No. Add onto that we won't lose anyways, not at home.
We've picked up recently, but days like today are frustrating. They were there for the taking but we were conservative. But then that's the sort of approach that's more than likely gonna see us just safe.
It's all about risk/reward with Hughton and sacking him. I'm 100% certain he won't take us down, but I don't think he can take us to the next level. It's whether we take the risk and sack him, with the possibility someone comes in and takes us down ala Wolves, or we get someone in and progress ala Southampton
Seems to me, you're best bet is to sit on the fence and wait until the end of the season. If he has progressed from last season, keep hold of him, but if its similar to last or slightly worse think about replacing him. As you say don't muck around like Wolves, because it can go wrong, horribly disgustingly wrong.

Must admitt i am one of those who didnt think rodgers was right for liverpool. Still not 100% convinced, as we are still prone to shocking displays (hull, southampton). However this is a situation i will be more than happy to be proved wrong! We will see at the end of the season either way, but as of this second no one can argue with the league position!

I'm in the same boat buddy. He's blessed to have the best player in the league by a country mile and that is always going to help but so far so good. It's top 4 or nothing for me.

My twitter feed seem to think Jordan Henderson was the best player today, fantastic news for all. Seems Rodgers has changed him and is starting to get the best out of him. As i say good news for all of us, means the positions for that Plane to Brazil are getting more interesting!

Henderson has been excellent all season to be fair. Easily the most improved player at the club.

The next two games away at City and Chelsea intrigue me. A couple of draws or a sneaky win will do nicely. After that the only away game that worries me is Utd.
No doubt we'll lose a few of the "easier" ties.

It has been an outstanding season thus far though. I don't think it could get more entertaining and interesting.
The way things are panning out the last day is going to be manic at the top and bottom of the table.

Yeah, completely agree.
I think my three to go are becoming clearer. Sunderland have no firepower whatsoever & have poor discipline along with Cardiff who have shocking fixtures & are a mess. Finally to join them would be Palace for obvious reasons.
Great that Henderson is showing consistency now & showing us his quality. Think he might get to Brazil, however, Roy will always go with the tried n tested in central midfield. Henderson won't get much time, his tournament will be in 2016, where he should be even better than now.
As for the Toon, quite brilliant season up to date. Six points off the title @ xmas......if you'd said that after our first game humiliation & Cabaye having his head turned, I would of laughed in your face. Credit Pardew.

Henderson has been fantastic this season, although I didn't think he was that bad in the past, just tended to go anonymous at times and not have the confidence to do the things he does these days, like the outside of the boot through ball for the second goal and the back heel for the second today. I stand by my comments that he should easily be going to the World Cup ahead of Cleverley and Lampard. I would even go as far as saying he should go ahead of Barkley.

I'm really surprised how well Negredo is doing, I thought he'd be average considering he was being linked to the likes of West Ham before his big money move to Manchester City but he's been really good, if Aguero wasn't stealing the headlines at City he'd be getting a lot more hype, 21 games for City, 13 goals in all competitions. That's an excellent record at a new club in a new country.

I've read somewhere today that Spurs are looking at Rossi. He appears to blow hot and cold.
Suarez is well on track to break the 30 goal mark.

