Good news if there is still a HC to play in.It would be a fantastic venue for such a big game.

Great news....!
About time Italy got a final. With the rate Treviso and Zebre improving it won't be long until one of them makes a final.

Gives them another year of development to give them a chance. It's good to read so many posters not writing off Treviso as a non entity, rather a team that like all others are tricky to play at their home...
The city itself is rugby mad and very much part of the euro rugby city's to visit.

Great news. Should have happened years ago. 20 years for all the competing nations to have hosted the final is a poor effort.

Presume it had to go to a pro 12 nation since it's unknown if the ap or top14 sides will be in it.
Great stadium though and will make for a great rugby weekend

No comments on the cynical nature of giving the final to Italy and then saying "Are you really going to take it away from them?"? Should have happened a long time ago.

Wasn't it decided about a year ago that the Italians were getting it? Only announcing now that it is in the San Sero.

That would be sad if that was all the ERC could think of... What's next? The ERC to send pictures of LNR and PRL bosses smashing kittens?HammerofThunor wrote:No comments on the cynical nature of giving the final to Italy and then saying "Are you really going to take it away from them?"? True, but it was after the notice was givenSin é wrote:Wasn't it decided about a year ago that the Italians were getting it? Only announcing now that it is in the San Sero.

But, obviously what I said was made up supposition. I'm sure the decision was made for all the right reasons.

At last. Just 7 more times after that before it catches up with Cardiff.

Out of interest what happens with the Rabo final? Does it get rotated or does it just go with the draw/home advantage?

Home advantage provided the ground holds 15,000 otherwise it goes to a designated ground in the home country.
Why Ulster played at home in the RDS against Leinster, during reconstruction of Ravenhill, at the time Ravenhill wasn't big enough.

Well, I suppose England & France had ruled themselves out, so that gave Italy a better chance for the Rabo Unions to support an Italian final.HammerofThunor wrote:True, but it was after the notice was givenSin é wrote:Wasn't it decided about a year ago that the Italians were getting it? If they had any balls the next ERC cup final should be somewhere new again like the Nou Camp. Really try and spread rugby around a bit.

Some English town is staging 'cause the final is gonna be between two Great European French sides that haven't yet wot never won a HEC - Clermont and Stade Francais.rodders wrote:Who's staging the Champions cup final?
You heard it here first.... the Best sides that were never good enough will fight it out in a classic "Amlin Class" competition at the end of the year. I drool already.

Seems like a futile gesture by the ERC to me.

Are you really as bitter as you sound, or am I missing some past humour?SecretFly wrote:Some English town is staging 'cause the final is gonna be between two Great European French sides that haven't yet wot never won a HEC - Clermont and Stade Francais.rodders wrote:Who's staging the Champions cup final?

'Bitter' is one word that doesn't really suit me (certainly not as much as it does some of the wildlife on this savanna)
But yes, humour is a very personal thing... you either laugh or you don't. So I understand if you find me 'bitter'... I prefer to call it a blend of satiric, acerbic, probing, ironic ...deathy serious yet self-effacingly humourous all-in-one sandwich. Why be one thing when we can be a selection of many things?
