Two pleas for help - and neither involve cash.
Hello good people of the v2 forum.
I come to you to ask for two lots of help, neither of which involve you reaching for your wallets, and neither of which are directly for me.
The first is for a 4 year old boy who is local to where I live and was born in the same hospital as my youngest daughter. His name is Charlie and he has quadriplegic cerebral palsy. he has recently had surgery over in the states to help to enable him to walk, and his family are trying to raise £60,000 to assist with his rehabilitation.
He is currently entered in a competition, in which the winner receives £5,000, which will make a nice dent into the required amount. All you have to do to vote for him is follow this link....
http://votecharlie.co.uk/
... and then click on the 'click to vote button'. This will take you through the voting process. All you need is a valid e-mail address to be able to register a vote. At present it appears to be a two horse race for the prize between Charlie and a dog rescue centre in Afghanistan. Voting closes on 30th September and I, and Charlie's family would be very grateful to anyone and everyone who is able to register a vote for him. For those on Facebook, there is more information about him here... https://www.facebook.com/Charliegraingerfundraiser?directed_target_id=0

Now, some of you may remember this plea I made just over a year ago on here.... https://www.606v2.com/t33790-a-plea-for-help-well-internet-votes-really.
Well your votes helped her to win, and she did indeed write her article about female autism. Since then, she has made a no budget short film on the subject, and has written a book on it. She is now raising a petition to ask the government to make some changes regarding how females with autism are diagnosed. In order to get the government to listen, she needs to secure 100,000 signatures in the next 12 months. it is a subject that she is passionate about and one that is still not very well understood by many (including healthcare professionals) in this country. If you could sign the e-petition it would be of great help to her... http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/55002
Thanks you for taking the time to read these pleas for your assistance. if you can help with either one, or both I will be eternally grateful. If you can share with your friends and enlist their help as well, that would be even better.
Thanks again folks.

I've done the first one, would you take offence if I researched the context and science behind the second before I sign it?

Absolutely not CJ. You feel free to do whatever you wish my friend. There is no pressure here for anyone to support either of these causes.
Thank you for your support on the first one though, and thank you to everyone who has support either of these.

Done with pleasure (of sorts). My wee girl has autism and as much research needs to be done into this and similar conditions as possible
