a time, jockey your man trying to keep him on the outside when attacking make runs creating space for winger. Campagnaro watch the main striker but don't lose your position get on him early don't let him settle on the ball. Costa pick up AM/SS watch for the balls he may try and play so intercept and block.
Midfield: The trio will work as a unit, Carrick to sit infront of the back four picking up the ball and get it forward be aware of runners and block balls or make the attacker look for a pass backwards. Gerrard box to box drive forward with the ball looking to join attacks and getting in shooting positions put pressure on opposition when defending. Faurlin keep things tidy in midfield knocking the ball around look for space and exploit it nothing fancy.
Attack: The wide men will look to drift in and use the width mixing it up, get balls in for Klose to attack. Use your trick and flair to beat your man if you have chance to shoot don't be afraid or if you can pick a pass then use it. Klose play between the 18 yard box as a CF get the ball pass and move knock it forward do not stay static always on the move use your attacking instincts to get into attacking positions.

TEAM TALK:
We’re unbeaten this season – let’s keep this great run going, but this time add all three points! This will take some hard work as ZwagAtletico have a good team. I want to see you them right from the first whistle, we are going to bombard their box with crosses, put their CBs under huge pressure, and have di Natale in a free role to confuse and agitate them. With the constant aerial threat, they won’t be able to get their game settled and we can pin them back in their own half. Now go out there and show me what you’re made of!
ATTACK TACTICS:
* Benteke and Lambert to play alongside each other, win headers, and make the occasional swap of position to confuse the CBs and make them hesitant in the air. There will be constant balls into the box, so I want you both to time your runs well and nick us a few goals from headers, and if you can’t get an effort on goal, knock the ball down for each other or di Natale to stick a shot in on goal.
* di Natale is to play off the strikers in a free role, this can be alongside them, off them, out wide, wherever he gets an opportunity to attack the defence. Lambert and Benteke will be winning headers and beating their markers, so there will be plenty of loose balls knocking around. Get on the end of those and bury your chances!
* Balzaretti and Riether are to knock long crosses into the box – don’t get too far forward, as you’ll need to be in position defensively. Put in those deep crosses and Lambert and Benteke will do the rest – if they can’t get a header on target, they’ll be looking to knock a chance down to each other or di Natale.
* Kehl and Nocerino will control possession centrally, keep it simple, either play it wide for a deep cross from the WBs or play a long ball up to Lambert or Benteke, as they’ll have di Natale free behind them for the knock-down.
DEFENCE TACTICS:
* Stekelenburg will marshal the defence and ensure that the CBs knows where their opponents are; release the WBs so they can get their crosses in, or, as a last resort, lump the ball down to Lambert and Benteke to see if they can create something against their CB markers.
* Distin to look after Remy – get tight on him, winning headers will be easy, just make sure that he can’t go half a yard without bumping into you. He will try to hang off you or spin off you and beat you for pace – just stick tight on him and don’t let him turn around. Use your huge body in a clever way to stop his movement.
* Hangeland to support Distin and if they play one, mark the second striker, if not, beware of wingers cutting inside the WBs and above all, make sure that if Remy does steal free from Distin, that you’re there to clear the ball away.
* Puyol to act as the free CB, help Riether out wide if he needs it, and be aware of any breaks from midfield, especially from Coutinho. Between the three of you, and the defensive WBs, nothing should be able to get through.
* Riether and Balzaretti to hang back, not get too far forward, allowing them to keep the wingers well away from goal. Stand up to them, ensure they can’t get balls in to the box. Get the ball to Nocerino, Kehl or a long ball to the strikers.
* Nocerino and Kehl are to provide a defensive screen for the defence, make sure that their midfield is constantly hounded and pressurized into making mistakes. Don’t let them settle on the ball, especially Coutinho, get in tight and don’t let them pass the ball around. With Coutinho, I want you to be uber-physical in the first 5mins so that he won’t fancy the game at all. Just a few pushes, nicks here and there, nothing outright dirty. Just show him that he’s going to get clobbered if he tries anything fancy.
Subs:
If winning – on 70mins – Januzaj on for di Natale
Free role, set up a few chances for the strikers, above all, keep things tight and don’t try too hard. Let the game come naturally to you.
If drawing or losing – on 70mins – Berbatov and Halilovic on for Puyol and di Natale
4-3-3, with Berba playing off Lambert and Benteke. Just go hell for leather to get the extra goal (or two) we need. They won’t be able to stop the three of you.

Team talk:
Offensively, Lille will have a second string attacker playing. We expect Rami to be asked to look after Drogba, so we have played Villa alongside him in order for his to target the second centre back. Lille also have two full backs who like to join the attack, so we are going to use the wings to either exploit the space behind them, or force them to stay further back. Herrera will act as the playmker, linking our defence and attack. Defensively, we expect Cassano to be pushed further forward, so Jagielka will pick him up. We also see threat from out wide, so both our full backs will be more conservative this week.
GK Stand tall, come for crosses that are close to you making them need to aim crosses further out. Distribute short as much as possible. Be on your toes for balls in behind the defence and sweep them up.
FBs Limit your attacking ambitions today and concentrate on picking up the opposition wingers. Nullify this threat, particularly Navas, as we will go a long way to nullifying Lille. Cassano will want low crosses in front of him, from the byeline, so force the wingers away from goal on the outside, and for them to have to cross from deep.
CBs – Jagielka will pick up the main striker. Barzagli will pick up any second striker, or play spare. He will sweep up loose balls and watch for runners from midfield.
Central Mids – Gonalons playing the destructive role, breaking up opposition attacks, whilst Herrera will sit as the deep lying playmaker, supporting Gonalons defensively to allow the wingers to be more attack minded, and feeding the attacking players out side for the wingers, and centrally to Villa and Drogba, when on the ball.
Wingers – Get the ball wide and attack the full backs. If they push forward, look to exploit the space behind which will either give you loads of space, or force them to drop back. You are mainly attack minded, but when under pressure, drop deeper. Defensively, pressurise the ball high up the pitch as soon as we lose it.
Strikers – Play as a partnership, with Drogba being the power and the presence to bully the defence, Villa being the guile and the pace. We anticipate Rami being asked to pick up Drogba, so Villa should target the second weaker CB. Defensively, pressurise the ball high up the pitch as soon as we lose it.

