Just wow at Dallas. Had it in their hands and were set to pile all the pressure back on Philly.
Now they only win the division by matching our result next week and beating us

Oh dear Dallas Cowboys. That said the Eagles will be kicking themselves right now. they could have had this division almost won today. It looks pretty certain now that the primetime game in week 17 is going to be the Eagles vs Cowboys.
Respect for the Packers for bringing Matt Flynn back in. They still had faith in him and it just shows what a better roster and the right coaching staff can do.
A good win for the Dolphins. I think they could compete with the Patriots, Bengals, Colts and Chiefs in the playoffs. The Broncos would be a big question for them though.
Wins for the Bears and Packers put pressure on the Lions tomorrow night. Same with the Dolphins and the Ravens.

He got me 71.5 points in one league and 51.5 in another. I'm projected to lose both matchups.

OK, so I lost in FFL (leaving 10.5 points on the bench ) and the Skins are looking sorry. Its not a great Christmas as football goes.
But I can take solace that Suckmo is doing his thing in December and once again the oh so talented Cowpokes are snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!

If anyone remembers me asking FF questions from my "super team" which has every player on the roster ranked in the top 10 every week... I lost after a 12 game win streak due to blooming Jaamal Charles!

Lads would anyone be interested in a fantasy league type game similar to the ones that occur on the Sports gaming page. I'd be willing to run it and feel it would be good fun.
Depending on support we choose 8/12 teams and try to develop the teams using transfers similar to how football works leading to our own Super Bowl

How did you work yours Olly. I was going to do the 12 teams who got in the playoffs
A mixture of drafts and "foreign" transfers to add to the roster. Then a lineup of 26 players with a few lines of major tactics. Injuries and domestic transfers involved?

There's the old section CJB.
I think we let everyone pick teams in a draft system (fairest way we felt), then they put up their 53 man roster (taken from Wiki or team page) and we had a draft of all the players not already in the league, think it was a 3 round draft if i remember right?
The lineups were like that exactly, I think we decided on set formations so people didnt go wacky on offence. Injuries were involved and trades were allowed (although dont think there were many tbh)

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread IV
Yer similar idea here. Was looking at taken the 12 playoff teams. 6 per conference. Take the usual rosters. But give each team a budget depending on quality (record) so Seahawks/Broncos get the least and with a mixture of foreign transfers (anyone not in league)and drafting improve the teams. I will aim to keep money important throughout the season which should help dealing.

Yeah I'd give this a go again. Think money would help with getting players moving around, was barely any trades last time!

Yer that is likely to help it (I play it with other sports and it's a major factor) I'm drafting a set of rules and then am hoping to run them by Olly to see what he thinks and get moving hopefully at some point around the start of Jan when everyone returns from Christmas. Will be looking for 12 managers I think though.

It's pretty amazing that San Diego will miss out on the playoffs (lets face it, Baltimore and Miami wins one game between them) despite winning in Kansas and Denver this season

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread IV
Frankly I think there are only two teams not backing their way into the playoffs, the Seahawks and the Chiefs. Everyone else, even the Broncos, have shown big weaknesses at some point.
That said, right now I'd go with the Eagles @ Seahawks in the NFC championship - the Eagles look like they will be stronger at home than anyone else and could go to anywhere but Seattle and win.
Broncos @ Chiefs if results go the Chiefs way, else vice versa as they stand. Don't think the Patriots will travel well in the playoffs this year, and they have shown they are vulnerable at home. 3 best teams in AFC and then there's a big gap, if not in talent, in consistency.

You either had to be drunk or insane to buy the notion that playing Cousins behind that O-Line, with those WRs and with a defense that couldn't stop anyone, was somehow going to boost his trade value. Plenty of "experts" who get paid to run their mouths off about he NFL were using this as some kind of justification for Shanahan's stinking decision to bench Griffin though. There was no justification for it, there still isn't and I'm delighted we've lost the last two games to spare us a media fabricated QB controversy in the offseason.
