And I listened, had Chelsea to win 1-0,2-0 or 2-1 doubled with West Ham 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1. Think I picked up £24 from £2 on that.Fernando wrote:I told you Chelsea would win by 2 goals ZZZ
Heard you guys weren't too good & it was comfortable for Chelsea. You missed Giroud apparently. Ill see the highlights tomorrow.
Any of that true Greggers?
Marky, Fer didn't touch the ball & he clearly touches Adnan & drops him...........you can use the "Its Old Trafford" excuse now, after all SAF is gone & as Mark Hughes said its lost its aura.

There is contact, but Januzaj stays on his feet then collapses a second later. Had it been Ashley Young there'd have been another witch-hunt.
Januzaj booked for diving on that dream debut v Sunderland as well wasn't he? Funny that.
Still, Aldershot lost. https://www.youtube.com/embed/n6yyZY9L-LE

Fer knocks him, he loses balance & goes down. Theres not that long of a delay.
Saying that my stream wasn't spot on so maybe there was. Ill watch the highlights tomorrow & judge then. Or are they on Sky tonight?

Re: Euro Division LXIX
We played well Zebs, not great but Mata/Essien/Azp were quality. Cahill is so solid as well, kept Arsenal at bay well. Schwarzer the best backup keeper we've had since Cudicini.Zinedine_Ze_Zebra wrote:And I listened, had Chelsea to win 1-0,2-0 or 2-1 doubled with West Ham 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1. Arsenal were fairly poor, without Giroud they lacked any threat going forward. Ozil looked off as well.

He got booked for it once, has made several appearances after & non been in any similar like controversity so id give him the benefit of the doubt.Marky wrote:Not saying he's a serial diver, but he has already done it before in his short Man U career!
Think some highlights are on SS1 at 11pm so ill watch it properly then.
From what I have seen tho I didn't think it was a dive. There was contact, its one of those, you see them given & you seen them not.

I didn't say he dived tonight. I said there was contact and he fell over. Not a chance he was genuinely tripped.

Some managers have been known to encourage that & a lot of players in football also do.Hero wrote:He welcomes a clumsily tackle in positions of opportunity Id call it.
I always though Arsenal would struggle when proven opponents come knocking. Dortmund now Chelsea. Lpool will give their defence problems due to SAS (who are shaping up well, looking like the best partnership ive seen since Yorke & Cole) & hopfully we do in 2 weeks time.

What am I on about? That IS divingMarky wrote:I didn't say he dived tonight. I said there was contact and he fell over. Not a chance he was genuinely tripped.
Fer made contact with Januzaj so Januzaj went down. He wasn't fouled and football isn't a non contact sport. He did what loads of others do, he cheated. But because there's contact people will defend diving. And it will never leave the game until these people realise that there is no difference between diving with no contact and diving with minimal contact.

I actually usually mention in my tactics for players to look for, I don't have that much of an issue with players being able to lure a player into sticking their leg out, I take issue though when there's no contact and it's total simulation.

Marky, Fer is quite big, Adnan is small & lightweight, would take much to knock him down......lol
Ill judge it when ive seen it properly.

From what I saw it seemed like that, Fer was lured into making a challenge, missed the ball & got the player.Hero wrote:I actually usually mention in my tactics for players to look for, I don't have that much of an issue with players being able to lure a player into sticking their leg out, I take issue though when there's no contact and it's total simulation.

No standard lawyers, just End of Season ones.
Week 1 of Season 2 can begin on 5th November, with first tactics due on 7th, if people are happy with a quick turnaround and short gap between seasons?
If so, then next "normal" lawyers would be on the 5th

Re: Euro Division LXIX
Can I suggest the following for the two retiring teams:
Each other team gets one half price player from each of the sides, random draw of all managers to decide order e.g.
Marky
Hero
Afro
Trebs
Milky
Gregers
Zebs
Viva
Olly
TC
We go top to bottom for the first player (can be from either of the retiring sides) and then back up the list for the second (with each manager having to pick from the other retiring side)
Each player will be available for HALF of their TM value.
All unsold players get sold to lawyers and will be unavailable until season 3

Re: Euro Division LXIX
Here's what I think we need to discuss and agree on
1) Change to the calculation of results. My proposal is to stick with the current approach, but reduce the +1 for number of extra wins down from 3 to 2, particularly given the reduction down to 10 teams/8 votes per match.
2) Whether to have a TP window as per Zidane's proposal (can you remind us of this ZZZ)
3) End of Season prizes based on targets. I will dig out my earlier proposal.
4) Who is going to calculate results instead of Soddy?

I'm a bit harsher I was going to suggest that all the players from both teams get chucked on the Left in Lawyers list for Season 2 and therefore are unavailable until Season 3Gregers wrote:Can I suggest the following for the two retiring teams:

Why not just say all the players are on the market for TP value? If they aren't in the league then that surely makes the most sense.

Err, the above + the below.Afro wrote:1) Change to the calculation of results. My proposal is to stick with the current approach, but reduce the +1 for number of extra wins down from 3 to 2, particularly given the reduction down to 10 teams/8 votes per match.
If you get more win votes you should win. Ill go back to using my match last week for example purposes.
Votes went:
Zwag win: 3
Draw: 2
FC WHU win: 2
Goals went:
Zawg total goals: 7
FC WHU total goals: 6
7 divided by (No of Votes) 7 = 1
6 divided by (No of Votes) 7 = 0.86
"In this instance the benefit of the doubt is being given to a team who did not accumulate a full goal based on the averages and who did not receive more or equal win votes.
The team who received more win votes & averagely scored higher is being overlooked & not rewarded for having more wins + averagely better stats."
I feel we shouldnt round up the average goals. 0.99 would result in nil goals scored. Must be at least 1.00 to be given as a goal.
Ill put my transfer policy up in 10 or so mins.

Ah yes, forgot about that bit. I agree. It is always rounded down, so to achieve a goal, you have to average a goal essentiallyZinedine_Ze_Zebra wrote:Err, the above + the below.Afro wrote:1) Change to the calculation of results. It is kinda broke though. As you can see form the above stats Zwag were better on win votes & average goals but we not rewarded for it.Marky wrote:If its that close a draw is fairest though. It ain't broke, why fix it?
If win votes are equal then its most likely average goals will be equal so the outcome will be a draw.

Re: Euro Division LXIX
I think it is broke. I would like something that reduces the large number of draws and turns them into wins one way or the other.
I wouldn't do wholesale changes. But given the reduction to 10 teams, I think the +3 win votes does need to be reduced anyway to +2 and I would do rounding down the average goals rather than rounding to the nearest.

I'm going to pull a sicky on Friday because I can't be bothered this week. How do I hide my online on the ps3? I don't want work colleagues to see that I was online during work time. I could easily do that on the Xbox if I wanted to stay offline when I'm really online.
Re: Euro Division LXIX
Have you ever called someones parent their grandparent?
Haha it's so awkward and embarrassing.

I'm very cautious when I pull a sicky (Which is rare) I don't even go on whatsapp so they don't see my last online.
I'm try to complete GTA on Friday and give it in for Lost Souls.

OK, if we are starting season 2 next week we have stuff to do.
Who did fixtures last time? How are they done, random gen website or what?
I can do them if someone give me a tip.
Do we want a fresh TP & TP Confirmation page for season 2?
We can just lock season 1 pages.
My TP Limit idea, we need to vote on it. Who needs a reminder?
A decision on how results are calculated needs to be confirmed, so far only me & Afro have said out preferences.
Decision on the players from the 2 teams which have disbanded needs to be made.
Lets get organised ladies!
