Sorry guys but this is just too good.

2-0 isn't implausible considering the Raiders aren't very good and they have beaten the Chiefs already this season.
Ravens face difficult trips to Detroit and Cincinnati plus the Pats at home (1-2 at best). Dolphins play the Pats, Bills and Jets (1-2).
9 games gets you the 6th seed in the AFC.

What difference a year makes. Especially in the case of Manti Te'o who is now in the playoffs with the Chargers.

Apparently the chargers were in an illegal formation when the chiefs missed their field goal at the end of regulation. The NFLbias said it should have been called back. Big Ben must be raging.

Hate the Rob Chudzinski firing, the Browns had a good group of coaches and some key players to build a team around. It should have been about the future for them.

I'll only rejoice if they get someone as good or better than Shanahan. He did make a mistake with playing RGIII when he was hurt, and I have doubts that playing Cousins in the end worked out, but overall he didn't do a bad job with what he had. Look at the mess he inherited and look at the damage the cap hit has done. Tell me any other HC (maybe except Ol' Grumpy up in NE) who could have put together a quality roster with nearly 28.5% wiped off your salary cap capacity? Never mind getting in a few good starters, where do you find quality depth and performers on ST's? He made some mistakes and we should be better than 3-13, but he was hamstrung for almost all of his tenure and still delivered a divisional championship.
Who would I like to see come in? Right now the only name on my list is Lovie Smith. Possibly Whisenhunt. Otherwise you are dealing with an unknown quantity. I don't see any coordinators able to step up, and I see a college coach as too big a risk considering the state of the roster.

Now there's a job opportunity for someone in Detroit. Just need to coach up Stafford, install discipline, get some more defensive pieces and you got a heck of a football team.

Sounds like player power decided this one. He was not popular.
Schiano is a dick, so no sympathy there. Frazier maybe deserving of some sympathy, but his handling of the roster probably got him fired. I can see Schwartz being on a knife edge but possibly staying if he can make a strong enough case.

I'm surprised it won't be Horton. Thought promoting him from DC would be the move that made the most sense, do wonder if he'll stick around.
Zimmer's gonna end up somewhere, would guess maybe Titans if they lose Munchak, got a good D there

Wrecked a good defense, almost wrecked the career of the franchise QB, wrecked the confidence of the franchise QB..... list goes on. He did finally find a decent kicker though......
I'm not rejoicing tonight. He's been fired cos we suck and now we have to watch as all the decent HC candidates knock us back and go elsewhere. I have no thoughts as to who we should target. I hate all the lazy talk about Bevell and Roman just cos they've had success with dual threat QBs. Doesn't follow that they'd have success rebuilding our pitiful mob.

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread IV
Few thoughts
I wouldn't have brought back Rex. Players love him but that's not always a bad thing. He's too much like his father, too focused on his side. But Woodys more concerned with being on the front page than back page and Ryan makes the Jets relevant.
The Rob Chudzinski fire stinks on multiple levels. How can you preach patience and building then fire a guy for not winning with Jason Campbell and Brandon Weeden
Schwartz had to go. No control leading to a lot of wasted talent.
Canning Schiano and Dominik was the right call. Dominik hasn't built a strong roster. Schianos style doesn't cut it in the NFL. Dictating to 18 year olds is a lot easier than millionaires.
Already covered Shanahan. Skins went nowhere positive under him. Time to retire.
Don't see the point of Lovie. Failed utterly to cultivate an offense in Chicago. More likely he gets passed on and Jerry backs up a bank truck to coach his defense imo

I'm not a fan of the Dominick firing but you can certainly make an argument for it. Lovie Smith will of course be touted having worked there before. Will need a good OC with him, that'll be the big problem.
The Bucs have some good guys in the personnel department wouldn't worry as much there.

More likely the Browns go for McDaniels and Ryan Mallet. That would leave back up QB spot available on their roster for possibly AJ McCarron.

Although as Mikey says maybe more likely they go for Mallet if McDaniels does end up there. If those moves happened I think I'd love Cleveland forever, despite Brady saying he wants to work with McDaniels for the rest of his career, he sucks
