First topic message reminder :

Thought I'd pop one of these up...

Norwich currently beating Bury 3-0, Ravel Morrison gives Dolphin a boner with a goal on full debut

MK Dons currently leading Sunderland 2-0 meaning Sunderland players shall be starved tomorrow

Peterborough absolutely spanking a strong Reading side as well

Arsenal: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Monreal, Wilshere, Ramsey, Cazorla, Rosicky, Miyaichi, Bendtner.

Chelsea: Schwarzer, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Luiz, Bertrand, Essien, Mikel, De Bruyne, Mata, Willian, Eto'o.
When you look at the starting XI's and really break it down in playing time and UCL experience Arsenal have absolutely no case to use the "we played our reserves" excuse. Even Giroud and Ozil got a lot of minutes. Yes, 8 of the Chelsea XI all play for their countries but so do 7/8 of the Arsenal side.

Norwich should sack Hughton IMO Lovely guy, but i think they should go all out for Mackay at Cardiff, he is a great manager and needs to get out of Cardiff, which looks set to turn into a joke club by the hands of there idiotic owners.

Stronger than usual side for Wenger in the league cup but still didn't show real commitment to the competition and another trophy goes begging. I know they have started the league well but after so many seasons without a trophy you feel this is another one just thrown away.

I can't see anyway back for him now. Everybody was prepared to give him 10 or so games at the start of this season, but nothing's changed despite the new players being brought in. He's trying to mould them into his side, instead of moulding the team round them. We've won something like 6 games out of 30 odd since last Christmas at less than a point a game, it's relegation form. Sorry Chris I hoped you'd turn it round, you're a nice bloke, but you've go to go

Honestly I'd rather lose in the first round. Pointless competition.

Scrap it and remove all qualifying rounds for the FA Cup. That'd be hilarious

To infinity and beyond.

It's not the result that's annoyed me tonight, I fully expected to lose, it's just the manner. There was no spirit, no effort, no desire, just nothing. People payed upwards of 70 quid to go watch that. It's disgraceful

Touching to see Sir Bobby Charlton knocking on #NCFC changing room ten minutes after full-time to ask after Snoddy. Thankfully good news.

One of our media guys. Fair play to everyone at Utd, seems like luckily it's just a concussion for Snodgrass and not something more serious.

Dear me, if Hughton gets sacked, the left-wing equality brigade will go into meltdown.

Bet the broadcasters would love a United-Citeh, or Chelsea-Tottenham tie for the next round. Of course, that depends on City and Tottenham getting through.

Don't think Wenger will be too despondent at losing. Focus on the PL and the CL, and maintain the fragile depth his squad has without stretching it too far.

There's already an article from Mike Calvin telling Norwich fans to be careful what they wish for. Well I don't think it's much to ask for something better than what we've been dealt in 2013 so far.

Really Hughton was pretty lucky still to be here in the summer, barely won a game post Christmas, lost to a non-league side in the cup, managers have been sacked for far far worse.

If he goes and I see one tweet about equality etc from a journo I'll go batshit crazy

First chance I got on here to talk arsenal. Agree the comments about squads last night was ridiculous watching wlshere, Ramsey & cazorla etc. Its same old arsenal, too much football no end product against the TOP teams. Against the weak teams they can open them up n giroud can put the finish away from inside the box. Against quality you can't do that and need plan b. Arsenal without Walcott don't have it n become predictable.

I know its only league cup but it was the easiest cup to win for arsene. Also the signs are there for everyone to see - Dortmund - lose - Chelsea - lose. Not great to keep losing out to the heavyweight teams,  mentally or psychologically becomes an issue with the players in those moments before big games. Lose to Liverpool n things begin to unravel after a great start. I hope arsenal can perform at the weekend n don't let the bubble completely burst.

The thing is a squad challenging for the title should be able to compensate for having players out injured, we've done it for years with our injury prone defence.

Spurs win the shoot out against Hull City, 8 - 7.  Manchester City stutter to a 2 - 0 win at St James' although they did play with more authority after Silva came on.

Draw for QF's

Leicester  vs Man City
Stoke vs Man Utd
Southampton / Sunderland  vs Chelsea
Spurs  vs West Ham

like the look of Leicester vs Man City.  That should be a good old fashioned cup tie, although I'd expect City's 2nd XI to be too strong for the foxes.   United should get past Stoke comfortably enough.   Chelsea would be favourite to cruise past Sunderland but Southampton away could be trickier.   West Ham will be confident of being in with a chance, after beating Spurs 3 - 0 a few weeks ago.

Spurs-West Ham should be on TV - London derby after all.

The game last season was a cracker - 3-2, last minute winner from Bale outside the box, and...Joe Cole taking his shirt off.

Win win. Although no Bale this year.
