This weeks Impact (spoilers)

I am not going to give a full recap of results but I am interested in what you thought of the following bits:

1. The whole Angle vs Roode brawl. It was funny at first but by the 4th time, it got really silly. But at least it was something different and both men looked equal. Usually the heel would act cowardly.

2. Aces and 8s vote. Just when you think its coming to an end, they drag it on a bit further! I liked the whole segment though. What I wanted thoughts on was the namedropping of Austin (it got a huge pop). Do you think it harms the product?

3. The main event - Hardy and Sabin put on a great match with a great finish. What did you think of it all?

For me the whole show was weird- I thought it felt different and not neccesarily in a good way. Not convinced this week. Although we did get an appletini finish which is always nice to see.

 

Just out of curiosity, why did they mention Austin and in what context?

It was after the Aces and 8s vote where they all quit leaving Anderson and Bully in the ring.

Bully then said something along the lines onf:

"Ken - being such a huge Stone Cold Stave Austin fan, I find it remarkeable that you didnt take heed of what he told everyone. Don't trust anybody"

Cue Aces and 8s reforming and beating down Anderson.

It was quite a good segment.

I liked the Angle / Roode brawl but it kinda got to the point of overkill. Thought the 'extras' screwed up a bit as well in the opening segment when they ignored the "time honoured tradition of the business" after Kurt Angle broke free by stopping him before he reached Bobby Roode. At least let them get some more shots in dammit!

I liked the Aces & Eights segment too, although The Taz provided some unintentional comedy when he told Bully to "Make me!" put his colours back on. Bad enough that he's now a fat commentator but his voice breaking REALLY didn't help matters!

As for the Stone Cold reference, I don't think it harms TNA in the slightest. Stone Cold Steve Austin is a name that transcends the business plus there's the fact that he's not actively involved with the WWE right now so Bully Ray wasn't exactly promoting the competition.

I thought it was mostly a pretty good show and would echo most of the comments already made. It was definitely helped by a good crowd...one of the better ones they've had since going on tour. Its a shame they're having to go back to the Impact Zone.

Just one thing I'm wondering: since Aces & Eights aren't dead yet...does this mean we'll be seeing the Main Event Mafia again?

I also thought Kim and Tapa interfering in the Brooke, ODB, Velvet Sky match was totally unnecessary. Its getting quite boring now. They should just find Tapa a feud to be getting on with. Gail Kim hasn't needed "muscle" before, to be a good heel and the pairing doesn't serve any purpose that I can see.

God I SO hope they don't bring back / in any more Bellator fighters. They add absolutely zero to the TNA brand IMO.

Its one thing having local sports personalities ringside that the crowd know and can cheer, but did they ever consider their fans might not even watch Bellator?
