Agree that the fight now means nothing, but in 09 it would of cemented the legacy of one of them, probably Mayweather. Sadly, they both ducked each other, neither man really fancied it.

Mayweather is destined to finish top 10........Shame his legacy won't be cemented.

Manny has been brilliant for the sport and was never really in a dull fight if memory serves.

fast accurate power puncher, a brawler type, always exciting.

However, in his recent say 3 fights against JMM 3/4 and Bradley, he never really looked great and has been in decline maybe.

JMM, for me, won the third by a few rounds at least. Bradley out worked him late on to steal rounds and JMM did the job knocking him down in the third then cold in the 6th to prevent any further robberies.

Rios, all be it a crapish fighter, has a chin of granite and a bit of power as well.

If Manny don't get him out early, then Rios could take over with constant pressure from say round 6 onwards.

Can Manny cope? Will see.

If im honest, i don't think his career is at an end just yet, i think he may demolish Rios early.

He will then have a sign off fight against Floyd at some point, will lose convincingly, and go out on a huge payday with his respect in tact.

Who cares really. Pacquiao is past his best. If he can't beat Rios he needs to hang up his gloves.

Mayweather is not removed from suspecion. He's getting better when most athletes are dramatically feeling the effects of aging.

That's not quite how I saw it. Hatton dropped his right hand before throwing a punch - think it was Hatton's own left hook but my memory is a trifle hazy. Pacquiao had been trained by Roach to land the left over the dropped right hand whenever Hatton gave him the opening. Hatton walked onto big punches. That, in my view, is very different from someone like Tyson walking a man backwards with detonating shots - Manny hasn't done that at the higher weights.

Well we can see it differently........A quality chinned Hatton completely destroyed in the first and knocked down twice and then hammered unconscious in the second.......

Apparently Pacquiao has been knocking out light heavys in sparring. Every report I have heard about Pacquiao's camps seems to imply he is training with Froch-like determination. Pacquiao to beat Rios by slaughter in less than six, is the smart money.

Your argument seems to be centred around the fact Manny hits harder as he gets bigger, just pointing out Mayweather KO'd the same guy which would suggest for someone who isn't known as a hard puncher that he has also increased his power as he has got bigger.

1) The guy turned pro at 16. Is it really that strange that his power increased from when he was a 112 pounder?

2) He has since then grown eight inches. Is it then far fetched to reason he has carried the weight better because of this? If a person starts fighting at 4'11, and ends up at 5'7, you have to be a little simple to think he's best weight should stay the one he was in when he was 4'11.

3) Hasn't had a proper KO, in years now. Dropped Marquez three times at featherweight, once in eighteen rounds at WW.

In closing, I dont buy the myth that he carried his power with him (at least not all of it). and even if he did, Is it far fetched to suggest a 5'7 man with the same body mechanics hits harder than the 4'11 teenager?

Mosely showed what real power is when he battered Marg into the floor. Manny used him as a punch bag for 12 rounds and didn't come close to dropping him.

He doesn't have huge power. He is a sharp and fast puncher.

He dropped Mosley and had him shook big time.

Duran had awesome power at 135..........He started as a little boy at 118.........

He didn't have any concussive power at 154 or 160...........As poor old Davey found..

As knock out percentages go, Mayweather is only slightly behind Manny overall, and at LWW and above is probably better.
