Will never understand the love for Jose. His teams play turgid stuff

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'something'
Jose knows how to neutralise flair teams like Arsenal: play really dull football.
However what he also needs is ruthless goalscoring when given the chance, and the lack of world class strikers is why Chelsea have looked slightly dodgy in big games this season. This is slightly made up for by the fact they have some match winners in midfield, but how much would Jose give for Sturridge and Lukaku?

So what do we think guys..
Willian on Walcott
Penalty or No Penalty - Thought it was fairly dubious tbh was contact went down rather late.

it was a penalty, and Mikel with a late and hard challenge on Arteta doesn't even get called for a foul. Dean is an idiot.

Felt like Walcott went down soft and wasnt really fouled, not when he had control of the ball anyway

I'd expect both sides to up it a tad in the second half. Could still go either way.

Not a penalty for me, and certainly never a red card for Mikel.

Sherwood doesn't even have a UEFA pro license. And now he's the Spurs manager.
Suppose that was also a red card for Ramires, he made a tackle and that isn't allowed nowadays...

Sherwood, who has no experience of coaching, over AVB who has just led your team to their records points total and has the best win ratio than any other Spurs manager in history?

Out of interest does this win ratio include Europa League games?

Glad I didn't bother watching, watched the first five minutes and took the tactical decision to play Fifa instead.
Sherwood for Spurs is a ridiculous decision and to me shows that Spurs are a poorly run football club, don't sack AVB if you don't have anybody better to replace him. I expect Sherwood to be sacked at the end of the season. At least he's shown that he knows how to work the media

The board at Tottenham must see something in Sherwood though. Wasn't he the only one to survive the Redknapp reign?

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'something'
Its a massive call from Spurs to go for Sherwood. Cracking result against Southampton yesterday but after, what has it been, 2 games in charge to give him the job until the end of the seasons seems strange but perhaps they believe he knows the club well and would be a safer bet than bringing in a new manager who would need to get to know the players and the club as a whole in a short space of time.

Not entirely sure actually, just heard the stat on Sky Sports News, and it's a good one to use to defend AVBFreekShow wrote:Starlight wrote:Sherwood, who has no experience of coaching, over AVB who has just led your team to their records points total and has the best win ratio than any other Spurs manager in history?

Losing 6-0, 5-0 and scoring a measly 15 goals in 16 games were the only statistics that ultimately mattered, he had turned Tottenham into a very stale defensive team.

They hadn't yet gelled as a team- remember Baldini made many new signings with unproven players in the Premier League, they will need a season or so to acclimatise together.Hammersmith harrier wrote:Losing 6-0, 5-0 and scoring a measly 15 goals in 16 games were the only statistics that ultimately mattered, he had turned Tottenham into a very stale defensive team.
