Bearing in mind the above - what I'd like to know for each team is:
1. How is the season likely to go?
2. What are the teams' strengths?
3. What are the teams' weaknesses?
4. What can be done to improve matters for each team?
Any jingoism, sledging or graceless kicking of anyone whilst they are up or down will see posts deleted.
Be gracious and be constructive.

True, not one of MacArthur's either mind. One of the bigger disappointments in the AIs was seeing that MacArthur can't handle pressure either, although he's so small and underpowered he did manage to crawl under a few tackle.AsLongAsBut100ofUs wrote:Its not one of Fordy's darts tho, cos the cat isn't having to leap sidewaysfunnyExiledScot wrote:That even looks like Kellock trying to catch a lineout!!

while I normally exude confidence in all things Warriors, I too have a distinctly bad feeling about playing the MFLs. While they are undoubtedly playing better, we are off the pace a good bit this season and tbh have been fortunate to get the wins we have at times. So have booked the SRU bus to M'field with a degree of optimism on Boxing Day but am somewhat apprehensive re the Ne'erday game at home. As we both know the answer to our creative woes is Peter (Hornee furra Linee) Horne. Who, due to the idiocy of the SRU medical people in SA, will not play again this season.
Tonight is a biggy for us and we have to play for 80 mins baws oot !

There is a very fine line between playing a high-tempo, fast off-loading game and running about like headless chickens. You could say that Niko lives on that line, and Big Leone looks as if he likes to dally there too. As a team the Warriors seem to have drifted over the line, as it were. With Toonie as coach are we surprised?
The Festive Frolics may not be as much fun as we from the west coast would like to imagine.

Aye Jimbo my son - we could be in for a long miserable winter. Big Naka waving the ball around like a flag in one hand is all very well but....... he can't half move for a big fella right enough He could cause The MFLs some problems at 8 tbh

And where's the need? Now, just to be clear, I would never stoop to refer to any Edinburgh fan as a weak chinned, Pimms-quaffing, Fortnum-worshipping, effeminate, quasi-hermaphrodite, mummy's boy, Hackett-sporting keeper of a domestic household elf army.
But if I ever did want to lower myself to that, I could just do it on this thread.

Fooking weegie , will we ever see them in a HC quarter final? I didn't see the match but now very glad not to. There's something incredibly wrong if that team on the field was not clicking.

To paraphrase "Glasgow are fast becoming the UKIP of rugby - leave Europe at the first opportunity"

Desperately need Glasgow to find their mojo again and stay in the hunt for the rabbo so Scottish rugby has something to cheer about.

Just before any soap dodging, buckfast drinking, nasal twang speaking, old firm loving, sectarian, "oh no, don't close our shipyard", castle-less, knife wielding, commonwealth games tourist mugging, mars bar frying weegies say anything, Edinburgh will purposely lose the 1872 just to help the west coast achieve something in rugby

I really can't help but think the 1872 this year is going to be yet another turgid affair. Last years Murrayfield leg was a particularly awful game.

For the sake of balance:
1. Glasgow joke
A Glasgow woman is at the dentist to have a check up.
She gets into the chair. "Comfy?" asks the dentist.
She replies "Govan, whit aboot yersel?"
2. Edinburgh joke
Q. What is a creche?
A. A collision between two Range Rovers on Morningside Road.

The Scotstoun game was far from a classic too. 2 teams playing badly- jeez can't wait. Booked the bus through from Waxy's on Boxing Day too. Will the pubs be open RD ? These recent results, plus the AI really does seem to show where we are in rugby terms - and fighting it out with Italy again seem inevitable

What's Glasgow's lead up to the boxing day clash?
We've got Gloucester away on Sunday, Leinster at home 5 days later on the Friday then it's the boxing day game. That's 3 games in the space of 11 days - it is going to be interesting what Solomons does with selections.
He's said he might rest key players away to Gloucester, suggesting he's given up on the HK and will concentrate on finishing high up in the league, which is fair enough.

re: the Edinburgh trams. They have actually finished working on them. All roadworks are finished. The trams are running on the lines.
We just can't use them yet as that would mean starting them running ahead of (the revised) schedule and we cannot have things finishing on time in Scotland now can we!

I don't think we'll be whitewashed. We are still a better side than Italy, and there's no pack in the 6 Nations who can dominate us in the same way as South Africa, so we should be competitive in each of the games in my view (as long as we don't pick a silly pack as we did last year against England).
At least that's what I'm telling myself, having just shelled out for tickets to the Ireland game in Dublin......

I honestly believe that with the right team, by which I mean:
1. Grant
2. Hall
3. Murray/Low
4. Swinson
5. Gray
6. Brown
7. Barclay
8. Beattie/Denton
9. Laidlaw
10. Whoever Has Made Fewest Fatal Mistakes The Previous Month
11. Visser
12. Scott
13. Dunbar
14. Maitland
15. Hogg
then we will take down England at Murrayfield in the second game - especially if England's first game in France is a loss or a scraped win.
FES - tell me about it. I just shelled out £500 each for two Rolling Stones tickets for Abu Dhabi in February.
And that's making a massive assumption that Christmas doesn't kill Keith Richards before then.

I'm still going for us to come 4th in the next 6n's
We really do need a non brain-farting 10 though! And for Brown to be played in the correct position. And for an openside to be selected.
Actually, Scott Johnson is still picking the team. we're fecked then eh! Show us the spoon!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone know if MacVisser will be up and running again in time for the 6n's?

Tustle between Lee Jones, Jack Cuthbert & Max Evans for the vacant wing spot then ? Actually it's quite obvious which ones of those would win that particular battle, which just goes to show how terrible Edinburgh's wing choices really are!
Actually with Hogg back and playing properly (hopefully) you've got Maitland. Either that or recall HUGOOOOOO

These recent results, plus the AI really does seem to show where we are in rugby terms - and fighting it out with Italy again seem inevitable
Depressed....
We need more posts like this. Not a chance in hell and we might just win something. If we don't, we won't be disappointed anyway.
5 losses from 5. Remember we have Italy away and Rome seems to have some black magic effect on us that makes us play sh***(r than usual)

Nope - Tonks at 15 and Seymour at 11 will avoid any of those horror shows.

I'm really sorry about this folks, but I'm going to the Italy game and in all the games bar one (Ireland at croker) that I've gone away for, we've lost. I fear this streak may continue.

That would seem like the sensible approach I suppose.
