Re: Quins Vrs Scarlets
Quins look a bit clueless in attack, they're also throwing it wide too early.

Re: Quins Vrs Scarlets
We've got nobody in close to take it forward tbh, unless Easter, Ugo or Mike come in for the crash. Mo is off, JTH injured and off form, Casson injured and off form, Botica a 10 at 12, Nev old and lost his pace, Danny is at 9 and needs space to snipe, Robshaw carries but is not a power-carrier, no big locks, lost JJ to Sarries, no Lowe. I'd like to see them use their footwork more thoughThe Saint wrote:Quins look a bit clueless in attack, they're also throwing it wide too early.

You are right 606, we have all our fly-halves playing well! We were struggling for one just last season.
Danny Wilson has a future with the Wales team. Done wonders with the U20's forwards and has improved the Scarlets forwards a lot since coming in.

Re: Quins Vrs Scarlets
Big fan of Wilson, he seems to have been learning the Gatland method of forward play and it's given the U20s a huge advantage - he also seems to be able to adapt his gameplan to suit the opposition really well. The Saint wrote:You are right 606, we have all our fly-halves playing well! Who should start in the autumn? Preistland or Biggar
Jonathan Davies is covering the whole pitch at the moment

A proper winger would have scored then.

Very good clearance kick from Williams,
the Scarlets 9-10 axis is firing, and that is what makes them dangerous

Inattentive there by the Scarlets. Their attack looks razor-edged at times yet sadly as per usual the defence is cancelling out that advantage.

Re: Quins Vrs Scarlets
Was it not Evans who kicked the ball there? Surely it was more a case of the Scarlets shouldn't of let it bounce? Come on guys, at least give them a little credit.

Well taken by Brown. Nice little flick from Easter too.
Part of the reason for kicking like that is to get the chance of a 'lucky' bounce.

Re: Quins Vrs Scarlets
This is bad news though. It means Gatland might select a Williams/Davies midfield for Wales if Doc Roberts is out... And this is like their first good game together. The opposition do seem a little lightweight in comparison too, or would I be incorrect there?

Re: Quins Vrs Scarlets
good half to watch, a bit loose and lots of errors but great attacking play!
Scarlets backline starting to click a bit more now?
Scott Williams is a frustrating player though, he can do something like that but quite often he does that rather than look outside!

Re: Quins Vrs Scarlets
Well, Botica is a 10 and our 3rd choice 12 and Hopper is our 2nd choice 13 and loves to leave the line and thus massive gaps. Both are lightweight, so yeahThe Saint wrote:This is bad news though. Whereas Williams has maybe not been in this game especially when compared to his team-mate, Williams.

Tis good to see Scott Williams and Ashley Beck establishing themselves in centre contention in Roberts' absence and, maybe in the longer run, Cory Allen and Jack Dixon.

Re: Quins Vrs Scarlets
I remember a Welsh team, having a Jones in every area of the pitch. They had Duncan at 1, Adam at 3, Alun Wyn at 4, Ryan at 8, Stephen at 10 and Mark at 14.

Re: Quins Vrs Scarlets
Anyway, I think that was a quality piece of centre play by Scott Williams, yes you can slate the defending, but I hadn't realised he has that turn of pace.
What does Liam Williams call himself? The defuser or something???

And that incident could decide the match... Ideally, they would have had 15 men on the pitch with Adriaanse and G.Davies coming on to make an impact.

right is that just me who thinks that card was a bit harsh? no intention was just trying to get his foot on the ball and caught the face. would have thought a penalty and a warning would have been sufficient

FFS, already a stupid kick from a good position. Scarlets NEED to learn to hold their composure, being a man down is not the conclusive factor of all games.

Taking Barclay off?!
I guess Turnball is the only one who can play 8, so he stays despite being the clear weak link
