Last time for HEC final
Tickets go on sale to the general public from the 16th on Ticketmaster but apparently those who have previously gone to finals will be offered the chance to buy tickets from the 9th.
Has anyone on these boards had a link from Ticketmaster yet for this ?
Cheers

Not yet but I should get an email.
Over the last 10 years or so fans of Munster (initially), and latterly Leinster have piled in as soon as tickets have gone on sale.
Not knocking their optimism mind.
The HC final has become a great event, with various fans in attendance wearing their club shirts.

Agree about their optomism - Last 3 years I have been sat with Leinster fans.
Will be a shame if they can't agree a way forward - Was looking forward to seeing a final in Rome eventually.

Rome or Milan.
Barcelona would also have been good.
Bored with the trek along the M4 (or even worse the train) to Cardiff.

Its a nightmare journey LT (especially going home late after a skin full) I had a look at hotel prices for the one night - Surprisingly not much around and what is is very expensive.LondonTiger wrote:Rome or Milan.

It's great as an event. I even enjoyed Biarritz v Toulouse in Paris a couple of years back. Fuzzy memory of the weekend but great occasion.
Only silly things like a confirmation, a funeral and a wedding have stopped me getting to them (though thankfully not all at the same time!).
Will have to keep the eye out for the tickets going on sale.

Stade Francais v Perpignan at Murrayfield came close to putting me off forever.

Re: Last time for HEC final
Had my honeymoon in Rome. Absolutely beautiful city but it is eye-wateringly expensive. £5 - £6 for a pint and that is if you drink in one of the cheaper back ally bistros. I had a stein (2.5 pints?) in a restaurant and that was 21 euros! It is also the worst city to drive in (IMO) in europe... everysingle car is dinged to hell. Milan is not much better :o(LondonTiger wrote:Rome or Milan.

Re: Last time for HEC final
As a motorbike rider who's lived in Italy I've found the Italians are actually quite good at observing other road users around them (they're certainly less oblivious to motorcyclists than UK drivers), the problems are that they drive too fast and aggressively in cars that they don't seem to care too much about, roads in town can be incredibly narrow, they'll park in the most ridiculous spaces, and drink driving appears to be a sport.Irish Londoner wrote:Metal Tiger wrote:"To an Italian driver looking good is much more important that looking where you are going". Must have been bad when you forgot Toulouse were not only playing but actually won.LondonTiger wrote:Stade Francais v Perpignan at Murrayfield came close to putting me off forever.
Gareth Thomas became the 7th Welshman to get a HC medal.

Rome is the worst. And I have driven in Grece in the 80s. Italy is worse than Greece and Rome is so much worse than ther rest of Italy

Of course an honourable mention should go to Paris IMHO

Really dull kick fest, made worse by them having extra time.

Whatever happened to the idea of Italy playing in Florence? Would be much better than Rome or Milan I'd say.

Re: Last time for HEC final
I agree, Florence is probably my favourite city in Italy (not a fan of Milan at all, ugly, comparatively boring & soulless). Plus it's home to Calcio Storico. I suspect the move to Stadio Olimpico instead came down to it being in the capital, stadium capacity and growing the game down there.Mickado wrote:Whatever happened to the idea of Italy playing in Florence? Re: Last time for HEC final
I'm surprised nobody mentions Lille for the Hcup final. They have a brand new 50000 seater. 1h from London with Eurostar. And it's a really great northern city, splendid architecture, streetlife, unpretentious lifestyle, tons of mussels with fries, cheap booze, a growing rugby fan base, plenty of fun i tell you.

Agree that Desi - Stopped overnight there whilst on the way down to Paris for a match.desi wrote:I'm surprised nobody mentions Lille for the Hcup final. Got my tickets anyway - Looks good value for the seats I have got

Re: Last time for HEC final
You're probably right. I found the transport infrastructure to be better in the North, trains across all the major cities were frequent and very quick, the train from Rome to Bari on the other hand, was hell on earth.stlowe wrote:I agree, Florence is probably my favourite city in Italy (not a fan of Milan at all, ugly, comparatively boring & soulless).