TACTICS
We are going to be physical today from the get go, give them a good roughing up and get long balls and crosses into the box. They are without their first choice keeper so we are expecting the inexperienced Herrerin to start, Jagielka and Barzagli aren't exactly the most dominant in the air and we want Roux and de Melo to have a go at them. Defend in two strong backs of four, ensuring the space is minimised as much as possible. Don't get drawn out of position by chasing them down. Their attackers will try to pressurise us high up the pitch so think smart, let them waste their energy chasing lost causes.
Enyeama - Save the shots and distribute the ball high up towards the strikers.
Coleman - Likely to be up against Muniain (or Villa if they go 4-3-3) so either way focus a bit more on the defensive work today. Use your pace to match the winger and get narrow if need be onto the edge of the box, look to jockey the winger wide.
Basa/Rami - Villa and/or Drogba will be upfront today, and it is important we counter their pace by holding a strong line lead by Rami. Both of our centre backs should be physical, especially with Villa who won't like being roughed up and Drogba falls over like jelly if anyone goes near him. Work as a team, and smash the ball towards their goal when we get the ball. Both of you should get forward for set pieces.
Cole - Susaeta is likely to be your opponent so match him for pace and don't let him cut inside at all. Focus a bit more on defending today than usual.
Navas - Take on Siquiera who likes to attack, hit him on the counter attack and make him scared to go forward. Run down that wing, cause mayhem and get crosses into the box for the forwards.
Sahin - Look to provide protection to the defense when not in possession, being the deeper lying midfielder. When we are in possession, look for long passes forward and to be an easy option to play the ball to.
Mavuba - Be a physical presence and look to shackle their midfielders so that they can't play. Sahin should be behind backing you up so you have a little more freedom, but don't go too high up leaving Sahin isolated.
Großkreutz - Look to cut inside as much as you can to get between the full back and centre back, Iraola will want to get forward and will leave space available. Take long range shots.
de Melo - Big chance to prove yourself today, you are bigger and stronger than the two centre halves. Look to win headers, be physical and cause headaches for them, bully Jagielka and Barzagli. Also have a go at their inexperienced goalkeeper.
Roux - Also capable of being physical but more mobile, so play off the striker, let him win the headers then get the second balls. More of a goalscorer than de melo so show that today.
SET PIECES (Try to win a lot of these today as we fancy our chances of scoring)
Left Corner - Großkreutz
Right Corner - Navas
Free Kicks - Navas
Penalties - Mavuba
SUBSTITUTIONS
If winning bring on Cassano and Balmont for Sahin and Roux. Cassano should provide pace to hit them on the counter attack with Balmont providing fresh midfield legs.
If drawing bring on Cassano and Rodelin for Großkreutz and de Melo, Rodelin has a free role on the left with the full backs getting forward more.
If losing bring on Thauvin and Cassano for Mavuba and Großkreutz - move Roux to LW with two strikers and Thauvin giving us some new creativity and should try to make something happen.

------------------------
Boruc, distribute from the back to the fullbacks/CM's, stay in communication with your defence throughout, be wary of long range efforts and ensure you stay big for any one on ones.
Kaboul/Lovren, if Neymar is the striker I want you to double mark him, and leave the AM for Schneiderlin. If Neymar is the AM, one of you mark the striker and the other track Neymar's runs from deep.
Clyne/Shaw, both good footballers but I need you to have more emphasis on defending today. Use the ball wisely, play the ball into the channels for the wingers Ruiz and Lallana, or pass infield to the CM's. Against your opposing winger, force him outside, don't allow him to cut infield otherwise there will be too much pressure on our CB's/Schneiderlin. Force him wide and close him down tightly to prevent a cross coming in.
Defour/Schneiderlin/Giggs, Schneiderlin to be our main DM, if Neymar is the AM then man mark him throughout, track him everywhere and be his shadow throughout. If Neymar is the striker, your job is to sit infront of the back four, fill in as an extra CB if necessary and track their AM if not. Don't be dragged out of position. Defour to be our box to box player. Strength to win the ball and ability to find the passes to hurt Basel. Look for the trio of Ruiz/Lukaku/Lallana. Without the ball and under pressure, join Schneiderlin as a DM and stop the Basel midfield from linking with Neymar. Giggs to be an extra body in midfield, without the ball another obstacle for Basel, with the ball look to link the play and be our playmaker from deep, keep possession ticking over and focus on ball retention.
Ruiz/Lallana, Ruiz to use your trickery to beat their LB and get crosses in, alternatively cut inside and link with Lallana/our midfield to supply Lukaku. If Lukaku drops wide, swap and get into the middle. Shoot if you get the opportunity as you have a good eye for goal. Lallana, you will be more likely to cut inside anyway, link with Ruiz and switch roles on occasion to keep the Basel defence guessing. Shoot if the opportunity arises, but look for Lukaku as well.
Lukaku, lone striker but I want you to mark one CB. If they double mark you, drop deeper to allow the AM's to run into the space. Look to turn and shoot, hold up the ball and supply the AM's of Ruiz/Lallana as they make forward runs around you. Be bold for crosses, get a couple of yards run up to beat their CB's in the air and be your clinical self. Bully and torment their CB's as much as you can, and use your pace to run in behind when counter attacking.
-----------------
Subs 70 mins:
If winning: Giggs off, Barkley on. Fresh (and young) legs in midfield and change to 4-5-1 with Ruiz and Lallana dropping deeper as we absorb pressure then counter attack.
If drawing: Giggs and Schneiderlin off, Ferreira-Carrasco and Barkley on. Ferreira-Carrasco to RW, Barkley to CM with Defour. Both play box to box. Ruiz to AM as we change to 4-2-3-1 and push for the win.
If losing: Giggs and Schneiderlin off, Barkley and Totti on. Formation from 4-3-3 to 4-1-3-2 as Barkley to AM, Totti joins Lukaku upfront and fullbacks push on. Go for goals.

Team talk:
We want to take control of the game and dominate possession. Attacks will be patient but clinical in the final third.
Vermeer: Communicate, catch what you can and parry anything away from the goal.
van Rhijn/Blind: Both of you are encouraged to support the attacks so get up the field when we are in possession and provide width from deep. Don't get too deep into their half and always be aware of the break. When they're attacking make sure you hold your line with the CBs and push the wingers wide if you can to isolate them. Don't commit yourself so at worst you're slowing their attacking momentum.
Ruiz/Vlaar: Stick together and communicate.
Eriksen: Sit in between the midfield and defence and try to pick passes out to the wingers and the strikers. Don't be afraid to take a shot yourself and be keen to get up alongside de Jong for any second balls or rebounds to gobble up.
Boerrigter/Mirallas: Traditional wingers, be direct and go both inside and out when taking your fullback on. Hang on the shoulder for balls over the top and use your speed to get on the end of things and either cross or shoot if you're in the right position.
de Jong: Classic single forward, try and keep the CBs occupied and hang on their shoulders with an eye on where the space may be to get the ball to. Operate in the 18 yard box and be on the move when we have it wide.

