Fight Night Thread.
Massive night of boxing ahead. Whose in for the long haul and staying up for the Pacquiao vs Rios fight?
Rocky Fielding is up first on SBO at 6pm.

I'm going to try and see it through, I'll probably get to see the end of the first test match before the card in Macau starts as well.

Good night of sports! Be recording MOTD as well.
Really am excited about this fight now.
Also, its very bizarre to see McDonnel in an 8 rounder??

Seems strange that one, wonder if he just hasn't been bothered to prepare and Eddie has pulled a few strings.

Re: Fight Night Thread.
Yeh i can only presume that's the case with his current situation.
To be fair, the lineup should be quick with all the mismatches.
Expecting early finishes for Campbell and Quigg. Points for Lee and McDonnel.
Anyway, im going shoot for an hour or so, drop missus off and get round me brothers!!
Speak soon no doubt!

Re: Fight Night Thread.
Rocky Fielding just knocked out Blackledge in the first round, the only time his head moved was when Fielding hit it. Got spun on the ropes and Fielding landed a lovely hook to put him away, he's developing some good power now.

Re: Fight Night Thread.
Very fair assessment from Harrison there, much prefer seeing a trainer being honest and admitting that Fielding wasn't in against a test.

Re: Fight Night Thread.
Won't be staying up to watch Pacquiao knock 7 bells out of Rios, a smaller version of Margarito who won't have the benefit of being miles bigger with a better chin. Doesn't last 4.
Been a good day of sport though.. Thriller of a game in the league semi, f1 quali, scots vs aus now and froch smashing seven bells out of the little ginger muppet later on!
Groves at some point has to get brave and that's when Froch takes him out who's already ahead on points as Groves won't be throwing enough to warrant getting the nod on many rounds.

22ft ring, 18ft inside the ropes. Seems small, Haye seemed quite surprised by that.

, That is gonna bug me though. Good on Oliver Harrison too for admitting it wasn't a tough test. It better pick up or will be the last time the missus lets me order it

Bam Bam has a great chin.
PacMan couldn't even drop Bradley who's been down 4/5 times in his career.

I'd like McDonnell to get a win here, the IBF stripped him very quickly when you consider what the WBC have let Vitali get away with.

Evening all! Looking forward to this.
McDonnell needs to put this guy away inside the distance. He is teeny weeny and 40 yrs old.

It's a support for his arm to stop his shoulder moving around too much.Derbymanc wrote:What is that grey box that Haye's got round his waist?
Keeps the arm in a set position that puts the shoulder at a certain angle.
Looks ridiculous but does a job.

Re: Fight Night Thread.
To expand on my comment it took Mosley 8 rounds (I think) of battering Marg with everything bar the corner stool to get him out of there.. I'm saying Marg had a freak of a chin. A guy (Rios) who will be there to hit all night long won't last longGerry SA wrote:Rios has never been knocked down in his pro career.Izzi wrote:Won't be staying up to watch Pacquiao knock 7 bells out of Rios, a smaller version of Margarito who won't have the benefit of being miles bigger with a better chin. Groves is doing really well at the moment guys using his triple jab well, Froch needs to avoid that big right hand or he will go down a second time.
What a fight ooooooh Groves is punishing him.
