Maloney retires
So Frank Maloney has fallen out of love for the sport of boxing and after his 'star' fighter David Price having back to back losses to TT during which he had a massive health scare he has retired from the sport.
Where does this leave David Price who was recently on Ringside talking about coming back before the end if the year?
Also what are peoples thought on Frank Maloneys achievements in boxing?

Warren takes over with Price.
He now has Paul Smith, Derry Mathews and Price(?) so a supposed "MASSIVE" show in the Echo arena, Liverpool???

Re: Maloney retires
Oh, Maloney's claim to fame is the Union Jack suit and managing Lennox Lewis for a bit. Apart from that, he has managed a few decent fighter but nothing to shout from the rooftops about and he liked to sit at the corner of a ring during a fight.
Apart from that I couldn't give a fiddlers about the fella

If you keep believing nonsense like that mate and you will be stuck with the same old tired 2 parties playing the same self serving games while ignoring the opinions of the general public forever, i suggest you have a proper look at their policies before you take a few left wing smears as a true description of UKIP.Strongback wrote:They want national cultural unity and to send Johnny Foreigner home. I don't live in the UK so I don't have a vested interest. Outside the UK the UKIP are seen as extremely right wing. They are also portrayed as having few policies other than issues of sovereignty.
I thought the right wing would be quite happy with Osbourne now he is passing draconian legislation that will keep Tory supporters in pocket money for the next decade.

Re: Maloney retires
UKIP are just an anti-European party with no other policies...........Basically a one trick pony.........If Cameron could bring forward a referendum to 2014.........It would kill UKIP dead...........
He can't because It would be seen to be a lurch to the right.........He needs ordinary working class votes.........and because the Westminster Liberals won't play ball and he needs Liberal votes to pass anything.......He also needs to appease the left wing of his party..
Whilst they aren't a skinhead party.........They basically are full of nuts who don't live in the real world.......Duty281 being a point in kind.

I saw Nigel Farage at a pub in Mayfair the other day. He is much bigger than he looks on the TV. He had a black chap with him.
True story. Not very interesting, but thought I would share it anyway.

I thought there was a good deal of irony on the One Show the other day when Alex Salmond celebratedly brought the Commonwealth Flame in to the studio.
Trouble with the lesser nations of the UK is that they can't decide whether they want to be with us or against us. Hope the Scots do get independence with the caveat that they pay for their own stuff such as University tuition fees and Health service.

Perhaps but at the moment we have the threat of a Labour govt........Which If the SNp win we won't have.........So there'd be nothing to kerb a future Tory government's extremities

I think the Sutherland episode effected Frank deeply. Plus there are just too many sly individuals in boxing no wonder he suffered bad health. Only naturally sly people survive in boxing DK and FW perfect examples.
All the best to Maloney hope he can enjoy retirement at the end of the day he had the H/W champion which is the tops for any promoter.

I could think of nothing better, England being governed by the party the majority of the English electorate votes for, what a novel idea.TRUSSMAN66 wrote:Scotland may be lesser but it's hugely important to Westminster..

I don't like bringing Darren up in relation to Maloney as Darren should be remembered as the genuine happy likeable guy that he was. Maloney casts a very black shadow were Darren was a ray of light that was loved by a nation.

Re: Maloney retires
We dont really know the full story on that so seems a bit unfair to lay alleged and unsubstantiated blame at Maloney's door.

I don't know if you are referring to mine or Dee's post but I have not blamed anyone. There is a dark shadow over what happened and that is cast by Maloney. He has also been very inappropriate in some of his comments since the death particularly towards the Sunderland family.

"Officers recovered one note, a "to do list", which mentioned paying back £75,000 (€90,000) plus Vat, and another note written to Mr Sutherland by his friend and adviser Declan Brennan, saying "Frank will destroy you in the media". "

Re: Maloney retires
You might want to check the figures on that one. I don't think the Tories would have achieved 50% of the vote in England since the 50's. Even then they wouldn't have been far ahead of Labour.hogey wrote:I could think of nothing better, England being governed by the party the majority of the English electorate votes for, what a novel idea.TRUSSMAN66 wrote:Scotland may be lesser but it's hugely important to Westminster..

Funny thing is I live in a conservative area.......Where they tend to weigh the votes......Never seena Labour or Lib canvasser........It's always fun when a tory who is running for local office bangs on with that smug self satisfied grin and I answer.......
Tend to grill him for about ten minutes before telling him I'm voting Labour......

Don't get me wrong there are policies the Tory party have that appeal......I'm fiscally to the right but socially to the left......If you can understand that.......wheelchair1991 wrote:I told a tory canvasser I was voting for them just so they gave me a lift to the polling stationTRUSSMAN66 wrote:Funny thing is I live in a conservative area.......Where they tend to weigh the votes......Never seena Labour or Lib canvasser........It's always fun when a tory who is running for local office bangs on with that smug self satisfied grin and I answer.......

I'm not a socialist.......
I believe in good healthcare for all and that every kid regardless of background gets a decent education and a chance in life......
Think there is more chance of that in a Labour government.......