Team Talk: We expect Ajax to go three in midfield today, and despite that we shall go with an attacking 4-4-2 formation. We want to push high up the pitch, really close them down and don't allow their passing game to get going. Then when we attack, we get the ball out wide, with our wingers and attacking FB's to get crosses into the box and take advantage of their weak FB's. Want us to place fast paced football, and go at them from the start!
Team Instructions:
Ruddy - Communicate, catch what you can and parry anything away from the goal. Play out through the FB's.
Whittaker/Olsson - Want a lot of energy from you two today. When they have the ball, show their wingers down the line and block the crosses. When we attack I want you to get forward for the overlap, with our wingers cutting inside. Up and down those flanks all day today boys, we want a lot of width from you two. Get the ball off Ruddy and feed the wingers.
Okore/Martins Indi - Stick together and communicate. Neither of you is assigned to follow the striker so take a zone and track him when he enters it, don't get dragged up field. Be watchful for people breaking from deep and keep your midfield informed of who they need to be following. Try and keep a high line, so we can press up the pitch.
Strootman/Fer - You two must provide the energy in the middle. I want you to stop the ball getting to Eriksen, so one of you pick him up. The other shall press and try to win the ball high up the pitch. Both can break forward and score as well.
Snodgrass/Redmond - Both wingers who can play either side so switch throughout. Want you both to mix it up by cutting inside and shooting or crossing or simply laying off for an on rushing midfielder. Both of you must get back in when we defend and double up with your FB's. Crucial to our game today boys.
Quagliarella/Van Wolfswinkel - Quagliarella to drop the deeper of the two, especially in defence if they have a CDM. RVW to stay on the last man and use his clever movement to get in behind, and in the box. From crosses one goes near post, the other far. Look to shoot on sight if you get the chance. Also both must press the CB's/FB's high up the field.

Right guys. We expect Gladbach to line up in their typical 4-2-3-1 formation today....Heimeroth
Korb/Stranzl--Toby-----Dante-----Pasqual
Xavi------Capoue
Herrmann-------Kruse--------Fischer
Aubameyang
Their strengths lie in their two deeper midfielders and the pace they have going forward, which we will try to nullify by taking advantage of Muniain's work rate and when defending sticking him close to Xavi, and by pressurising their 3 attacking midfielders, who are young and inexperienced forcing them into poor decisions and to create a gap between them and the two deeper midfielders. We are also asking one of our CBs to sit deeper to sweep up any attempts to play the ball in behind. Their weaknesses lie in the inexperience in their forward players mentioned before, and also down their right hand side, where they will either have to field a rookie, or an out of position CB. We have put Villa out there to target this area
GK Stand tall, come for crosses that are close to you making them need to aim crosses further out. Distribute short as much as possible. Be on your toes for balls in behind the defence and sweep them up.
FBs Limit your attacking ambitions today and concentrate on picking up the opposition wingers. Get on them straight away and don’t give them time to think. Use their inexperience against them.
CBs – Barzagli will pick up the main striker, whilst Martinez will be spare, sweeping up any attempts to use their pace to burst past Barzagli
Central Mids – Gurpegi will play as the destructive player, breaking up opposition attacks and protecting the back four. Pick up the attacking midfielder. Gonalons will play in support of Gurpegi, pressurising the opposition attacking midfielders. He will look to fill the space between the deeper and attacking midfielders of the opposition, cutting off the supply line forward. He will also help Muniain to double up on Xavi defensively, stifling him of any space
Attacking midfielders – Get on the ball and run at the opposition defence. Try and get the ball out wide, particularly to the left hand side and attack the full backs. Beat the man and get balls into the box for Drogba. Muniain i splaying centrally as he will play as the creative force going forward, but also has an important defensive role as we look to use his high work rate. As soon as we lose the ball, find Xavi and sit tight to him, either giving him no space, or making passing to him, not an option.
Strikers – You are the focal point of the attack. Bully the centre backs and let them know you are there. Hold the ball up and feed the wingers. Get on the end of the crosses into the box.

Tactics v Bilbao

Alderweireld---Dante---Dominguez---Pasquel
-----------------Xavi---Capoue--------------
Sam-----------Aubameyang------------Fischer
------------------------Bakkali--------------------
Team talk: whatever the result v West Ham I want more of the same v Bilbao, fast movement, losing markers and going at the defence with balls at feet and trickery, confuse, bamboozle and most importantly score!
GK: Keep it simple, be vocal early and ensure the defence know their instructions. Stay on your toes and be ready for long range efforts. Look to release the ball out to the wings quickly if their is the opportunity for a counter.
CBs: Dante, look to time your tackles, keep goal side and don't give him an inch. Dominguez to pick up a 2nd striker if there is one, if not to be aware of marauding wingers and attacking midfielders, close down early and block shots. Look to move the ball out onto our flanks. If they're playing 5-3-1-1 then look to play a high line to keep the ball in their half.
FBs: Alderweireld takes the RB spot that he plays for Belgium constantly, if they play wingers then look to contain them on the outside, don't go to ground and slow them down, when we have the ball look to push forward doubling up with our wingers.
CM: Xavi, simple stuff as always today, always one step ahead, probe and tease, move the ball from one flank to the other testing for gaps and then pounce like a cobra with the killer pass as our forward options drag their markers around. Balls to feet at all times. If they have a marker on you who attempts to get physical with you then use your ability to read the game far quicker and get him to mistime a tackle on you, he'll back off once on an early yellow.
AM: Aubameyang in the hole and looking to link up play with Bakkali, between you the speed and movement with the ball at feet allows you to hit quick one twos into the box that'll leave any marker for dead unless they clothesline you or rip the shirt off your back. If they're putting up a wall then crack one through the melee and it might deflect or the keeper spots it late.
WG: Fischer and Sam have a fluid role as wingers, both with the remit to come inside whenever available, use their speed, intelligence and creativity to always be one step ahead of their defense with tricks and movement, when the other winger has the ball then ensure you get into the box to assist the striker. Quick balls where possible past the fullback for Bakkali & Aubameyang to connect with.
ST: the pocket rocket to be like the annoying wasp you just can't get rid of at picnics, constantly on the move, dragging markers with him and opening up space. Look to hit swift one twos with Aubameyang. Be ready to pounce on any loose balls and chase their defence when they have the ball, just annoy them all day long.
Subs: 70m Kruse > Bakkali. Aubameyang to go up front, Kruse to take the AM role.

