Scenarios:

a) straight sets with for bird he goes through in 1st ahead of nadal.
2) 3 set win for bird he goes through 2nd behind nadal.
3) A nadal win either way will see stan go through Very Happy

If JMDP goes through, I wouldn't be shocked if we end up with a JMDP v STM final.

except if its with federer, both delpo and djokovic seem stronger than nadal in this part of the season, so I think nadal will not win this title either this year

By winning the first set Rafa has guaranteed finishing top of the group I think. No need for investing too much in the rest of the match.

At least Johansson had the bottle to take his chance when it appeared. I can't see the likes of Ferrer, Berdych, Tsonga, Gasquet being able to do that whatever the circumstances.

well this wasn't an easy win. It was down to the old grey matter, as soon as there was scoreboard pressure Nadal locked down and the Bird collapsed.
Nadal beats most the big hitters in the brain, espeially Berdych

He's beaten Rafa here quite comfortably in the past, but that Fed would also beat the current Fed quite comfortably.

Obviously, it's impossible to be certain, but I feel Ferrer and Berdych at least would find a way to lose a slam final, even if they were playing me with a hangover.

but the final against nole... I just cant see anybody beating nole at the moment.

if I look bacl to september I cant even understand how nadal managed to win that usopen... or said it in the other way, Icant understand why nole didnt play that final as he started playing 15 days later
