Fair play to both men, great fight to watch and both of them gave everything.

I feel like Perez, like Ola, can be too lazy in his style, despite the pace of tonight. He was fast his foe made him fast, slowed when his opponent slowed. His quality was greater so I thought he could have stepped it up.

Perez needs to keep moving forward now because he can be a serious force in the division if he stays focused. I was impressed with Abdusalamov as well i thought he was finished after about 5 rounds and yet he stayed in their punching right till the final bell.

I was under the impression SHAKY Stevens was fighting GGG. I have been misled. I was sure that Shaky Stevens had the right experience to beat GGG having a string of top ten hits in the 80's plus a couple of xmas number 1 singles.

I really do apologize for this guys but I can promise that I will get to the bottom of this quite obvious, deliberate misinformation.

I was surprised at how much Golovkin got hit. He's not perfect.

The left and right hooks are deadly punches.

One of those fights. I was shocked at how Damn good Golovkin was, but at the same time, I now wonder if his power hasn't been overestimated. He dominated from start to finish, so I am a little surprised he didn't get the KO. Great fight (for GGG) though. Interested to see where he goes from here.

I get the impression Raf he's an accumulation puncher not a knockout puncher, he clearly possesses heavy hands but he doesn't get his man out of their with one punch. He's been fighting a lot of ordinary fighters he's been able to land on at will like Rosado and Stevens so interested to see how he does when he truly steps up. The problem he has is that the middleweight division is very weak at the moment so the only tests are at super middleweight.

not sure what that taught us of GGG, soon as he landed that first big shot stevens went into shell and went into survival mode, bar one little burst he didnt throw anything and just covered up, which was disappointing after all the talk.

GGG did the job required of him, but bit early for me for the talk of stepping up and facing someone like froch, who would be a much bigger man in the ring. be a cracking fight though!!

Well he has a chin,  Stevens can bang and he did catch Golovkin flush yet never wobbled  him properly

I don't think his power is overrated, Stevens just covered  up making it hard to catch  him clean and the only time he did he dropped Stevens in the second

Would love to see him get the big names,  but untill he does he should stay active as he's a good watch and will get the big fights

WHU - Golovkin was catching him clean 50% of the time in the last four rounds. Obviously, you don't have his KO ratio unless you've got some dynamite in your gloves, but I'm now less convinced that he is the Second Coming.

That said, there were other factors and parts of his game which impressed me. He is ridiculously accurate, and has a high work rate. Would have loved to see him take on Martinez, but Martinez, understandably, is on payday mode right now. Chavez isn't coming near him. I think Golovkin has to come up to 168, take on a guy like Oosthuizen, or even Kessler now. A win there and I think he could get a crack at Froch or Ward.

Did Sky have a hidden agenda last night? They were actually trying to criticise Golovkin after the systematic beat down he gave Stevens. Macklin let his loss to Golovkin affect his commentary a few times last night, although he did make some valid points. Sometimes it sounded like Golovkin was struggling....

It was a superb performance and Stevens comes out with a lot of credit as well, I think he would be a good fight for a lot of names in the middleweight division.

A lot was expected of Golovkin. He was expected to go through Stevens like he did Macklin. Didnt quite go that way. He actually got hit with some big shots and arguably lost one or two rounds. Stevens did a pretty good job at frustrating him and landed some good counters.