Team Talk: After back to back weeks I want another win against Glad t'be Bach to prove that we are a force to be reckoned with. They have a strong midfield so we are once again packing in the middle with the three as usual. Ashley and Jenkinson to rule to wings and keep both their wingers and fullbacks from getting forward. Mandzukic to poach up front. They'll be going 4-2-3-1 as usual which is what 5-3-1-1 has been designed to beat!
Jaaskelainen - Control your box, release the ball quickly to our wingbacks or Verratti
Reid/Mexes/Demichelis - They have wingers who tend to cut in so we need to stay strong with a solid back 3. When they have the ball Cole and Jenkinson will be back to help. Reid to mark their sole striker out of the game, get physical and make him switch off
Jenkinson/Ashley - A mixture of attack and defence. When they have the ball get back to aid or back three. Their wingers can be forced out wide where they will be ineffective. Stay on your feet, we cannot afford any stupid freekicks. When we have the ball drive forward and force their fullbacks under pressure, their wingers will either have to drop back (preventing them from being effective up front) or allow us to have room to dominate the game. Look to get crosses in for Mandz or link up with Joe and Lamps
Verratti - Deep lying playmaker again this week as mentioned in the team talk, look to pick up the ball in the deep and play your delightful passes out wide to hit the wing backs as they get forward. You will also always have a nice simple option to one of Lamps or Diamé. In defence pick up their CAM and dont let him away from you, keep them close to you and prvent them from playing
Lampard/Diamé - Box to box for both of you in order to overwhelm them, Diamé to get physical on Xavi and bully him. He is not the physical presence that you are so lets take advantage of that. Prevent him from having an inch at anytime. Lamps to help out Verratti if their wingers drift inside. In attack get forward and give an option. Take pot shots and link up with Joe and Mandz
Joe - Roam around and generally make a nuisance of yourself as usual! Don't allow Capoue to settle on you and make him follow you around the pitch like an obediant little puppy. Drift out wide to release our wing back down past their fullback. We need you to keep them busy, in order to create room for Mandzukic
Mandzukic - Get a head on any crosses and make a nuisance of yourself. Drift between Domínguez and Alderweireldand dont let either settle on you. Look to bury any chances you get, you can shoot us to victory again!
---
Subs:
If winning at 70 minutes - Joe off, Noble on. More defensive to protect the lead
If losing or drawing at 70 minutes - Joe off, Carroll on. Go 5-3-2 with the two CFs up front together to create havoc.

Team talk: two wins in a row and we're playing with confidence. West Ham have typically played a 5-3-1-1 formation looking to remain tight at the back whilst clogging up the centre of the park so I've dropped Aubameyang into the hole to create space and run at speed at the defence whilst I want my flanks to double up against their new fullbacks and keep them pegged in their own half. Speed, movement and energy today, have them chasing shadows and stretch their rigid set up until it snaps!
GK: Keep it simple, be vocal early and ensure the defence know their instructions. Stay on your toes and be ready for long range efforts. Look to release the ball out to the wings quickly if their is the opportunity for a counter.
CBs: The Inferno starts against probably his old Bayern teammate Mandzukic and you'll know him for the training ground for his style. Two disappointing results in a row and we need to get back to winning ways to get ourselves back on track. They are missing their first choice goalkeeper and centre back. We should look to attack them as they are weakened defensively. When we have the ball get the ball up to the forwards who should be encouraged to take shots. Particularly have a go at Kirchhoff/Onohua whoever replaces the injured Costa. Bender and Sahin should generally be fairly defensive to compensate for having adventurous young full backs full of energy getting forward.
PLAYER ROLES
Enyeama - You know what to do. Make saves and look to distribute the ball short.
Coleman - If they play without wingers as they may, then bomb forward constant and hammer their full back in a two vs one situation. However, be a bit more reserved if they put a winger up against you, use your pace to match him and jockey him out wide.
Rami - Both you and Giroud are of a similar physique so a fascinating battle in store today. Look to shadow him, get tight and don't let him get a shot away. Our leader at the back so be vocal and hold a strong defensive line on the edge of the 18 yard box.
Toure - If they opt for two upfront with Remy then you will be working zonally with Rami, if it's just Giroud then look to be the sweeper type role smashing the ball clear.
Souaré - If there is no right winger, get forward at will. If they play with a winger then you have to get back, but you are young and full of energy to get down that wing. Big chance to prove yourself today. Also want you to take throw ins and use that ability as a set piece by throwing them into the box.
Sahin - Sit deep and occupy the space in front of the back four, ensure Taarabt in particular doesn't have any space to work in, same goes for any other attacking midfielder. They will try to drag you out of position so just hold a strong position in front of the back four and don't venture too far away. When we have the ball always be an option. Get forward a bit more than usual.
Bender - Work with Sahin like you do at Dortmund. Get into that zone just outside the 18 yard box and block off the supply lines and give the likes of Taarabt and Coutinho no room to play in.
Navas - Get down the wing and beat your man, look to stay out wide stretching the defense and forcing a big gap between full back and centre back. Get crosses in for Eto'o topaoch.
Thauvin - Box of tricks today when we have the ball. Have the confidence to run with the ball and take a shot from long range. Use your pace to run past players. When we don't have the ball I want you to watch Gerrard and don't let him have time on the ball. On occasion swap places with Roux in attacking situations to cause confusion, and have a go at their full back.
Roux - Use your power to get by Jallet, superior strength and height. Cut inside onto your stronger right foot and have a shot, also keep an eye out for Soauré on the overlapping run. Stay high up the pitch to force them to keep defenders back when not in possession. When Thauvin moves onto the left wing, get into the box as a second striker.
Eto'o - They are missing their first choice defender Ricardo Costa and we expect either Onohua or Kirchhoff to deputise, both of whom are a weakness. Exploit that by sticking on their side and using your clever movement to pick holes in the defense. Expecting you on the scoresheet today, you're still a great finisher.
SET PIECES
Throw ins - Souaré
Left Corner - Thauvin
Right Corner - Navas
Free Kicks - Eto'o
Penalties - Eto'o
SUBSTITUTIONS
If winning bring on Jonathan for Roux to add a fresh energy to our midfield in a 4-5-1. Be fast on the counter attack.
If drawing bring on Cassano for Roux, move to a 4-4-2 with Thauvin moving to the left wing.
If losing bring on Fred, Kjaer and Cassano for Coleman, Souaré and Roux. Play an attacking 3-4-3.

