What does Groves have to do...
First topic message reminder :
..to emerge with any credit on Saturday?
What kind of performance do people think Groves has to put in for people to consider he may have been worthy of his shot. Clearly we can't do anything about his record up to this point but whilst it's likely Froch will win, I'm rooting for George and certainly believe he'll give a good account of himself. However, what does he have to do to elevate himself in the eyes of the naysayers?
Does it have to be nothing short of victory, a losing split decision, close but losing unanimous decision, winning handily on the cards only to be stopped late, running Froch close but getting stopped late or something else? I'm hoping not, but maybe Groves will indeed fold early and feed the argument that he wasn't fit to share the same space with everyone's favourite trench dweller.
However, assuming there isn't an early blowout, what will convince you that Groves deserved his shot?

Talks cheap first worthwhile punch Froch catches Groves with,Groves will run like a thief. He meets Froch in the middle like he says and Froch wont need 2 right hands 1 will be enough to turn Groves legs to jelly.

Re: What does Groves have to do...
Just looked at the Degale v Groves match & basically I would have shaded that to Degale because he was the more aggressive fighter. Groves was on the backfoot most of the time and must be a very frustrating fighter to fight against. He doesn't seem to generate much power in his punches - because of his backfoot stance, and he seems to cut easy.
I think the only way Groves can win is to try to repeat what he did to Degale - run for 12 rounds and try to steal rounds. His chin doesn't seem to be too bad - he did get caught by Degale but he did survive (but I guess the punching power of Froch is an order of magnitude greater). I think Froch has to try to stay cool and not get frustrated if that's the tactic of Groves.

Took Paul Smith out a lot more impressively than JdG, for example, and looked like he got to Road Warrior more than Froch did.

Re: What does Groves have to do...
To be fair toppy, Groves fought them later than De Gale and Froch did.
Road Warrior had been on a huge decline, shadow of himself when he face froch (having just knocked green out), and smith was beaten by de gale back when he was around a good level.
However, Groves does hit hard and fast, that's not even news to us.
Its just how powerful he can be at world level, which he is yet to taste.
we will all find out on sat....

Bad signs for Groves at the last press conference........Didn't take kindly to Froch dismissing him and seemed to lose the plot...
Cool kid......lost his cool.......looks like maybe the huge nature of his challenge may be dawning on the kid.....
Looks a bit worried...Does he really believe ???????

Wish I'd watched it now, I only read up on it this morning.
Quite looking forward to this, might actually buy it!
If only AJ was still on the bill.....
