Zero Dark Thirty - 8/10
For those of you who are unaware, this film is based on the decade long search for Osama Bin Laden following the terrorist attacks on 9/11 with the film leading up to his discovery in Pakistan and his eventual death. For a film that runs over 2 1/2 Hours, once you get past the first 30 Mins, it's actually a very informative, action thriller with very well put together cast, although you don't really feel any affection to invest into any of the characters....

Need for Speed - awesome cars and a fit british girl arent enought to make this more than a 5/10 for me.
felt like it was on for about 3 hours but that might have to do with the 45 minutes of commercials and trailers Cineworld had on

dont think i can watch class of 99 for a while, will become a blubbering reminiscence mess complaining of how we used to be good....so basically a Liverpool fan
in fact the only thing that cheered me up this weekend was imagining how Dave suffered at the hands of his 8 month pregnant united fan wife

I watched the terribly titled film "Killer Elite" on TV, last night. My gut feeling was that this was going to be a Seagal flick, but it turned out to star Statham, DeNiro and Clive Owen. I approached the film with very low expectations but ended up really enjoying it.

I give this movie 6.5 dubious Jason Statham accents out of 10.
I thought I was the only one!! I genuinely spend most of the films trying to work it out. Im like "yeah hes American, no wait a minute hes English, no American..." etc etc. The only films I dont have that problem with are Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrells, Snatch and Mean Machine.
Not alone mate! I watched it and was like "oh here's the crap american accent" and then J-Lo mentions he's english. He's doing it on purpose now!

It's very funny I admit...also liked,
Steve Gerrard, Gerrard
He kisses the badge on his chest
Then puts in a transfer request
Steve Gerrard, Gerrard
(How Stevie must have been crippled by those taunts as he slotted those two goals in at the weekend)
How about this I've just composed....
Wayne Rooney, Rooney
He hasn't scored in ages
What a f*****g waste of wages

If he scores a hat-trick on Wednesday then takes over in goal and saves a last minute penalty securing Utd's passage to the next round, then (and only then) I will consider the possibility that he's earned his money this week (not counting Sunday of course)

Léon - watched it again after having seen it about 18 years ago and, while I didn't think it was that good first time round, don't recall it being this bad. Jean Reno was just Arnold Schwarzenegger with two facial expressions instead of the one, the soundtrack almost turned it into a musical, the few comic moments were laboured and predictable, the directing was jumbled (I did see the 110-minute cut version), the dialogue was contrived and Luc Besson's obsession with upskirt/upshorts shots of Natalie Portman was creepy in a Jimmy Savile "come-sit-on-my-lap" sort of way. The worst part, though, was Gary Oldman. I didn't think that he was capable of a bad performance but he confused "deranged" with "sh1t" in his portrayal of Stansfield - it was so overblown it made John Travolta seem like the epitome of grit and understatement in Battlefield Earth.

That's ok. Maybe I should do a Richard and Judy and set up a film club whereby I suggest a film and you all go out and watch it. I'd probably start with Twister or The Day After Tomorrow. Safe starts quality wise

Really good but man is it depressing
great performances by swank, eastwood and freeman. even Jay Bucharel (spelling) is decent in it

Did Tino scream when you tortured him or did you kill him immediately so you could start the Cillit Bang experiment?

Watched a couple of films over the weekend. First was Wolf of Wall Street, enjoyed it but did feel a bit of a drag at 3 hours long. Di Caprio was very good, Jonah Hill was good too but really it's all about Margot Robbie, wow!
Also watched Anchorman 2. Thought it was awful, no real redeeming features in it at all.

The Grand Budapest Hotel - it's almost a Wes Anderson tribute to Wes Anderson so don't bother if you don't like Wes Anderson films. A 100-minute montage of clever pictures, clever editing and clever dialogue and a Who's Who? of a cast, lost a point for including Bill Murray but gained it back for not including him for very long. I did keep on falling asleep but this was due to me being knackered and not any fault of the film's, was really p1ssing me off that I couldn't enjoy it properly. Will watch it again.

ENDERS GAME
Earth was attacked by Aliens 50 years ago, and in the belief that they will come back trains kids to take over defending it. Ender is believed to be the one to save it.'
It is long with the training, only really gets going when he gets to command school. You really struggle to like any of the characters. The battle simulation to gain graduation has a twist and this and the scene afterwards is the only reason to watch it. It has a very strong political message running all the way through, the sentimentality ruins it. It's really not worth bothering with.

Captain America; Winter Soldier - its better than the first, not difficult like but I still feel it falls short of both ironman and thor franchises. the action scene were cool enough but I think when he isnt fighting Chris evans doesnt have the charisma or on screen presence of a downey jr or chris hemsworth making the slow parts seem pretty damn slow. But still a decent watch and I liked the story 7/10
The purge - so bad that I cant even constuctively criticise it. One of the worst movies ive ever seen

Watched the Lego Movie last night, and it was absolutely brilliant. Well it was until the ending got all preachy, and Real people appeared... But the first 80% was as good animation as I can remember... didn't need the 3D, though

Sorry, did you just say Chris Hemsworth and screen presence in the same sentence?Chris evans doesnt have the charisma or on screen presence of a downey jr or chris hemsworth
Anyway, my issue with Chris Evans in the role is that I keep asking myself why the Human Torch is dressed up as Captain America.

Re: The Last Film Watched Thread .................continued again
i think captain America meant to be bland like he is in te comics . when he played the torch , Chris Evens was a lot more fun and cocky . personally i see him more captain America then human torch . i just watched the film too and its ok . prob like it better if i watch it again . i think they mess up with falcon tho .

Captain America 2, bigger but not necessarily better than the original.
Also did anyone else think that the film wouldn't have missed the winter soldier at all? Yet that's the tag line.
Apparently gsp (of mma fame) is the 1st baddie encountered.

Man of Steel is on Sky Movies now, so I thought I'd give it another shot second time round. It's actually worse this time. Zod, the character and the actor, is just awful. This reboot for Superman just didn't work for me. What's the point in making Superman less cheesey if you're going to make the actions scenes boring, elongated and cheesey? Awful reboot.
