Anyone see that try by Damian Welch for Exeter against Bath just now?
What a turn of pace and great finish!
Reminded me of Tom Croft.

If you missed it make a point of watching it.

Sadly the second half was no better than the first. Absolutely dire game between two teams who both looked as if they'd never run a backs move before.

I see George Ford picked up man of the match.

I know Tigers were annoyed to see Ford go but, so far at least, he's proved why he had to move. It's unlikely Cockerill would have been able to give him a similar level of game time.

Quins will get hammered. Falcons will score more tries in this game then they have all season in the AP put together.

The record this weekend says you might be right. In each match the underdog was in it for quite a while, and either had the lead or was in serious contention pretty late on.

Excellent win for a very clinical Quins side.

Danny Cipriani had a good game for Sale. Looking more assured and mature.

Very dogged performance from Sale too. Frustated Saracens for a large period of the game, aided by the foolish decision to play Farrell and Wyles in the centres. Looked largely toothless in attack until an actual centre, Taylor replaced Farrell.

I mention this because yet again it shows the importance of centres to a functioning attack. Something that of course has caused England many problems over the years also.
