Chris fountain sacked from Corrie for singing about raping women!!

Coronation Street actor Chris Fountain has been sacked by the soap after he was exposed as a masked rapper who posted strongly worded videos online.

The YouTube clips purportedly showed Fountain rapping about raping women and committing violent acts in the guise of his alter-ego "The Phantom".

The correct decision for me, I saw the video, ITV can't condone that behaviour. I feel sorry for the guy as he's clearly made a huge mistake, and one that's cost him a good 3-5 years of a burgeoning acting career.

He did it voluntarily and deliberately disguised himself knowing that if his identity was revealed there would be serious repercussions. Hard to have sympathy for someone who does something so incredibly (and wilfully) stupid.

he had to be sacked. Coronation street is a soap primarily viewed by women and itv would be worried about losing viewers or upsetting viewers if they carried on employing a man who sang a song fantasizing about raping women.
