The Ospreys could do with a decent scrum half, could he be on his way back?

His salary expectations may be too high for the welsh provinces.
I wouldn't mind him at WP... we need a good scrumhalf and his game would suit the stormers. Coetzee has said its a priority for him to secure a SH. Wonder if he would fancy rubbing shoulders with boere though?
I myself wouldn't see it as a bad thing for Wales or Phillips. He needs a new lease of life... what better then in the hotbed of SA rugby?

they mentioned this wasn't the first time and he's been let off before... probably the final straw.

Agreed, fa. If, as he says, Afflelou used his influence to keep Phillips at Bayonne in the summer against the rest of the club's wishes, then he's bound to feel let down and betrayed by this. Afflelou vouched for Phillips.

Needs a clean slate, I'll get on the phone to Coetzee! I wonder if he minds getting paid in mieliepap & boerewors and listening to bok van blerk and kurt darren (standard South African warm up music)???

I heard that Gatland was going to sit down and have a word with him.
The right outcome in my view is for him to return to one of the Welsh regions, accept that his salary will be less as a result of his alcohol problems, and stay under the close eye of Gatland for the remaining few years of the career.

Just read a bit of the story, well the head lines only to be honest. Mike Phillips is to take legal action against his club.
Does he truly have a chance of winning? Or is this a last chance, last throw of the dice?
Do you think that the Welsh regions will take him on? or will it be retirement for Phillips,( If he looses?)

Who knows the truth behind this? It may be that the drink is just an excuse to get rid of him. Bayonne probably want a scrum half who gets the ball out quickly and passes well rather than a third flanker.
