Yep. Rugby will have a new force now as these two so far unfamiliar islands will combine to provide a rugby super-force likely to be ranked #1 in the world and serious challengers for RWC2015.

Thank goodness for that because if anyone had twigged they'd been playing New Munster and New Ulster all these years this board would've gone crazy.

I feel that north and south island is a bit less of a mouthful.

Shame it wasn't New Leinster really, or a certain article would've had more of a truthful ring to it.

Cant wait to see them in action

According to the report most people will continue to call them that anyway. I guess it's nice to have a choice though.

I think you'll find it was Launceston who tried to trade mark the term "All Blacks" until the NZRU rightly intervened.