Team Talk: Tough match today but very winnable. With Lille suffering injuries to Nicolai Boilesen & Kevin Großkreutz their left side is weakened which will make it an ideal corridor to supply Giroud. We will use our right flank as Plan A & Plan B will run through the middle. We will start off trying to hold & dominate possession while using each plan route to attack, if we are unable to control the game in this manner we will switch to our defensive game plan (two banks of four) on a permanent basis & carry out our attack routes on the counter.
Defence: Hold an organised bank of four. CB's will try win all headers, tackles & block shots, the basics. Fullbacks to stop crosses, push wingers wide & restrict their attacking play, if you get tight on them don't let them turn you & try win the ball back quick to set up a counter attack.
Midfield: On the defensive Candreva & Remy need to drop to for a bank of four with Gerrard & Carrick. We need to retain possession quickly & work on getting a high rate of turnovers. Lille's central midfielders usually look to stay central & protect their back line, Carrick & Gerrard will use their passing ability to cut them out with a single pass.
Attack: Get crosses in high or low for Giroud. All attacking players can have a crack from range, we want to get as many shots on target & really test Enyeama.
Green: A chance to shine. Be alert & focused. Keep your defence informed & in shape, better they are less you have to do. Claim all air balls near your 6 yard box. Be quick out for one on ones & stay big, don't go down early.
Campagnaro: Expecting new boy Eto'o to start, should be too worried if he does as he doesn't seem to be the old lethal Eto'o we all know and love (or hate to play against), mark him, if he drops deep let him go. Push him onto his weaker foot, he still quick for an old boy so don't let him turn you.
Onuoha: Cover Campagnaro & sweep up, watch for SS/AM any Lille players attacking from deep. If two strikers start mark opposite to Hugo.
Peluso: Don't attack today, you will most likely have to deal with Navas, hes quite limited to his lightening pace, good crossing & one foot so don't let him get going. don't let him past you. Do your best to stop him getting in behind, try keep him out wide, block his crosses & try force him onto his left foot to steal the ball off of him.
Jallet: Want to allow you to attack today. Do not neglect your defensive duties, if there is an opposition winger keep him wide, block, crosses. On the attack get up the flank, give us width by overlapping Candreva. Get plently of crosses in from deep & touchline for Giroud to attack. Pick your moment to attack, stay back at times allowing Gerrard to get forward through the middle.
Carrick: Usual role of holding, breaking up play & distribution. Protect the defensive line, look to dictate the tempo with Gerrard. Play the ball out to the right flank finding Candreva or look for Coutinho in the hole. Remy will be drifting from left to inside so when in space pick him out.
Gerrard: Assist Carrick in breaking up play & dictating it. With Jallet attacking we need you to cover that gap if we lose possession when hes out of position. Look to play Jallet in down the flank, feed Candreva & Coutinho. Try the over the top ball to Giroud. When Jallet is back & we attack through the middle look to link up with Coutinho, find him in space & run on into space to receive the ball back or just simply be a diversion, pick you pass, shoot from range if on.
Candreva: When not in possession drop back. Get crosses in for Giroud, when Jallet overlaps drop to support him or drift inside, always be on for him to pass to. Shoot from edge of the box if on or shoot on sight inside the box, alternatively play that cheeky "eye of the needle" ball for Giroud.
Coutinho: Off the ball drop ontp the deepest Lille midfielder & work on stopping them have an influence & nicking the ball from them. Attacking you are playing in the hole & have a free role. I reckon Lille will stick a marker on you, a physical one, so use your trickery & dribbling to lose them. One touch passing, quick link up play & movement will help you find space. Shoot from the edge of the box, controled placement is more to your strength then piledrivers. Link with Gerrard when we play through the middle. Play off Giroud when hes holding up the ball. Get in the box late when we play from the flanks.
Remy: When not in possession drop back & double up on Navas, your quick too so try match him or at least stay on him & crowd him out with Peluso. Lille tend to have attacking fullbacks so when we turnover play look to take advantage of the space. Most of our play will run through the opposite flank so when it does drift inside & make your runs to the back post. With the ball take your man on, use your pace to beat Coleman, get crosses in for Giroud, shoot on sight in the box.
Giroud: Lead the line today, play off the last defender. Hold the ball up if required. Stay central & get in the box as often as possible. Attack all crosses, high or low you have shown the ability to put both away. When we have the ball in the final third step your movement up, get in front of your marker. Keep your composure in the box & pick you spot to shoot.

-------------------------
Tough game today against Ajax, they have some great players going forward but I want us to take the game to them and use our attacking threat to our advantage. I want us to play a passing game, everything to feet, in our AM trio we have three very creative players, use the trickery and ability to create chances for Benteke up top.
Speroni, distribute from the back to the fullbacks/CM's, stay in communication with your defence throughout, be wary of long range efforts and ensure you stay big for any one on ones.
Kaboul/Lovren, Kaboul to mark the striker, and Lovren to sit and watch the runners from deep/wide. When in possession bring the ball out of defence and use the midfielders ahead of you to help us play out from the back.
Jones/Shaw, both good footballers but I need you to have more emphasis on defending today.
Schneiderlin/Defour, Schneiderlin as our DM, sit there and track Eriksen whenever he is in an advanced position. Don't be dragged out of position. If Eriksen drops into midfield, let him go and Defour will track him. Don't allow time for anyone from midfield to shoot. Defour to be our box to box player. Strength to win the ball and ability to find the passes to hurt Ajax. Look for the trio of Ruiz/Totti/Lallana, and if the pass is on, Benteke. Without the ball and under pressure, join Schneiderlin as a DM and stop the Ajax CM's.
Totti, I want you to have a free role, however that free role must be in and around the Ajax midfield when we don't have the ball. Harass him and make him panic or go backwards. When we have the ball, drift deep, further forward, or out wide. Don't give the Ajax DM an easy ride. Attempt to drag him out of position to leave space for others. On occasion, switch with Ruiz/Lallana to confuse the DM and fullbacks, Ruiz and Lallana can become the AM comfortably as can you become the winger. Look for Benteke making runs or backing into the defenders, utilise the ball to feet with Benteke's back to goal, so he can turn the CB and shoot like he can.
Ruiz/Lallana, Ruiz to use your trickery to beat their LB and get crosses in, alternatively cut inside and link with Totti/Lallana to supply Benteke. If Benteke drops wide, swap and get into the middle. Shoot if you get the opportunity as you have a good eye for goal. Lallana, you will be more likely to cut inside anyway, link with Totti and switch roles on occasion to keep the Ajax defence guessing. Shoot if the opportunity arises, but look for Benteke as well.
Benteke, lone striker but I want you to mark one CB. If they double mark you, drop deeper to allow the AM's to run into the space. Look to turn and shoot, hold up the ball and supply the AM's of Ruiz/Totti/Lallana as they make forward runs around you. Be bold for crosses, get a couple of yards run up to beat their CB's in the air and be your clinical self. Bully and torment their CB's as much as you can, and use your pace to run in behind when counter attacking.
-------------------------
Subs 70 mins:
If winning: Totti off, Nocerino on. Change to 4-5-1 with Nocerino in midfield, absorb the pressure and counter attack.
If drawing: Totti and Ruiz off, Lukaku and Ferreira-Carrasco on. Change to 4-4-2, Lukaku up with Benteke and both get into the area. Ferreira-Carrasco to do what he does and beat the fullback, get crosses in. Push for the win.
If losing: Defour off, Lukaku on. Change to 4-1-3-2 with Lukaku joining Benteke upfront, fullbacks push forward as well in the hunt for goals, get crosses into the area.

