4th Ashes Test Durham
First topic message reminder :
Half way there already.
will England finally change the batting around?
will the stop picking their favourites and give the obvious choices like Onions at home a chance? (Though Bresnan and broads bowling here would suggest not, show sweat I know).

Get in Broady. They may only have 129 runs to get but tailenders struggle with scoreboard pressure.

Not any more. Haddin's gone!trebellbobaggins wrote:Haddin still there, Siddle.. Harris.
70-30 aussie with so few runs to get.
Wait - Aussies review...Hawkeye says "Umpire's Call" and thats it. Broad gets his 3rd victim.
Just about game, set and match to England.

Australia have collapsed from 109-0 to 181-7.
There is no way in hell they are going to save this.

This is some collapse. 6-34 in about 13 overs. Never saw it coming
Broad 3-5 in 5 overs. Brings back memories of Trent Bridge 2011

that's like athertons side just put on the green and gold.
but this side have serious guys , the tail mean they are still favourites.
Harris is a match winner, his first innings batting might have been the difference.

The good thing about england's bowling is that we are good enough in any conditions..We have the variance. When broad bowls like this we wonder why we doubt him.. And add his batting that he can do!!
If only he was consistent.. If only!

I just don't like that wide delivery he bowls sometimes VTR. You just need to bowl straight in these conditions and it will seam randomly!

Well if he was consistent as well, he'd be the perfect cricketer...and those are few and far between.

"Jimmy has been really average in this game.

probably but its not a seaming pitch is it!
Obviously in hindsight he was the man to rest/drop for onions.
But that was never going to happen!

60-40 aussie now.
Siddle's batting average is only 15.2... Harris' only 17.6...
100 or so runs is still a lot to get between them.

Still got to get these two out. Lyon and Bird are basically rabbits , but these two can bat.
Not calling it yet.
...big improvement on an hour ago , mind
French cut for four...is this going to be Edgbaston 2005 , Trent Bridge...
Maybe not ...Harris plum lbw
Broad the hero !

Re: 4th Ashes Test Durham
Harris gone...lbw for 11! Broad gets his 4th wicket.
Aus now 199-8.
Almost there...Lyon and Bird are proper tail enders, so this shouldn't take long.

Re: 4th Ashes Test Durham
oh and Harris is gone.
and Stewart called bird Big Bird there. Glad I'm not alone.
so, Siddle who top scored in India is the man for Aussie. That's why I still feel they can do it.
But I think it's harder without Harris out there.
Good for Eng they can turn to Broad when Anderson doesn't do it and Bres provides back-up and Swann also very good. Aussie much the same though they have the 5th seamer Watson and the second spinner (though the firstly hardly spins it). Still think Aussie have the better depth if eng don't get Tremmers and onions involved.

and more 4's being smashed. aussie only need 99 now.
The fantatics are shouting loudly hailing their teams batting there. they still reckon they can do it. never give up spirit right there.

Swann not good with the hands again.
are Kings club side going to regret batting poorly? the aussies only need double digits as the king of cricket says.
