4th Ashes Test Durham
First topic message reminder :
They're all at it again on Friday. Just as England are likely to chuck in a bad performance when everyone expects them to win (Leeds 09, Perth 2010/11, Manchester 2013) they usually bounce back next Test (Lord's and Oval 09, Melbourne 2010/11).
I'm taking England to win one of the last two Tests to ensure a series victory. Onions, it seems, will come in and that could be a good move. Still think this is not a very strong Australia team. It's just that they were an average team playing poorly in the first two Test while at Manchester they were an average team playing well.
Before Manchester, we were asking if Australia could improve/get back into the series. Well they certainly achieved the former if not the latter. Now we could ask - Can England start firing on all cylinders ?

Re: 4th Ashes Test Durham
Its all personal opinion though Mysti. I like Boycs in small amounts, find Flintoff really irritating (just a bit thick to be honest), ditto Tuffers but admittedly less so and Warne is OK but couldn't even spell irony.mystiroakey wrote:He needs to be funnier mate.. Its all a bit dry.(not saying that the new media signing of strauss is much better though!!!)
If we could just have boycott, warne, flinty and tuffers I would be in heaven!!

I love Bumble myself.
But in reality Id rather listen to TMS commentary rather than Sky.

I too prefer TMS, though Boycott gets tiresome. Like Nasserd commentary.

Botham has the amazing ability to know where the fielding side should've placed someone after the ball passes there

English commentators are very balanced on the whole which can be a bit mind numbing!! At least with TMS they talk about a lot of relevant and irrelevant stuff(mostly interesting) with humour!!
I would like some hardcore Aussies and English to commentate the odd game.. That would be fun!

Re: 4th Ashes Test Durham
Test Match Sofa is a good alternative for commentary. Not something maybe to listen to all day, but for an hour or so its good to hear the view of someone who was not a England Captain.
Sky's commentary is ok, but all the back slapping and jokes about each other is tiresome after a while.

Game of two ends at the moment...
Harris pretty much unplayable. I'm sure Boycott's advice on TMS would be to get yourself down the other end.

Re: 4th Ashes Test Durham
3 cracking balls by Harris this morning have checked England, but it seems Bresnan has timed the counter-attack perfectly.
Lead up to 268, England in control right now. 30 odd more runs should do it.

How do you expect Broad and Bresnan to play then Gerry considering there main job is to bowl the opposition or are you like I assume just a jumped little gobshite?

Bresnan's in as an all round and Broad is proclaimed the new Flintoff. Bat like men, but as they are cowards it's unlikely. The Terror of Tylorstown wrote:How do you expect Broad and Bresnan to play then Gerry considering there main job is to bowl the opposition or are you like I assume just a jumped little gobshite?

I don't think you need to look at a cricket scorecard to know when England are doing well - you just need to look at what the wums are doing!
