Flu hits All Blacks camp
You couldn't make it up.
All Blacks preparation for France has been thrown into disarray with reports that a flu virus has broken out.
So far Julean Savea is unlikely to start with reports that the virus is likely to reach its peak to disrupt training for next week.

Apparently Savea is making quite a recovery, There was a discussion that maybe Piutau could play left wing against France, Julean is now up and about and should be able to train in the morning. (your time).

You sure it's not food poisoning or Mr Barns smashing vials of 'grow up' and 'get you excuses out early, just in case' virusesGloriousEmpire wrote:You couldn't make it up.

Shouldn't this be 'Excuses hits All Blacks camp'? Good to get them in early again

NZ will win every match - to prompt an orgy of "We can beat you even when ill" style gloating.
NZ are easily the best team in the world right now - and quite possibly the best team I have ever seen. Shame certain fans seem unable to enjoy their team's performances as they should.

Oh I have no doubt about winning. It's merely another logistical challenge and makes the selections interesting.

Are you talking about France or England, GE?
If the latter, you said that last time

Re: Flu hits All Blacks camp
Portnoy, what hes getting at is the reorganisation of wing/back resources that are available for selection in the absence of Savea.
There are some that have not yet been convinced that Piutau is a very very good winger especially left, even though he is capable on both wings, and with Corey Jane coming back from injury, and Ben Smith who is as good a right winger as most in International rugby being currently assigned to centre duties, plus Frank Halai...

I'm sure that, like all sides, New Zealand will somehow cope without having all their playing resources available, all the time.
laurie, you're giving GE a bit too much credit there. I think we all know what he meant.

You must have missed the 3rd line in the OP. In GE's world it will concide perfectly with the England gamedoctor_grey wrote:Damn, a week early.

You are misusing "begs the question" there. Begging the question means to assume the initial point, which is the opposite of what you intend. Hope that helps!Portnoy's Complaint wrote:Which begs the question - what do you mean, GE? The team, the officials or the appropriate laws?GloriousEmpire wrote:Oh I have no doubt about winning. Natural selection working as God intended.
Mind you once the weak have been replaced by the strong, what kind of scary team will the ABs be?

Do you think one of the All Blacks pre match rituals of eating half cooked sausages from the BBQ, in the rain, while someone stick pins in a voo doo doll which looks like Wayne Barnes is the best prep?

I'd like to stay and argue your bumhole logic, GE. But I'm not going to.GloriousEmpire wrote:You are misusing "begs the question" there. Begging a question can refer to a statement made from, or consequent from, a predefined viewpoint of a restated opinion.
And yours is that consequent from a clearly manufactured OP, presupposes that the ABs are not wise enough to travel to the early winter of the NH without preparing their squad without appropriate vaccinations.
Btw, I initially phrased the comment at 'prompts the question' but I deliberately changed it taking common usage into account.
But if you'd like to answer the question (whether prompted or begged), I'd be appreciative.
The team, the officials or the law interpretations - which should be logistically planned by the ABs considering that your OP implies that they are not capable of arranging a few jabs?

There was a NZ poster - vehemently obsessed with England rugby matters - who went by the name of Grey Ghost and was eventually red carded from 606 by the mods.
It is wrong to suggest any connection though, as that is outside house rules.

Argh, that makes sense then, I have popped the ghosty symbol in myself once not knowing exactly why everyone was doing it.
Is that a definate though, I and others have all been called reincarnations, but I would have thought somebody doing that wouldn't be allowed to get away with it.
