TV Shows. Empty TV Shows.

Post by Holymiky Sun 11 Aug 2013, 9:33 pm

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on TV series that i can watch.

I am aware of the CSI series' and i have seen all of the New York episodes and i am probably around half way through what i think are the original Crime Scene Investigation episodes.

Also i have watched some of the Prison Break first season which i do plan to finish watching at some point along with the other seasons and the other shows i mentioned.

Anyway do you have any series that you recommend i should watch?

I have a few shows lined up other than what i have mentioned but i would love to know what you guys suggest.

Thanks OK

Sherlock is probably the best thing on TV at the moment, the third series is going to be out soon but go back and re-watch the first two series, only six episodes, although each is an hour and a half.

Parks and Rec, yes. Amazing show. Hilarious.

As for dramas, the UK Life on Mars is a must if you haven't seen it and as for US dramas go for something like Dexter (which is brilliant). And Spooks as well. Bloody loved Spooks. Can't believe they ended it.

Game of Thrones
Breaking Bad
Walking Dead

If you like Prison Break then just avoid season 4, yes it's tempting to see how it ends but just don't.
And if you do then, then especially don't watch the 2 part special afterwards.

If you fancy an amazing old series, it doesn't get much better than millennium from Chris carter.

The walking dead is pretty amazing.

Six Feet Under is my standard recommendation for these things, TV has not and will not get any better than that.

Failing that Breaking Bad's a good shout, the final 8 episodes start tonight so it shout be finished by the time you get round to watching it.

Comedy wise, I'm on a mission from god to spread the word of Still Game outside Scotland, so watch that if you haven't already.

Presume you were a Wingnut* as well?

* i.e. a fan of The West Wing. Best TV programme ever for the first 3 seasons while Aaron Sorkin was heavily involved.

Bit harsh, Series 5 was very good and 3 & 4 had some cool moments despite being a mess overall

Series 5, i.e. the carnival one? That was the worst of the lot.

I think Series 3 and 4 were decent, but to watch them you'd have to go through season 2.

I have all the series on DVD, but I honestly think to preserve Heroes you should only watch the first series which was probably the best series of TV ever.

Continuum is very good enjoyed both series so far.

Arrow is not a bad series if you like superheroes (although none have superhero powers).

Falling Skies is a pretty good as well.

Flashforward was a good series but unfortunately it only lasted the one series furious

Just finished watching the second season of the West Wing. Hopefully I'll enjoy the 3rd just as much.

Just finished watching Luthor from the start, so if you wish a British counter point to the predominantly American shows listed, then that isn't a bad one. Otherwise, get yourself a box set of Dexter and enjoy!

I enjoyed it more the later it got. The last two seasons were fantastic, especially the live presidential debate. Brilliant acting.

I enjoyed the 5th series, or volume or whatever they were called, yeh it had it's weaknesses but I thought by trimming down the number of characters they focused or per episode and shaving off the chaff in general they were able to tell a much more coherent storyline,

That said I clearly didn't enjoy he first series as much as you did, I thought it was good, great even, but I've seen better series of TV, though that's just IMHO.

Can I not get some love for Six Feet Under, seems I'm the only person who suggested it so far, now that was the best programme ever on TV, at least from the perspective of someone who hasn't got round to watching the Wire yet.

Watch it mate. 2 of the best characters of all time in Ari Gold and Johnny Drama.

Have recently watched Game of Thrones and am now watching Breaking Bad which are both great.

Would agree with Adam about the US office. Great show!
