First topic message reminder :

Thought I'd pop one of these up...

Norwich currently beating Bury 3-0, Ravel Morrison gives Dolphin a boner with a goal on full debut

MK Dons currently leading Sunderland 2-0 meaning Sunderland players shall be starved tomorrow

Peterborough absolutely spanking a strong Reading side as well

Sturridge is really growing on me, was screaming at him to pass, but he did managed to sneak it in. I suppose you want your strikers to be selfish.

Also, Sterling as a right back has been horrendous. Obvious booking and nearly gave away a penalty, please move him Rodgers. Henderson will make a decent right back, pull Coutinho into the middle.

Scored when kicking the ball back to Birmingham in the last minute. Then they didn't allow Birmingham to run up the other end and score.

Well they did, but only when they were 3-2 up in ET.

Glad justice was done in the end.

Is that allowed these days?

I remember watching Premiership Years and Mick McCarthy and Ian Holloway both got finned for making 10/11 changes?

Not sure if the rules are different in this competition or not.

I don't think the rules are the same in the cup competitions at all.

Live 5 mins from Morecambe so considered getting tickets for the game against Newcastle but can't see it being a great game, particularly with the weakened Newcastle side.

A full strength Villa team are 1-0 up against Rotherham United.

Very risky move by Lambert, also Steve Evans sides have always been known to be "dirty sides"

Difficult to watch this from a Newcastle point of view, truly dire. Wonder if we will actually score and get our first goal of the season. At this rate, highly doubtful.

I quite fancy Newcastle to go down this season. I know a league cup game isn't always the best measure if a team but at the west ham game at the weekend it was the same old problems. We are going backwards.

Cruel for Morecambe that.

Can't believe Shola Ameobi is still at Newcastle, he has never really been Premier League standard.

Very harsh on Morecambe

Stoke 3-1 Walsall, Kenwane Jones hatrick, end of a potential upset there.

Newcastle basically won because of their better fitness, the longer the game went without Morecambe scoring the more likely Newcastle would go through, just didn't have the legs. Thought Newcastle were really poor and have a lot to worry about this year, need some serious investment before the end of the window.

Disagree. Fitness played no part in that at all. Playing 90 minutes is easy anyway, especially at tonight's pace.

Hmmm slighty disagree with you freak, as i feel Premiership players should be a bit more fitter considering there playing on bigger pitches, and playing at a higher intensity level.

Pitches aren't necessarily bigger, and the intensity in the Prem really isn't that great most of the time.

Stoke's pitch is one of the smallest I've seen

Morecambe's pitch size is 110 x 76

Newcastle's is 115 x 74.4

Not a massive difference and I'd suspect most lower league grounds are similar in size.

I've just never bought into this notion that poorer teams carry poorer conditioned footballers. It doesn't cost a penny to be an athlete.
