Probably the darkest moment in Villas history, being beaten by Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley

Green shoots of optimism for United perhaps? Whilst Villa have been awful, this has been a tidy display. Forget the title, United would snap your hand off for 4th place right now, and they're only 6 points off that.
Next 4 PL games are all very winnable.

Yeah bit harsh on welbeck, he's a good player.
Villa made cleverly look like a star today.

yeah too harsh on welbeck..
allways puts in a decent shift its just he doesn't allways play in such a forward role.
rooney had a pretty quiet game today.
That for me is Man u's biggest plus.. They won easily without rooneys influence

Rooney played some incredible passes to Valencia, whist he wasn't as influential as he has been of late I don't think he was poor.
United got what we needed without playing that well. 2 of the goals were from villa giving it away half way inside their half.

They don't even have a defensive line and do not follow any of the basic rules of defending - they deserve to get absolutely destroyed.

Spurs all over the shop defensively. Why they are playing a high line against Suarez and Henderson running from deep I don't know. Long was back now, can't see it myself.

Feel for Lloris for that goal, made two great saves but just didn't get the help from his defence.
Kyle Walker was stood behind the line when it went in

Could be 3/4 this game. Spurs are playing that bad and I don't see how they can change it that much at half time. Liverpool bossing this game.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'something'
Sterling has been excellent this half, work-rate has been superb and has shown how improved he is in his final ball with some really lovely passes, most importantly the cross-field pass that led to the second goal. Henderson has also impressed me, controlling the midfield in a Gerrard-esque way with some great runs forward as well. Shows the importance of sticking by young players I feel, as Henderson has only got better and better and now Rodgers has shown confidence in him he's a crucial part of the side in my opinion.
If Liverpool can come through this tough run of games still near the top, I think they have to be considered top 4 contenders.

They don't have a defense, just four guys standing at the back.

LLoris is a world class goalkeeper, if I was in charge of transfers at Barcelona, I'd be going for him this summer. Sweeper-keeper so can work in their system. His judgement can be a little off, but he's got the pace to recover from most mistakes anyway.

Tottenham handing this game to Liverpool. No one following runners, defence all over the shop. Time and time again they have been exposed as a team who cant handle runners from deep. Even we did it to them. There's a lot of reasons I don't rate Henderson, but he'll run at you all game and Tottenham don't seem to understand it

Away to Man City on the 26th, and away to Chelsea three days later on the 29th - Liverpool may have a very merry Christmas with 2 draws or better there.

Almost identical to Nani's red card vs madrid last year. No intention there but the result of the challenge is what get's the red card. My view on both is its a yellow card, they aren't even looking at the player.

Even we scored against Liverpool. If we were any good we could probably get AVB sacked midweek.

Why is it a disgrace for WBA to sack Clarke but AVB should be sacked?
Edit: And that isnt a troll question, I'm genuinely intrigued to how your virtues stack up on this one

Some one was saying Tottenham would finish 3rd yesterday
I mean if you are going to conceded 10 goals to Liverpool and city you better had score a few.
AVB's decisions are beyond insane..
Not sure if he should go, but well he isn't a patch on Arry for a start

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'something'
While I dont agree with clubs making rash decisions and sacking managers left right and centre I think AVB must be on borrowed time
I get he lost Bale who won games on his own but he got a hefty sum and invested most of that with new players and have easily declined as a team
But the truth is theyre getting beat here heavily, lost the north london derby and shipped 6 to city. After huge investment that really isnt good enough

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'something'
It's all about expectations and what both managers have done.
West Brom - Mid table at very best. Steve Clarke massively overachieved last season on a limited budget. 8th spot is fantastic for a side like West Brom. Started the season of well, beat United away, unlucky not to beat Arsenal at home and Chelsea away. Clarke proven to be a brilliant manager. There 15th at the moment, yes there near the drop zone, but surly not panic time.
Tottenham - They want Champions League. At this rate, they will be lucky to get a Europa League spot. They have scored 15 goals this season, that is stupid. AVB spent all of that Bale money poorly. Yes players haven't performed as well as people expected, but with that money to use, surely it makes sense to go after players who have proven they can boss the Premiership e.g. Benteke. Soldado doesn't suit Tottenham style of play. Defense have conceded a lot this season as well. Never understood why they got rid of Harry tbh. What did he do wrong?

Liverpools win here is just as good, if not better than City's 6-0, to go to White Hart Lane and win isn't easy. To go their and score 5 and completely dominate is superb.

AVB's tactics have been god awful today. This result seals his fate. No doubt he's done after this game and probably quite rightly as well.