Team talk:
Tough fixture today against a team with real firepower up front. To combat the aerial threat we are going to play a high defensive line to halt the cross from deep and blanket the wingers to stop the cross if they penetrate. With the ball we will be the same unit, looking to pick the lock and utilising the strengths out wide.
Cillessen: Normal stuff, talk to your defence, but shout loud because they will be way up field. Sneaking suspicion that they may ask one of their big men to get in and around you and crowd you, so go up and get high balls in and if you feel contact go down and take the foul.
van Rhijn/Antonelli: Important roles for you today. I need you to hold the line with your CBs so keep looking and checking your positioning. Aside from that you need to stick on your wingers and don’t let them run free or get past you. Any time they get near the 18 yard box, jockey them and try to block the cross from coming in. If you’re in line with your other defenders and they run on past you without the ball, let them go and stick your hand up in the air for offside.
Ruiz/Vlaar: We anticipate two strikers and them to be marking one of you each. Don’t worry who has who, just worry about holding the defensive line high and if they get the ball into the box disrupt their ability to get a clean header.
Clasie/Leitner: Both of you are to sit in front of the back four when we’re defending and keep the midfield congested to stop the balls out wide or over the top. When we get it try and retain possession and move the ball forward along the ground. Only one go forward at a time and I trust you to communicate between yourselves.
Varela/Mirallas: You’re both wingers but your base position is slightly deeper today to represent the fact you will have some defensive responsibility. Stick with the full backs if they go up the field and don’t let them deliver easy crosses from deep. On the ball, be yourselves and look to take men on and get the ball across. You’re both free to cut inside to link with Eriksen but we want to keep the base shape and some width.
Eriksen: The fulcrum of the team today, and you’ll be between the defence and midfield. Just occupy that hole and affect the game from there. Look for the ball often and move it around, even simple passes to keep us ticking. You have the ability to find the killer ball so look wide to the wingers or to Milito who’ll be moving ahead of you.
Milito: Goalscoring is all I expect. Get in and around the 18yd box and make subtle movements to try and create space for a ball to you. When it’s wide, get moving to meet the crosses.
If winning 75mins
Poulsen on for Clasie – simply for fresh legs in the middle to snuff out the attacks.
If losing 75mins
Arnautovic for Clasie – go 4-4-2 with Arnie joining Milito up front.

Team talk:
Right guys. Difficult to know what tactics to expect today as it is a new manager in a struggling side. Normally VivaJackWilshere- teams are tasked with trying to cover every possible tactical option without focusing on any single plan, so we will play a patient passing game and keep them running about and stretch and tire themselves. When the chance arrives we will attack down the flanks and get balls into the box for our little and large partnership. Defensively, we will keep it solid and tight, whilst Gonalons will look to take the danger man Neymar out of the game.
CBs – Barzagli will pick up the main striker, whilst Martinez will either pick up any second striker or play as the spare man.
Central Mids – Gurpegi is playing the destructive role, breaking up opposition attacks, whilst Gonalons will get on Neymar and follow him. Support Gurpegi defensively to allow the wingers to be more attack minded,.
Strikers – Play as a partnership, with Drogba being the power and the presence to bully the defence, Villa being the guile and the pace.. Defensively, pressurise the ball high up the pitch as soon as we lose it.

Team Talk: Up against a strong side today, I don't want my FB to attack much as Munian and Suaesta are very dangerous. Our attack will come from the wingers and Neymar who will play in a free role. Streller play in the 18 yard box hold the ball pass and move don't stay static.
GK Make yourself big if any balls come across you try to catch if you have to punch out, make the goal look smaller hit the ball long to our CF. Any shots you can't hold on parry away from goal.
FB I don't want them to push up as much be more conservative in attack, when defending watch for the wingers going inside jockey them and try to push them out wide.
CB Dragovic pick up Drogba put him off in the air attack him early not allowing him to get in control of ball. Schar watch any player making runs of Drogba intercept and block reading the game.
CM Diaz and Frei to sit back and get the game starting from deep look for wingers who'll make runs in behind the fullbacks or Neymar who will always look to pick up ball. Follow your runners and stick by them close any gap for them to shoot. When they come in our half put pressure on the ball making them go backwards.
Wingers Salah drive at your man running at him making him commit use width get crosses in for Streller or look for Neymar drifting around by cutting inside. Valentin use your dribbling keeping close control and get crosses in. Both wingers have to track back.
Strikers Neymar our key man, drop between their midfield and defence demand the ball and run at them, use your tricks and skills to beat your man look to either get on goal or play a team mate through. Streller play as our target man get in between the two CB drifting between the two try and get on the end of crosses.
SUBS 75 MIN IF LOSING
Valentin off Bellamy on (Bellamy to come inside an link with Streller)
SUBS 75 MIN IF WINNING
Streller off Xhaka on (Neymar plays as striker and Xhaka to go in midfield)

CB - Sebastien Bassong

LB - Martin Olsson
RM - Robert Snodgrass
CM - Leroy Fer
CM - Kevin Strootman
LM - Nathan Redmond
ST - Fabio Quagliarella
ST- Ricky Van Wolfswinkel

Carvajal---BASSONG---Martins Indi---Olsson
Snodgrass---Fer---Strootman---Redmond
--------Quagliarella---RVW-------------
Team Talk: Gone with a similar setup to last week as feel it will work well again but this week we are stronger with the return of BASSONG and Carvajal coming into the side. We expect Corinthians to go three in midfield today, and despite that we shall go with an attacking 4-4-2 formation.
Carvajal/Olsson - Want a lot of energy from you two today. When they have the ball, show their wingers down the line and block the crosses. When we attack I want you to get forward for the overlap, with our wingers cutting inside. Up and down those flanks all day today boys, we want a lot of width from you two. Get the ball off Ruddy and feed the wingers.
Bassong/Martins Indi - Stick together and communicate.
If they play a CAM one of you sit and pick him up.
Penalties - Snodgrass
Free Kicks - Snodgrass
Corners - Snodgrass
Subs:
70 mins - Pilkington for Redmond, Tettey for Fer. New creative force going forward, keep them on their toes whether we are in front or behind.
- Corinthians:

