Jeremy Davidson??

Just seen that he has posted on his face book "A new start!! Au revoir".. Anyone know where he is off to.

Davidson joined the Ulster Coaching Staff ahead of the start of the 2009/10 season after two seasons in a coaching role with French side Castre Olympique where he had previously been a player.
Forced to retire from playing in 2003, the former British & Irish Lion cut his coaching teeth at Dungannon RFC before moving to Castres.

Ulster Director of Rugby David Humphreys said

"I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Jeremy for the contribution he's made over the past two seasons and on behalf of Ulster Rugby wish him well for the future."

Yeah I know that but where's he off to and more importantly who's replacing him?

Exile, I heard that Brian McLaughlin and Johann Muller will be coaching the forwards whilst Davidsons contract goes to a specialist scrum coach- possibly Matt Sexton!

Whether or not that is true, I will wait and see.

But I expect Johann Muller to play an extended role next season and I expect a scrum coach to be incoming. We will watch Ulster Rugbys website with interest over the summer to see the squad and coaching staff being finalised.

So a poster from second division French club Stade Aurillacois has come on UAFC and said that Jeremy Davidson has signed as head coach.

Jeremy has done a fantastic job in the 2 years, but if what you say is true it will be very intresting to see how the forwadrs perform under some BOK mentallity and never say die attitude. It may be the catalyst we need for next season to progress that little bit further.

"After a couple of weeks of speculation it has been confirmed by Ulster Rugby that Jeremy Davidson will be leaving his role as forwards coach to take up a post with French Division 2 side Aurillac as Coach ahead of next season.

Former Ulster hooker Matt Sexton has been linked with the role but it is likely that Johann Muller will be handed responsibility for the forwards, especially after confirming his contract extension earlier today.

Speaking on Davidson’s departure, Director of Rugby, David Humphreys said:

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Jeremy for the contribution he’s made over the past two seasons and on behalf of Ulster Rugby wish him well for the future.

It is our understanding that Buzz is leaving for personal reasons unreleated to Ulster Rugby. The Front Row Union would like to wish him well in his future career."

And Johann Muller has signed a contract extension! Brilliant news.

That ties in with him taking on a bigger role in the forwards coaching set up. Also interesting is that I heard the Pedrie was alos looking to extend as he seems to love it here as well. Now wether they are just looking to line their pockets or they are truly enjoying their time away from SA and are able to do so without the SA media covering their every move they make. Or are we becoming the "Magners Saracens".

All of the South Africans seem to be really happy here; even Pienaar. I think Wannenburg and Muller will stay on for an extra year each, but Pienaar will go back to Super Rugby at the end of his contract to fight for his place as first choice Springbok 9.

A lot will depend on whether we can kick on from where we are. Success breeds success and most Professionals will be happy in a successful team.
