England v New Zealand match thread
First topic message reminder :
2.30pm at Twickenham on Saturday.
Betfair has england 5:1 against. Sounds about right to me.
Are NZ wearing black this time? I hope so. don't think France or anyone else found the Haka quite the same performed in what looked like white gym T-shirts.
My prediction, fwiw (and i know that's not much), NZ to win by 6, england to dominate at scrums, lineouts 50:50, 60% possession England but Joubert tough (but predictable and consistent) on holding on means isolated possession gives NZ the scoring edge from penalties, and NZ classically more clinical with open/broken field possession.
Really looking forwards to it though.
Anyone going?

One of those 50/50 calls but it was the right call in the end. Sometimes they go for you and sometimes they don't.

If this isn't a try, surely it should be a yellow.

Robson was offside and touched the ball. Rubbish.

Great stuff...good character by the England lads.
Debate over the try...well no offence was committed and all teams have had them given or not given ....

Great stuff from England, they were in danger of getting steam rolled. Great character being shown here.

2nd row is an area we are good in I think, with these two Attwood and Parling. But these two provide some real oomph it looks like. And we've scored a try and doing well in the forwards. A lot of minimum requirement boxes ticked so far.
Now hang onto the pill and hammer them!

Re: England v New Zealand match thread
After worrying about a cricket score this has now become a fascinating one ...ball in hand AB's look sublime, but close in we're looking pretty good now that we've settled.
How long can we play at this pace though...that's the big question for me...

The England backs are hindering the team. Forwards are combating the All Blacks impressively

Good luck with that. Open play will be the end of england. Too many holes out wide. DCs injury completely expected. He's falling apart with the amount of rugby he's played. Real shame that.Cowshot wrote:2nd row is an area we are good in I think, with these two Attwood and Parling. But these two provide some real oomph it looks like. Disagree, I think England can play very good rugby in open play.Taylorman wrote:Good luck with that. Open play will be the end of england. Too many holes out wide. DCs injury completely expected. Taylorman, cant you at least give a little credit to a young England pack showing a lot of Character and really taking it to the AB's?
We all know our backs are a major concern...hopefully they are working on that...

This is starting to be more than just gaining respectability. We are actually threatening in the forwards by the sound of it. Dominant, even!

Ahhhh for god sake man our backs are shocking. Our forwards must despair...if our backs were decent we'd be ahead in this game...

New Zealand are suffering from this ill-discipline, almost like they're trying too hard to obliterate England hence all the penalties conceded. It's certainly not pretty from England but kudos to them for hanging in there

Not in the slightest mysti. Its the margin I'm so far disappointed with. England are boringly grafting their way back into it I have to agree. Just thankful I don't have to support that lot every test. Soooo thankful.mystiroakey wrote:Taylorman is seriously worried that the best team in any sport ever could get beat again!!

What I would do to have Tuilagi out there for the second half. Forwards are doing really well, wish we had Manu to smash some holes

Im pleased for Marler so far...think me Yappy and CJ were the only ones who backed him in this game...and he's showing he is capable of challenging Corbs and Mako for that spot...
