First topic message reminder :
You couldn't make it up.
All Blacks preparation for France has been thrown into disarray with reports that a flu virus has broken out.
So far Julean Savea is unlikely to start with reports that the virus is likely to reach its peak to disrupt training for next week.

Begging a question can refer to a statement made from, or consequent from, a predefined viewpoint of a restated opinion.
And yours is that consequent from a clearly manufactured OP, presupposes that the ABs are not wise enough to travel to the early winter of the NH without preparing their squad without appropriate vaccinations.
Btw, I initially phrased the comment at 'prompts the question' but I deliberately changed it taking common usage into account.
But if you'd like to answer the question (whether prompted or begged), I'd be appreciative.
The team, the officials or the law interpretations - which should be logistically planned by the ABs considering that your OP implies that they are not capable of arranging a few jabs?

As I said, my dad died last year around the same time. I actually logged on and congratulated England, as I did following the win over Australia despite my feelings about the circumstances...and I wasn't around to witness your smug revelry. Apologies. Some things are just more important, I'm sure you will agree.Metal Tiger wrote:Previously banned poster called GreyGhost reincarnated as GE. I am beginning to be very concerned about the AB's, it seems their immunity systems are not up to par.

All that beating SA consistently comes at a price, clearly. And obviously being our main rival, is clearly the higher priority.

So, even though you are in blatant violation of the explicit house rules again. Let's get to the bottom of this one.
Firstly you saw me edit a typo and then copied he post and changed what I said in the quote.
Secondly, answer the question:
When was this grey ghosts last post?

Well your accusation seems to be that I was grey ghost and left after the England game last year. Looks to me like this grey ghost left a absolute years ago.
My advice to you is to seriously get a life of your own and move on. It's quite sad how you're following me around like a yapping Yorkshire terrier getting under my feet and generally looking for attention.
You are in violation of the house rule specifically banning members from accusing new members of being returning members.

Being at risk of pushing a point GE, which logistical challenge are you referring to? The team, the officials, the law interpretations, getting the jabs, hotels, trains, coaches etc. (the logistics in one sense), the matter of which side 'turns up' or what?GloriousEmpire wrote:Oh I have no doubt about winning. I like it when debatees hold themselves hostage to fortune when including in their argument with the word 'merely' to dismiss a problem/flaw.

Ah...it's a long story and you have to go to the beginning.
Read the articles in the NZ herald about the selection approach. There was a plan that keeps being rearranged due to injuries and withdrawals and what not. Started when the squad was split for Japan/France.

But are returning banned members allowed under GE's much quoted rules?nathan wrote:i'm not 100% sure on this, but there isn't actually a rule saying you can't accuse someone of being a returning member. It's probably more BS from him.tigerleghorn wrote:I don't mind accusing him of being greyghost, let's see what happens. Why don't you report me GE?nathan wrote:me get a life, that coming from you!GloriousEmpire wrote:Well your accusation seems to be that I was grey ghost and left after the England game last year. Looks to me like this grey ghost left a absolute years ago.
My advice to you is to seriously get a life of your own and move on. It's quite sad how you're following me around like a yapping Yorkshire terrier getting under my feet and generally looking for attention.
You are in violation of the house rule specifically banning members from accusing new members of being returning members.
also could you point me to where i specifically said you were GG?
Either we're right or you are and I'll likely be banned!

1) check the sticky
2) why don't you just do as BT suggests and move on

Is that your answer, GE?GloriousEmpire wrote:Ah...it's a long story and you have to go to the beginning.Portnoy's Complaint wrote:Being at risk of pushing a point GE, which logistical challenge are you referring to? The team, the officials, the law interpretations, getting the jabs, hotels, trains, coaches etc. (the logistics in one sense) or the matter of which side turns up or what?GloriousEmpire wrote:Oh I have no doubt about winning. It's merely another logistical challenge and makes the selections interesting.
I like it when debatees hold themselves hostage to fortune when including in their argument with the word 'merely' to dismiss a problem/flaw.
Read the articles in the NZ herald about the selection approach. There was a plan that keeps being rearranged due to injuries and withdrawals and what not. Started when the squad was split for Japan/France.
A referral to a non-specific report from an article in the newspapers barely cuts the mustard in prompting a debate.
Let's go back to first principles.
Your OP started "Flu hits All Blacks camp" - "You couldn't make it up.
All Blacks preparation for France has been thrown into disarray with reports that a flu virus has broken out.
So far Julean Savea is unlikely to start with reports that the virus is likely to reach its peak to disrupt training for next week."
At which point did you start making things up?
Or to put it in a different way, why didn't you just provide a link to the scaremongering article and save us all some precious time?
You are right in one sense though. You couldn't make it up that the ABs management wouldn't take precautions to avoid a 'flu scare.

Well perhaps the debate is aimed at group of people sufficiently knowledged up to understand it.
Others here have caught my drift.
Isn't it obvious?

anotherworldofpain or awop if you will, a chap that initially stuggled with written English but suddenly became Dickens when NZ came over last autumn mysteriously disappeared/banned last Nov. Those pesky Welsh chaps were to blame after questioning Andrew Hore's ABH on Bradley Davies. However as Highlander once said, There can be only one

Portnoy as far as I know only one All Black is suffering from the flu and that is Julean savea. I dont know if that amounts to a "scare" or not.
If it turns out that Savea is unfit to play against France then the questions arises who then plays on the left wing for the ABs.
For mine its Piutau.but then there are a number of other scenarios which arise involving Ben Smith/Ryan Crotty, Corey Jane,Frank Halai. etc.

Re: Flu hits All Blacks camp
I'm a veteran of work environments. I've had more than 20 of them in my time on this earth. Never in all that time have I seem one member of a team go down with the flu without the other 19 going down in a space of two or three weeks. Now I'm sure these boys are all fit as buck rats with metabolisms of a rutting rhino, but doesn't that make it worse? I don't know if it's a wives tale of yore, but what I was led to believe is that a fit body was more susceptible than a cranking middle aged old fart like myself because firstly, a virus leverages the fitness of the host to multiply faster and more voraciously and secondly those clean living lads just aren't accustomed to encountering the kind of scum we breathe daily in the fetid environment of public transport or office air conditioning's sludge recycle.aucklandlaurie wrote:

People will say whats a cold? Well next time you're lying snotty nosed and cloggy throated sucking a strepsil ask yourself how motivated you might be to make that latch ditch tackle on a rampaging French back rower? Not very, if you're anything like me.

Exactly. My fittest mates are the sickest ones. The coke addicted, borderline alcoholics who gamble and smoke and prefer ladies of purchasable morality are all fit as fiddles the entire time.
Personally my cholesterol is pushing double figures and I only get the flu when I go on one of those foolish alcohol free month nonsense wastes of time.