Sorry Dad ^
Still dont care for Henderson's technique, better players on the ball but he'd be part of my 5 central midfield players in England squads for the future (Barkley, Wilshere, Morrison, Henderson, Cleverley).
Liverpool are flat track bullies in many ways. Quality like Suarez has can just carry a team over a defence that isnt top class. I don't mean the others haven't contributed, but I think he's so good it makes playing in a team with him so damn easy.
We weren't good today, but its just a loss at Old Trafford. Rooney too good, Januzaj great when on his feet and they did much more to offer up front, this giving Rooney the chance to play deep when he wanted and hide United's midfield deficiencies.
We knew that anything from this game or Arsenal on Boxing Day would be a bonus, always the case, much more rests on WBA on the 28th, Carroll's fitness and the transfer window. Reid might be training by mid January too and hes as big a loss as anyone. Luckily the results went for us today in the other games.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'something'
I have to say Skirtel was absolutely disgraceful put full Roman Greco holds n the attacker on every corner and set piece and not once getting called. Liverpool's second goal was offsides and Skirtel should have been called for a penalty. I for one am sick of this terrible officiating, Liverpool deserved their three points but if I was the referee I would of called a penalty on Skirtel. I know it happens on most corners and frees but the degree he was tugging and pulling was to the point of being comical. He could have thrown a saddle on the man he was marking the way he was riding him. The FA needs to clean this up. If they have to call 5 penalties a game till defenders stop doing it then they should. Once they send the message that your tugging and pulling will cost you points it will stop. That being said Suarez was spectacular as usual. Best player in Europe for me so far this year.

i think in a replay it showed sterling was onside, but the skrtel both hands round i think caulker should have been a pen, its not one of those that you can put down to just pushing and shoving in the area, it was a blatant foul, its a pity, as when he was performing well for us he wasnt having to resort to that

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'something'
Yeah Sterling was onside, seen lots of replays confirming that.
The worst part of Skrtel's fouls were they weren't even effective, a lot of the time Caulker got the ball anyway because Skrtel wasn't attacking it.

The thing is, these big wins against the smaller sides are not typical of Liverpool, it's game like those which the team would slip up in the past, struggle to break down or sit back too early. To see us be so ruthless is a massive improvement on that side of the game. Hopefully how we face big sides doesn't suffer as a result as we usually can get good results in the big matches.

Suraez is just unstoppable, i can kind of understand how messi and ronaldo are looked at in Spain.
Its not a question of if they will score its how many minutes will it take until they score again.
The was also unselfish in the game.
I dont want to give him to much praise but his captaincy is working at the moment,
I get this feeling things may come crashing down when Liverpool love him 'too much' and he will demand to leave.
Signing the contract meant nothing- lets get that straight. It just meant he could earn more short term money and both parties will earn more if he leaves.
The greatest thing about Rodgers is that everyone is fighting for a place- Its not just Suarez. Everyone is producing when called upon.
So far this season we are in that classic position of the two most hated players by there own fans in the summer are now the two most loved(Suarez and Rooney at united)
We are so god dam fickle

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'something'
It was a selected group. I chose the strikers who are most likely to challenge for a golden boot. Rooney is essentially a deep playing striker now, more interested in papering over the cracks of the midfield & focusing on assists. Ramsey will also not challenge because hes only a midfielder n his goal scoring probably won't continue. I could of added Remy but I didn't. Been disappointed with the French battle between Cavani/Falcao.....
Be interesting to see if Suarez can win it for the EPL.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'something'
right.
there are only a few on that list that will challenge, so not sure i get your selected group!
Suraez is close to being guaranteed it tbh, the only player that has a shot is aguero(as long as both remain fit)
there is also no reason why rooney cant get up to something like 20 and take a top 4 even he plays deep. and there is also a possibility that Man u get a midfielder in the window. which will push Rooney more forward.
personally i would rather rooney just sticks it out in midfield. One of the best in the PL anyway.

Still have no idea why West Brom sacked Steve Clarke. Also why would they sack him and not have a replacement lined up. Madness. They would of won yesterday with Clarke.
Also full credit to Jake Livermore, offered to pay 6 grand for kicking the camera when he scored yesterday. Not many pro footballers would do that.

Not only has it happened many times, but they've been both made to pay in the past and offered.
I would say if you have no idea why Clarke's been sacked it's because you've refused to listen to any argument for it. Arguably, any time a chairman does line someone up they then get slated for acting whilst a manager is still in charge. Swings n roundabouts

Southampton played great to score that goal for Spurs, knocking it through their own defence and into the net.
Time coming to tell when teams like Southampton find their squad a little threadbare. Separates the men from the boys and its why themselves and Newcastle will drop off a little.
