Haye/ Fury - 2 poll extravaganza!
Very simple poll that I asked about on the podcast last night.
Who do you want to win this fight and who do you think will win?
Lets get a poll going!

Gonna have to be a fluke of epic proportions for Fury to win this. Sometimes the sun shines on a dog's ar5e but I see this one going to form.
To keep with the dog theme, Haye has the proven HW pedigree despite what you think of him as a person. Fury is in too deep and hasn't shown anything to suggest he's ready for a fight of this magnitude.

I want Haye to win and I think he will win, inside 5. I just can't see Fury pulling this one off, that said I'be been wrong plenty of times before... but not this time, surely not.
I'd love Haye to flatten him in front of John Fury.

i take it the dot is couldn't care less who wins, which is what I went for, but knowing Haye by ko is the most likely outcome. I just hope it is more competative than Harrison or Chisora.

Chisora was competitive? Good couple of rounds followed by a good KO. Prefer that to most heavyweight match ups these days.bhb001 wrote:i take it the dot is couldn't care less who wins, which is what I went for, but knowing Haye by ko is the most likely outcome. Can you set the poll up so we can see how posters voted. Makes it more interesting, generates more posts etc.

Re: Haye/ Fury - 2 poll extravaganza!
I want Haye to win....but, for boxing's sake, I hope it goes a few rounds with Tyson making it competitive.
I say for boxing's sake, because if Tyson gets Ko'd very early and is never really in the fight, it will be very very anticlimactic and a huge contrast to the build up ( which hasn't even really started!!....think about the week before and the weigh in. Its going to be a show all by itself )
If the fight is pretty much one sided, it will send a message out that average talent, a really active gob and a big personality with some money and good PR thrown = big payday....and f**k the boxing.
Ali v Foreman didn't have a big build up and be one sided.
Sad thing is, Froch v Kessler 2 was really good, but loads more will watch this one...

I want Fury to win, have already seen Haye in with Wlad and saw nothing to suggest a repeat would be any different. Don’t think for a minute Fury would do any better but until we see it there is at least the you never know aspect. Also cannot get wildly excited about a heavyweight who fights with a regularity that makes Floyd look like Harry Greb.
However for all that believe this is reasonably routine for Haye unfortunately.

They will. Just to see this pathetic excuse of a human get wiped off the boxing scene.

Re: Haye/ Fury - 2 poll extravaganza!
Want Haye to win and think Haye will win. KO before 4th... in the 2nd is my bet. How long it takes Haye to KO Fury depends on how Fury boxes IMO. If he fights like he did against Johnson, might see a longer fight. If he wades in (an approach he has previous form in) then it might not even get to the 2nd.
Only uncertainty is, of course, around Haye's chin. He can, as we all know, be knocked out. But I don't see it. Put it this way, if they fought 10 times, I'd expect a Haye KO nine times, and a Fury KO once. And that, I think, is being generous to Tyson.

Chisora was much better than Harrison, I'll grant you. But with two (apparently) top tenners, I would want a little more. Hard to satisfy, that's me!!seanmichaels wrote:Chisora was competitive? Fury is too open to the overhand right to have much of a chance.

Never knocked out, ran out of gas and stopped on his feet still throwing punches. Still find it amazing that the ref never stepped in and saved Thompson even in those early rounds. There can't have been many more one sided batterings that went on as long without the ref waving it off.Qoxiivi wrote:Want Haye to win and think Haye will win. KO before 4th... in the 2nd is my bet. Yeah absolutely, he just paced himself badly and got tired giving Thompson an absolute spanking.
Having said that, he looked shakey against Mormeck, it wasn't just a slip.

No complaints about that KD, got clipped on top of the head and his senses got scrambled. He was trapped in the corner and went down to a punch. Those clipping shots do rob you of your senses and he's not the first to have that happen to him (Mayweather/Corley?) but I'm struggling to think of a time when Haye has been badly shaken with a genuine punch that wasn't on the break (Chisora) or when he was on one knee (Barrett).Scottrff wrote:Yeah absolutely, he just paced himself badly and got tired giving Thompson an absolute spanking.

You're suggesting Haye takes Fury's shot ??

Re: Haye/ Fury - 2 poll extravaganza!
Am I? Just read it back and I don't recall saying that at any stage. If Fury lands there's every possibility that Haye is in trouble (as would be the case for most HW being punched by other HW). However, what I HAVE said (and I'll say it again to just be perfectly clear for those in the cheap seats or those just not paying attention) is that, in my pinion, Haye is too smart/cagey to leave himself open to shots and, more importantly, I don't believe that Fury is good enough or smart to either create any openings or exploit any that Haye may leave.TRUSSMAN66 wrote:You're suggesting Haye takes Fury's shot ??

Not about over-rating Haye, it's just that Fury is rubbish and is unlikely to cause an upset despite your belief tha Haye will be intimidated by his sheer sizeTRUSSMAN66 wrote:okay already........

Dave: I know that. You do know what I mean though, I never said he had been knocked out; he just clearly doesn't have the most sturdy chin. Not as awful, I think, as some people make it out to be, but Fury (or any HW, I'd wager) has the power to take him out - it's just that no one's been able to catch him cleanly enough thus far... and I don't think Fury will be the first.

For someone who claims to know something about boxing (still up for debate it seems) you're letting your dislike of Haye cloud your opinion as to his actual boxing ability.

Bottled? I didn't see him jumping out of the ring, refusing to come out of his corner for the start of the fight or running around scared. pretty sure I saw him taking and throwing punches.
Thats an absolutely pathetic way of describing his performance. Although you are no stranger to hyperbole abuse.

Re: Haye/ Fury - 2 poll extravaganza!
To be brutally honest...no! Had he fought as recklessly against Wlad as he did against Barrett he'd have been KO'd within five rounds. The fact he didn't is down to the fact that whilst Wlad was too good for him haye was still too cagey (or gunshy... call it what you like) to allow Wlad to make good on his promise to knock him out.TRUSSMAN66 wrote:How can you say he is a better fighter now..........Audley didn't show up...........Chisora lost four in a row............and he bottled Wlad...DAVE667 wrote:Haye not convincing at Heavy is the same as sim not being a better fighter now than when he faced Monty Barrett...which I believe was my point.TRUSSMAN66 wrote:I don't dislike you and you're a classless punk...

Watch that. Now, if you'll believe Trussman, you'll see Haye throw nothing, not get hit, run for 12 rounds and not do anything because he "bottled" it. Now I'm not sure if we're lost in translation or something here Truss, but see how David Haye throws his fist towards Wlads face on occasion at the end of an outstretched arm? Thats called a punch. Do you understand that?
