Bearing in mind the above - what I'd like to know for each team is:
1. How is the season likely to go?
2. What are the teams' strengths?
3. What are the teams' weaknesses?
4. What can be done to improve matters for each team?
Any jingoism, sledging or graceless kicking of anyone whilst they are up or down will see posts deleted.
Be gracious and be constructive.

Have you guys heard of Rippa Rugby? The NZRU provide a rippa rugby set to every primary school in NZ and an additional 400 secondary schools. If the SRU haven't already considered it, they should.
Can you imagine every primary school in Scotland teaching their kids rugby skills?

Tough one, but I'm going for (oldest to youngest):
RDW's fluff, pyramids, FES' Hackett tweeds, mug goo, then the Messiah.

Hey!
I think you'll find I have a finely honed 6 pack so there's no crevices for fluff to congregate.
Disclamer - the above post may contain some inaccuracies

Allegedly it was passed down from his great-great-great (etc) grandfather, FES The First, who supported King Oswald of Northumbria in his sacking of the Din Eidyn stronghold at Calton Hill in 638 AD.tigertattie wrote:does that make FES's jacket the oldest?

The fluff originates from the jacket - Bennett evolves from something living in the fluff - Bennett builds the pyramids - then has a cup of tea using tigertattie's mug, leaving behind the goo.tigertattie wrote:does that make FES's jacket the oldest?
therefore the order is jacket, fluff, Bennett, pyramids, goo. It also means you can use your mug to clone us another 14 Messiahs.

Hogg out for a few weeks so a risk for AI? Murchie out for 6 months, not too many Glasgow full-backs left, would you like to borrow Cuthbert?
But seriously, who gets the Scotland shirt then? Tonks, Taylor or Maitland?
As for Glasgow does that mean Maitland will play there for the next few games?

Yes, thankfully Maitland played about a third of the time at 15 for the Crusaders so I am not too concerned, although I suspect that Hogg's kicking out of hand may be better. Thankfully we still have good wing options to accompany Maitland - DTH, Seymour, Barry (who is having a purple patch) and also apparently Niko.Tramptastic wrote:http://www.glasgowwarriors.org/news/13/10/11/injury-blow-warriors-full-back-duo-are-ruled-out

Well done to the ladyboys of the east coast!
Big scalp for them - congratulations.
Nice to be facing Munster next on the back of that defeat for them. They looked eminently beatable in a way that they hadn't so far this season.

Right no need to worry folks. Glasgow can now focus solely on the Rabo. Edinburgh will fight the European battle. Divide & conquer

Re: Glasgow and Edinburgh: Ongoing Banter Thread
What are people's thoughts on what Edinburgh's performance for Saturday means for the future? Was this a genuine sign of Solomon's coaching and tactics starting to come good, or was this a classic example of a Scottish team pulling off a shock when when no one expected them to?
I really hope it is the former, but I suspect it is somewhere in the middle. We were very good in places on Saturday, but I think we were helped a lot by Munster also being so bad in places! I'm still not convinced by our defence and I can't help but think we've become very reliant on Laidlaw.
Still, the pack stood toe to toe with Munster and even edged it in the set piece - that is definitely something to build on. The backs were still a bit blunt but Matt Scott's try was a wonderful team effort.
Of course we won't know until the next game, but I really hope this just wasn't a one off. The real test will be the Treviso game at home, which is only 5 days after the Perignan game meaning a lot of the first team will probably be rested. If we can manage to win that then it really could set us up to start winning more regularly than one game in five.

I see it as encouraging signs. to me the main issue has been morale and playing as a team. the win must be good for morale - they now know they can beat anyone. Tehy also found cohesion as a team.
I am hopeful its the beggining of something good.

Also worth noting that we’re still only one game away from being a bunch of losers again – we’ve gone from zeroes to heroes in a week, can easily go the other way within a week!

The biggest thing is deffo going to be the confidence this gives the team! Having faith in your team mates ability is just as important has having faith in your own!
I'm not going to do a John Beattie or Andy Nicol and proclaim that Edinburgh are going to top thier group, but I will say that this should hopefully lift the team to at least perform better going forward!
Talking about Nicol, what was that wee buffoon on about yesterday??? He was spouting that the formula to winning in Europe was to win your home games. If everyone won thier home games then everyone would be topping the table???? Eejit!!!

What’s the grauniad?
Was looking to see if ITV were running their highlights show then realised there was no point, ITV being the worst sports broadcaster in the history of humanity and all. The chances of the Edinburgh game being on it were slim – this was the broadcaster who, after Edinburgh’s 48-47 highly dramatic win over Racing Metro, just said ‘it was an exciting game’ and showed no highlights!

Re: Glasgow and Edinburgh: Ongoing Banter Thread
I am really not particularly fashed by Scottish commentators in general. Cotter is very knowledgeable and measured but it sounds as though he is holding his nose and talking through a toilet roll tube.
Andy Nichol is becoming a bit like Scotland's version of Guscott - only vaguely aware that other teams and nations exist. I like that he gets really peed off and assumes the look of a drowned ferret when Scotland play badly.
Scott Hastings is actually quite good fun to listen to but you get the sense that the players' own stories aren't of much interest to him.
God bless Bill McLaren and his multicoloured self-made gant charts that he used to commentate with. Loved hearing about each players' rugby histories and that of their families.