Gamez --Vidic---Ginter --- Felipe
-----------Gargano
----Shirokov ------Guilherme
--------------Pjanic--------
------Joaquin-------Muriel
Subs: Julio Cesar/Chicao/Gil/Felipe/Ednilson/Romarinho/Guerrero
Team Talk: Playing Inbred of Norwich should be a tight affair want to dominate the centre. Wing backs to get forward. Joaquin to join Muriel up top to pace abuse
Gamez: Id expect your be up against Redmond, Squeeze on him and show him down the line, if cuts inside Ralf will help you. What we want to do is make sure he's tracking back so when we have the ball bomb forwards and give us the option out wide
Vidic: Keep in line with forward presumably RVW make sure if they try to pass into feet then get there before him, Make sure you keep in line with Ginter. If he goes onto Ginter watch for the AM coming on. With pass get it into Shirokov/Gargano or hit out wide for a countering Full Bakc
Ginter: I want you to watch for AM coming as Vidic will pick up the forward. If sticks on you then force him away from goal with your physical presence. If their out wide help Felipe with Snodgrass
Felipe Luis: Your be up against Snodgrass, He's not quick but he's trick so watch the ball not he's feet , Ginter will help you double him if he comes inside, Try force him down the wing. When we have the ball i doubt he'll want to track back so get forwards and attack Carvajal
Gargano: If Hoolalan plays which is likely with Hooper injured, Stick on him and don't allow him to create anything, Look to marshall infront on defense if drops deeper.
Guilherme: I want you to be active and get amongst their midfield presumably Fer & Strootman, Look to get in their faces and give them no time on the ball. When defending sit infront of defense along side Gargano
Shirokov: Look to control the midfield and play, Look to get the ball into Pjanic to create. Once got the ball up the pitch look to run on beyond Pjanic and get yourself to the edge of the box
Pjanic: Look to sit in the gap between Defense & DM's look to release Muriel/Joaquin in behind. If defending then try and get onto Strootman
Muriel: Get on to the last CB and make runs in behind look to dribble at them if drop deeper. Look to get in behind their right back who shall get up the pitch when he can.
Joaquin: Yes this is very odd as i have 2 forwards on the bench but both are slow like Norwich defense so Joaquin shall go up top and drift across the front and look for spaces in behind.
Subs: If losing Guerrero for Joaquin after 50 minutes

Team talk: Like a game of FIFA13 I want to abuse the opposition with the options we have going forward, the chess battle of Pirlo v Xavi in the middle will be heavily contested. For periods there will be times of pressure so drop back to a 4-5-1 when needed, soak, and then once we have the ball explode with pace on the counter.
AM: Sam in the hole and looking to link up play with Aubameyang, between you the speed and movement with the ball at feet allows you to hit quick one twos into the box that'll leave any marker for dead unless they clothesline you or rip the shirt off your back. If they're putting up a wall then crack one through the melee and it might deflect or the keeper spots it late. If Pirlo is dictating play then drop deeper and assist in breaking up play.
WG: Fischer and Bernard have a fluid role as wingers, both with the remit to come inside whenever available, use their speed, intelligence and creativity to always be one step ahead of their defense with tricks and movement, when the other winger has the ball then ensure you get into the box to assist the striker. Quick balls where possible past the fullback for Sam & Aubameyang to connect with.
ST: Look to hit swift one twos with Sam. Be ready to pounce on any loose balls and chase their defence when they have the ball, just annoy them all day long. Drag markers out of place to open up gaps for other options. Don't hesitate to go down if they're getting physical with you.
Subs: 70m Bakkali>Sam. Use the fresh legs to continue the assault.

Injuries: David Stockdale + Sylvain Distin + Sascha Riether + Ross Barkley
TEAM TALK:
This is going to be our toughest test yet – but I have faith in you lads. This Gladbach side is fast on the flanks and solid in midfield – to nullify those threats we are going to control possession from kick off to the final whistle, harry them all over the pitch when they have the ball, and put their CBs under huge pressure through Lambert. You’re still unbeaten lads, so go out there and get us back in the title race!
ATTACK TACTICS:
There are three components to our attacks: Lambert and Holtby (1), Biglia, Pirlo and Ramsey (2) and Clyne and Balzaretti (3). I want to see lots of possession, lots of quick passing play, and near the opposition box I want to see quick one-twos so we can get into the box and stick a few goals away!
1. Holtby is in fine form at the moment – I want Lambert to stretch the CBs by switching marker, winning headers, and making runs. This will allow Holtby to get on the ball and play through balls for him, the CMs bursting through and the overlapping FBs.
2. Biglia, Pirlo and Ramsey are the second threat for Gladbach. Pirlo will sit very deep and orchestrate play, using his range of pinpoint long passes to free Holtby, Ramsey, Biglia and the FBs. Ramsey and Biglia will be box-to-box CMs, defending hard at one end and bursting forward into space at the other. With Ramsey in such fine goalscoring form at the moment all eyes will be on him, so I want to see Biglia make clever runs into space to make chances for his teammates.
3. Clyne and Balzaretti will play like Brazilian FBs – only one can attack at a time, at which point the other will drop back to make a back four with the three CBs. The FB that is attacking will offer an overlap for the midfielders, drawing crucial men away from the centre to allow the trio of Ramsey, Holtby and Biglia space to score goals for us.
DEFENCE TACTICS:
There are four components to our defence against the threat of Gladbach: Zouma, Hangeland and Amorebieta (1), Clyne and Balzaretti (2), Pirlo, Biglia, Ramsey and Holtby (3) and Stekelenburg (4). All outfield players will work hard to close down the opposition, hound them into mistakes, and keep wide players out wide and CMs rushed (in particular Xavi, don’t give him even half a yard of space).
1. Zouma, Hangeland and Amorebieta are a back three unit that will work together to snuff out attacks. Hangeland will mark the Gladbach striker tightly – win all headers with his height, keep the man close with his physicality, and use his knowledge of the game to stop the striker spinning off him into space. Amorebieta and Zouma will act as cover as they have more pace, so if there is a break from central they will deal with it. If Gladbach play two strikers, Amorebieta will mark him allowing Zouma to play as the covering CB.
2. Clyne and Balzaretti will can attack one at a time, at which point the other will drop back to make a back four with the three CBs. When defending, their wingers will try and beat you for pace – use yours to counter that, keep them wide, and shepherd them to the touchline or into making a pass. If they cut inside, Amorebieta and Zouma will be covering, so just concentrate on keeping your man out wide and stifle him.
3. Pirlo will already be sitting deep as playmaker, so he can also take responsibility for closing down their AM. Biglia, Ramsey and Holtby will be responsible for taking on Capoue and Xavi. Xavi can’t hurt us if he’s closed down quickly, so get tight on him and force a mistake. Capoue is the real clincher – force him into a mistake and we’ll have some space in dangerous territory. So I want to see Biglia closing down Xavi quickly, and both Ramsey AND Holtby targeting Capoue to win the ball back and spring a quick attack.
4. Stekelenburg will marshal the defence and ensure that the CBs knows where their opponents are; release the CMs or FBs so they can get our passing going, or, as a last resort, lump the ball down to Lambert so he can bring the ball down and create something.
Subs:
If winning or drawing – on 70mins – di Natale on for Lambert
Formation: same as before
Instructions: Use your pace to unsettle those tired Gladbach defenders, and linkup with the midfielders to get us another goal.
If losing – on 70mins – Berbatov and di Natale on for Zouma and Biglia
Formation: 4-3-3, with Berba playing off Lambert and di Natale.
Instructions: Go for broke to get the extra goal (or two) we need. They won’t be able to stop the three of you combined.

