Messi on the basis that he will occasionally pass to his team mates.

Ronaldo will always look to shoot or dribble, and sometimes I think he seems a hindrance to Real (you know, despite the buckets of goals he does get).

Ronaldo is sht hot, but messi is one level ahead.

Messi,is the best in the world at the moment.Ronaldo is a great player but he is a bit behind Messi.Ronaldo gave a jersey to a fan who broke his nose at a match the other day.Fair play.

Ronaldo is an amazing player he has it all speed, skills, great crosser of the ball, gets lots of goals and is excellent in the air. He isn't a team player he plays for himself but does very well and if the rest of the Real Madrid team could produce half of what he does on a regular basis they may have won the league/champions league this season.

Messi doesn't have Ronaldo's height or physical presence but he is just as quick better at dribbling, better passer and is the only player in the World capable of outscoring Ronaldo. He is more of a team player and benefits from those around him unlike Ronaldo who looks like Real Madrid are holding him back.

Both players play for teams that are built around him and it's no surprise that the player with the better team mates is more successul. Personally I think Messi is the better of the 2 but not by much.
