Bearing in mind the above - what I'd like to know for each team is:
1. How is the season likely to go?
2. What are the teams' strengths?
3. What are the teams' weaknesses?
4. What can be done to improve matters for each team?
Any jingoism, sledging or graceless kicking of anyone whilst they are up or down will see posts deleted.

there isn't any is there? Its all about slagging the weegies even if I have divided loyalties having grown up in glasgow, wanting to support a team that wins but being an edinburgh resident now and supporting edinburgh. Still - the weegies did well at the weekend but that is obviously 'cos I went to scotstountigertattie wrote:I've lost the logic behind this thread!

Was there a V2 meet up at Scotsoun? Must be weird seeing what everyone looks like – my GF still think V2 is full of dodgy old men trying to groom me to meet up with them…probably not far from the truth in some cases!

No, hand on heart, a win for Exe would have given them a tidy grip on the pool, with the Warriors left free to concentrate on the league - that would have been my ideal!RDW_Scotland wrote:

Re: Glasgow and Edinburgh: Ongoing Banter Thread
To reiterate a point I made on another thread.
At the Glasgow / Exeter game the Exeter fans had drums and a variety of chants and sounded like there was more of them then there was. All the glasgow fans had to offer was "Glaaaaaaaaaasgoooooooooooow" repeated which sounded like a sick cow. You could almost feel the embarrasmen t of the crowd that they had nothing better to sing / chant
Glasgow ( and Edinburgh) need some songs / chants and something for the crowd to get behind. Glasgow in particular is famous for the "patter" and wit - the fans need something to sing and chant. Come on guys - you must be able to start something and get some drums or instruments into the ground and get some chants going to bring the crowd alive.
This is where ther lack of history seems to show to me. Get it sorted - give us something to chant shout sing and roar.

Re: Glasgow and Edinburgh: Ongoing Banter Thread
we had this debate over the lack of chants available for Scotland.
All I could come up with was "Gie it laldy" to the tune of crazy horses!
Maybe we should make "you cannae shove yer granny aff the bus" a rugby song!

Re: Glasgow and Edinburgh: Ongoing Banter Thread
I remember a while ago the Edinburgh stadium announcer (the one before Graeme Easton, the older guy that sounded like a Scottish Alan Carr) tried to suggest a chant, but he completely messed up the rhythm of it and it just sounded ridiculous. It never took off because he messed it up, which is a shame because it could have been quite good!
How about for Glasgow, to the chorus from Biffy Clyro’s Mountains;
I am a weegeeeeeeee
I am from weeeeege
You can’t take that away from me
I am a wegeeeeeeee
I am from weeeeeege
If you do I will staaab yooooou
I reckon that will catch on.

Good to see that Big Naka eventually got some game time after the recent Fijian internationals - he put in a big shift and scored a good try for the Hawks: Glasgow Hawks 24 Edinburgh Accies 8
Perhaps slightly better than Grayson Hart's yellow card for what was apparently a bit of a girly shove in the fizzog of an opposing player.

Anyone else worried that Glasgow and Edinburgh (other than Connacht) have the lowest 'points for totals' in the rabo. Glasgow although third in table are about 30 points under the league average for point for and have scored less than half that of the ospreys........ops, almost forgot

I think it is a concern. Both backlines at Glasgow and Edinburgh are having poor seasons so far with ball in hand. Glasgow seem overly reliant on Matawalu to spark things and Edinburgh are horribly reliant on a fully fit Matt Scott at 12....
In Glasgow's case I'm confident they'll come good, particularly once Dunbar and Hogg return. There's work to be done with the Edinburgh backs, but it's still early days under the new regime.

fES the person we are missing most is Peter Horne - terrific i/c with quick hands (and feet). He is the common denominator for our try fest last season. Crocked due to monumental stupidity by the Scotland medical team in SA - when Dr James Robson was at the BL wenkfest in Aus.

For us FES, we need a 10 that can run a game! Leonard is just not cutting it! I dont know if giving him more time will do the job or not.
For Glasgow, Shlong at 12 won't pass the ball. Baby Bennett at 13 can't pass the ball.
Edinburgh badly need a 10. Two first names aint the answer! I've already said Edinburgh need Heathcote to come up to us.
Glasgow need Horne and Dunbar to come back