Team Talk: Southampton are injury hit with their top 2 strikers & CB injured, That being said we're still doomed but we're going for the defensively solid and hope to get a draw.
Cassio: Look to clear up through balls behind the defense. Release to a full back.
Defensive Tactics: Look to squeeze in make a tight back 4 in the middle and force them to cross it in
Gamez: Id expect your be up against Lallana, Squeeze on him and show him down the line, if cuts inside Gargano will help you. What we want to do is make sure he's tracking back so when we have the ball bomb forwards and overlap Joaquin to give space.
Gil: Keep in line with Defoe make sure if they try to pass into feet then get there before him, Make sure you keep in line with Ginter. If he goes onto Ginter watch for the AM coming on. With pass get it into Edenilson or hit out wide for a counter
Ginter: I want you to watch for Totti coming as Gil will pick up the forward. If sticks on you then force him away from goal with your physical presence. If their out wide help Felipe with Ruiz
Felipe Luis: Your be up against Ruiz, He's not quick but he's trick so watch the ball not he's feet , Gil will help you double him if he comes inside, Try force him down the wing. When we have the ball i doubt he'll want to track back so overlap Januzaj
Gargano: Look to sit infront of the defense and hassle Totti and give him no time to create. Look to get the balls into Pjanic/Edenilson if possible
Edenilson: Sit along side Gargano and make them go out wide, If they come towards you look to force them away from our box. Edenilson when on the ball get it to the one of the front 3
Joaquin: Shaw will want to get up the pitch so just stay at half way line if he does to go on the counter, look to use your experience and turn him inside out and whip a ball across the box.
Januzaj: My motto has always been if your good enough your old enough, So look to go out and take on Jones use the trickery and dribbling ability you have to turn him and drift inside and look to link up with the other front 3, remember to track back and help with Ruiz. Look for Gamez getting ahead of you.
Pjanic: Look to drift across the midfield today and get in the gaps between presumably Nocerino & Schneiderlin, Look to play the ball in behind the defense for Joaquin,Januzaj or Muriel to get onto, If they sit on your then go further up alongside Muriel
Muriel: I want you to get on Nacho and back in bully him look to spin in behind him using your blistering pace. Pjanic will make runs from midfield so run in behind Kaboul when he does so you pull both defenders away to create a gap

Manager's note: No escaping it, severe injuries this week. But I have picked a side that copes well with capable replacements. So we should still continue the same approach with the same impact, and target the gaping hole at the back of the Corinthians defence with Vidic missing. Continue playing the free flowing passing football we usually attempt.
Abbiati, distribute from the back to the fullbacks/CM's, stay in communication with your defence throughout, be wary of long range efforts and ensure you stay big for any one on ones.
Kaboul/Nacho, Kaboul to mark the striker, and Nacho to sit and watch the runners from deep/wide. When in possession bring the ball out of defence and use the midfielders ahead of you to help us play out from the back.
Jones/Shaw, both good footballers but I need you to have more emphasis on defending today. Use the ball wisely, play the ball into the channels for the wingers Pienaar and Lallana, or pass infield to the CM's. Against your opposing winger, force him outside, don't allow him to cut infield otherwise there will be too much pressure on our CB's/Schneiderlin. Force him wide and close him down tightly to prevent a cross coming in.
Schneiderlin/Nocerino, Schneiderlin as our DM, sit there and track the Corinthians AM whenever he is in an advanced position. Don't be dragged out of position. If their AM drops into midfield, let him go and Nocerino will track him. Don't allow time for anyone from midfield to shoot. Nocerino to be our box to box player. Strength to win the ball and ability to find the passes to hurt Corinthians. Look for the trio of Lallana/Ruiz/Pienaar, and if the pass is on, Defoe. Without the ball and under pressure, join Schneiderlin as a DM and stop the Corinthians CM's.
Ruiz, Playing in the AM role as I feel you can do a lot of damage there, I also want you to target the Corinthians defensive midfielder when we don't have the ball. Harass him and make him panic or go backwards. When we have the ball, drift deep, further forward, or out wide. Don't give the Corinthians DM an easy ride. Attempt to drag him out of position to leave space for others. On occasion, switch with Pienaar/Lallana to confuse the DM and fullbacks, Pienaar and Lallana can become the AM comfortably as can you become the winger. Look for Defoe making runs or backing into the defenders, play the ball over the top/in behind for Defoe to run onto as he is very skilled at making those runs.
Lallana/Pienaar, Pienaar to cut inside their LB the majority of the time and get passes in to the other AM's or Defoe, occasionally drift outside. Use Shaw overlapping to create space. Shoot if you get the opportunity as you have a good eye for goal. Lallana, you will be more likely to cut inside anyway, link with Ruiz and switch roles on occasion to keep the Corinthians defence guessing. Shoot if the opportunity arises, but look for Defoe as well.
Defoe, lone striker but I want you to mark one CB. If they double mark you, drop deeper to allow the AM's to run into the space. Look to turn and shoot, and make runs in behind regularly to give the AM's a target. If they defend deep, get closer to goal, if they defend high, use your pace. Be bold for crosses, get a couple of yards run up to try beat their CB's in the air and be your clinical self. Use your pace to run in behind when counter attacking.
-------------------------
Subs 70 mins:
If winning: Ruiz off, Giggs on. Change to 4-5-1 with Giggs an extra body in midfield, absorb the pressure and counter attack. Giggs to use his brain and retain possession better.
If drawing: Ruiz off, Totti on. Like for like, Totti with something different as we push for the win.
If losing: Schneiderlin off, Totti on. Change to 4-1-3-2 with Totti joining Defoe upfront, fullbacks push forward as well in the hunt for goals, get crosses into the area.
