Watched 22 Jump Street. Not as funny as 21, but a few laughs nonetheless, particularly with the closing credits.

Mr Bounce wrote:Saw Chef last night. Nice little storyline and a bit different to the usual sort of films on offer. The cast is great with Jon Favreau in the lead role with appearances from Dustin Hoffman, Scarlett Johansson, John Leguizamo, Robert Downey Jr and the almost edible Sofia Vergara. Oliver Platt plays the restaurant critic that appears to be the cause of Favreau's meltdown which then goes viral on the internet.

Cue the appearance of a food truck, Leguizamo jumping on board and Favreau's young son using Twitter to market the whole thing as they drive back from Miami to California. It's a lovely feel good film which concentrates not only on the relationship between the chef and his son but also shows the food as well. There's some fun bits in it and a fair bit of foul language as you'd expect from kitchen workers. 8/10

This film WILL make you hungry whether you have eaten or not. We hadn't and were STARVING by the end. We then went for a curry.  devil

If they'd made the film the way Tarantino had written it, it would have been infinitely better

Watched 'Trouble With the Curve' last night. Clint Eastwood is a baseball scout who has lost his vision, his daughter (Amy Adams) tried to reconnect with him through his trip to watch the next big thing in high school baseball.

It's pretty good, some funny moments and moved at a good pace. Justin Timberlake is in it as well as another baseball scout and aspiring announcer and he acts well in it, he's certainly coming along.

When you say lost his vision do you mean eyesight or his ability to see possibilities/situations with a clarity that is superior to others?

Not that I care, Eastwood has descended into film-making that is little else but mawkish sentimentality and awareness of his own mortality. Don't blame him, he's 342 years old and earned the right to do whatever he likes. It's just that I have no interest in it.

How to Train Your Dragon 2

It was surprisingly alright. I usually take the opportunity to sleep for a couple of hours when I take the kids to the cinema but this one actually kept me awake for the most part. I haven't seen number 1 so I have no idea if this was better or worse but the animation was excellent and the characters had just enough about them to cater for young and old alike. Bit slow in the middle but the big set piece ending was rather good.

Two Guns is very, very poor. Galted is right. Watched 22 Jump Street, pretty much a rehash of the first, but they are smart enough to acknowledge that and play it for laughs. If you enjoyed the first you'll probably enjoy this one.

Under the Skin...I think Scarlett Johansenn is an alien who drives round Scotland picking up fellas in a transit van and enticing then back to this squat where they wade into a gloopy substance for God only knows what reason. She gets her kit off and whilst there are women in Hollywood with better bodies, I don't care, I think she's dead sexy.

Oh, by the way, the film is utter UTTER cack...I think, couldn't watch it all as for huge portions of the film absolutely nowt happens so I kept fwd-ing on my tablet to the bits where she got naked instead.

For films with women I fancy who also get naked, I'd like to include "Black Snake Moan" with Christina Ricci.

Also watched "Tangled", it's old but my daughter hasn't seen it and let's be honest it's makes a f*****g change from sitting through "Frozen" again

Watched a couple over the weekend.

The Internship.
Thought this was ok. Do like the Wilson/Vaughn duo.

Might be one of the few Vince Vaughn fans on here.
Although he plays pretty much the same kind of character, do find him funny.

Jack Reacher.
Was better than I thought.
Cruise is top draw, another good performance, decent film.

"VALHALLA RISING" if you like films where the main character is mute and not a lot happens for ages then the main character explodes into action and inflicts horrific injury on people, this film is for you.

SABOTAGE - Slight departure for Arnie as he plays a bit of a bad guy. He leads a team of undercover DEA agents who steal $10 million during a raid only to have it stolen from them. Murder and intrigue abound as we try to figure out whodunnit (it's pretty f**king obvious to be honest) but it's better than The Expendables which tries to shoehorn in as many cheesy one-liners and catchphrases as is humanly possible...still we do get Arnie reviving his famous "Get to da chopper!" line...but apart from that "Expendables sucks.

NEED FOR SPEED....dragging on for ages...waiting for Walter White to liven things up or for "Jesse" to at last call someone "B!TCH" May be getting confused as to what I'm watching

Outside of that it's neither "Fast and Furious" or "Smokey and the Bandit" Don't even get the big deal about high performance sports cars but strongly suspect Floyd Mayweather watches this film instead of porn.

LOCKE - Tom hardy plays a construction guy who walks off site hours before the biggest day of his career to be present at the birth of his child (but it's not his wife's). It's shot entirely in his car and there's only Hardy that's filmed. the other characters are all on the other end of the numerous phone conversations he has during the drive to the hospital.

He's torn between the job he's utterly dedicated to, the family he adores and a seemingly warped sense of duty he feels to this woman and child that stems from his own relationship with his father.

Excellent!!!!!!!

Guardians of the Galaxy in Imax 3D.

Absolutely effin brilliant for a comic book geek like me, and anyone that's going to see it make sure you wait until the end of the credits.

Also anyone that wants to learn more about some of the other characters, check out some of the older comics.

The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug

Poor.  I'm only watching them out of some misplaced sense of loyalty but they really are scraping the bottom of the barrel.  Each instalment makes you realise even more what a sh1t director Peter Jackson is.  For some reason he thought that it would be a good idea to crowbar Lego-(I wish I was played by someone who could act)-las and a love interest into the story.  Sad to say the rest of the film was just as sh1t, special effects can only get you so far.  One to avoid, unless you have some misplaced sense of loyalty or enjoy the contents of barrel bottoms.

4/10 - GSoE
